7-Day Kafue Safari Itinerary 2027: Costs and Packages
Last updated: October 2026
A 7-Day Kafue Safari Itinerary 2027: Costs and Packages can cost $675 for a short two-night Kafue trip or $5,680 for a seven-day Kafue and Lower Zambezi journey. April is a practical planning point because one listed Kafue departure runs from April 5 to April 7, 2027. Compare verified safari operators and read traveler reviews before booking.
At a glance
Cost: $675 for a two-night Kafue safari, or $5,680 for a seven-day Kafue and Lower Zambezi safari [2][3]
Best time: April is a listed 2027 departure month; a hunting package lists April 1 to December 31 as its best hunting period [3][4]
Duration: Seven days for the full Kafue and Lower Zambezi itinerary
Best for: Travelers who want a longer Zambia safari with time for two parks
Price basis: The $675 TourRadar price is based on a private double room [3]
Extra fee: The TourRadar Kafue package lists a $20 government park-entry fee [3]
Two nights in Kafue are listed at $675, while a seven-day Kafue and Lower Zambezi trip starts at $5,680. That wide gap makes trip length and park combinations the first things to check when planning Zambia travel for 2027.
A 7-Day Kafue Safari Itinerary 2027: Costs and Packages guide helps you compare a short park visit with a longer safari. It also helps you separate the advertised trip price from extra fees, room type, and included activities.
This guide uses current 2027 package information available in October 2026. It gives you a simple day-by-day planning model, known price points, booking questions, and practical ways to compare operators through SafariFind.
Quick answer: A seven-day Kafue safari works best when you allow time for arrival, several game drives, and a second park or travel day. Current listed prices range from $675 for two nights in Kafue to $5,680 for a seven-day Kafue and Lower Zambezi trip. April has a confirmed listed departure in 2027.
What is a 7-Day Kafue Safari Itinerary 2027?
A 7-day Kafue safari itinerary is a week-long Zambia trip built around Kafue National Park, with some packages adding Lower Zambezi National Park. It gives you more time than a short break for travel, wildlife drives, camp routines, and a second destination. The best plan keeps travel days clear and avoids cramming every activity into one afternoon.
Overview
Kafue National Park is the main focus of this trip style. The available short package is a two-night Kafue National Park safari in the Ngoma Area Management area, listed from $675 per person [3]. The listed departure runs from Monday, April 5, 2027, to Wednesday, April 7, 2027 [3].
The longer option adds Lower Zambezi National Park. Adventure Life lists a seven-day “Kafue & Lower Zambezi Snapshot” from $5,680 [2]. That package provides a useful benchmark for a full week, even though the final cost still depends on what the operator includes.
Key features
Known for: a longer stay in Zambia, a Kafue focus, and the option to add Lower Zambezi. A seven-day plan gives you room to slow down. That matters because a safari day includes early starts, long drives, rest time, and changing wildlife conditions.
Day 1 usually works best as an arrival and transfer day.
Days 2 to 4 allow time for repeated Kafue game drives.
Day 5 can cover a transfer or a second safari area.
Days 6 and 7 can add more drives before departure.
This outline is a planning structure, not a fixed operator schedule. Ask each operator where the nights are spent, how transfers work, and which activities sit inside the quoted price.
Why the length matters
Two nights can give you a quick taste of Kafue. Seven days gives you a better chance to handle travel time without losing every wildlife activity. It also makes a two-park route possible, although a second park can raise the price and add transfer time.
Kafue safari travelers should compare the park-only option with the longer combined route. SafariFind connects travelers with verified tour operators, so you can compare package details, request quotes, and read authentic reviews before choosing a 2027 departure.
A seven-day Kafue safari costs $5,680 on the listed Adventure Life Kafue and Lower Zambezi package. A shorter Kafue trip costs $675 for two nights on the listed TourRadar departure. These prices show why duration, park combinations, room type, and park fees need separate checks before booking.
10% discount, instant confirmation, and guaranteed departure listed [3]
The $675 price is discounted from $750, according to the listed TourRadar details [3]. The same listing includes instant confirmation and a guaranteed departure [3]. Those booking terms are useful when you need firm dates, but they apply to that listed departure, not every Kafue safari.
The $20 government park-entry fee is listed for the TourRadar Kafue package [3]. Ask whether your seven-day quote includes park fees for every park, transfer costs, meals, drinks, guide services, and activities. A low headline price can change once these items are added.
What changes the final price?
Room choice is one clear factor. The TourRadar price is based on a private double room [3]. A solo traveler should ask how the operator handles single occupancy. A private vehicle, extra flight, upgraded lodge, or second national park can also change the total.
Check whether the quote covers airport transfers.
Check whether park-entry fees appear in the final total.
Check whether the rate covers all seven nights.
Check whether the listed price is per person or per room.
The two-night package suits travelers who want a short Kafue visit. The $5,680 package suits travelers who want a full seven-day route that links Kafue with Lower Zambezi. Neither price should be treated as a universal 2027 rate. Use each figure as a real comparison point, then confirm the exact inclusions.
How should you plan each day?
A practical seven-day Kafue safari itinerary starts with arrival, spends several days in Kafue, then allows time for a transfer or second park. Keep the first and last days lighter. This plan protects your wildlife time when flights, roads, or camp transfers take longer than expected.
Day 1: Arrive and transfer
Use day one for arrival, briefing, and transfer into the safari area. Your operator should state the meeting point, transfer method, expected travel time, and luggage rules. If you start in Lusaka, ask whether the route uses a road transfer or a domestic flight.
Lusaka is a useful planning point for a Zambia itinerary because many routes begin there. Travelers arriving near Victoria Falls can also ask whether the operator offers a connection from Livingstone. The Victoria Falls destination guide can help if you want to add a pre- or post-safari stay.
Days 2 and 3: Settle into Kafue
Spend the second day learning the camp routine and taking your first full game drives. A morning drive and an afternoon drive create a clear daily rhythm. Leave time for lunch, rest, and a guide briefing between activities.
Day three should keep the focus on Kafue. Ask your guide how far the vehicle will travel and which activities are available. A good itinerary does not promise a wildlife sighting. It gives you enough time and repeat drives to improve your chances.
Day 4: Add a different activity
Use day four for another drive or a camp-based activity listed by your operator. Confirm whether walking, boating, or fishing is included before you rely on it. Activities depend on the camp location, local rules, water levels, and the season.
Travelers who want a special add-on can review the Busanga Plains balloon safari cost guide. Treat any extra activity as a separate budget decision unless your quote names it as included.
Day 5: Transfer or stay longer in Kafue
Day five is the decision point. Stay in Kafue if you want a slower park visit, or transfer toward Lower Zambezi if your package combines both parks. Ask how much of the day the move takes. A long transfer can reduce the time available for a game drive.
Lower Zambezi is a different park choice, not a free add-on. The Lower Zambezi first-timer guide can help you compare a combined route with a Kafue-only stay.
Days 6 and 7: Final drives and departure
Use day six for another full safari day if your route allows it. This is a good time to repeat an area where your guide found recent tracks or animal activity. On day seven, schedule your last drive around your departure time and keep luggage ready.
Before you book, ask for the complete day-by-day schedule. A package called seven days may include travel on the first and last day. That is normal, but you should know how many full safari days you are buying.
Check the room basis, park fees, dates, transfers, and included activities before booking a Kafue safari. The listed TourRadar package confirms a private double room, a $20 park-entry fee, instant confirmation, and a guaranteed departure [3]. Your chosen seven-day package may use different terms.
Getting started
Choose a Kafue-only or Kafue and Lower Zambezi route.
Set a firm total budget, including fees and transfers.
Pick your preferred month and ask for confirmed availability.
Compare the number of full game-drive days.
Read recent reviews before you pay.
April has a listed Kafue departure from April 5 to April 7, 2027 [3]. Another 2027 hunting package lists its season from January 1 to December 31, with April 1 to December 31 marked as the best hunting period [4]. That hunting information is not a general wildlife-viewing promise. It applies to the hunting package and should not be used as a blanket safari forecast.
Best practices
Ask for written inclusions. “Safari package” can cover very different services. Your quote should name accommodation, meals, transport, guiding, park fees, activities, and the number of travelers sharing a vehicle.
Use a private double room rate only when two people share.
Ask about single supplements before you compare prices.
Confirm if the $20 park fee is paid once or per visit.
Ask whether the package guarantees the departure date.
Save the operator’s emergency and transfer contact details.
Pack light clothing, a warm layer for early drives, closed shoes, sun protection, and any medicine you need. Your operator should provide its own luggage limits. Keep passports, insurance details, and booking records in both paper and digital form.
Useful route comparisons
Some travelers add Livingstone after Kafue. The article on Livingstone activities and 2027 tour prices can help you decide whether to extend the trip. Others prefer a lake stay, a northern wetlands trip, or another park.
Bangweulu Wetlands safari packages are worth comparing only if you accept extra travel time. A seven-day plan has limits. Adding too many places can leave you with more road time than safari time.
Booking through SafariFind

Key takeaways
Compare the $675 two-night Kafue package with the $5,680 seven-day Kafue and Lower Zambezi option before setting your budget [2][3].
Book around the April 5 to April 7, 2027 listed departure if those dates suit your plans [3].
Budget for the listed $20 Kafue government park-entry fee and confirm whether your longer package includes it [3].
Check whether your quote uses a private double room, because the $675 rate uses that basis [3].
Allow travel time on days one, five, and seven so transfers do not remove your main game drives.
Frequently asked questions
How much does a seven-day Kafue safari cost in 2027?
A listed seven-day Kafue and Lower Zambezi safari starts at $5,680 [2]. A shorter two-night Kafue package starts at $675 per person [3]. Compare what each price includes, because the shorter package lists a private double room and a $20 government park-entry fee.
Is seven days enough for Kafue National Park?
Seven days is enough for a structured Kafue safari with arrival, several game-drive days, and a transfer or second park. Keep the first and last days light. Ask how many full days remain after airport transfers and road travel.
When is the best time to book a Kafue safari?
April is a confirmed planning point for 2027 because one listed Kafue departure runs from April 5 to April 7 [3]. A separate hunting package lists April 1 to December 31 as its best hunting period [4]. Ask your operator for wildlife and road conditions for your chosen month.
What does the $675 Kafue package include?
The listed $675 price is based on a private double room and includes a stated $20 government park-entry fee as a package detail [3]. The listing also shows instant confirmation, a guaranteed departure, and a 10% discount [3]. Confirm all meals, transfers, and activities before payment.
Should I combine Kafue with Lower Zambezi?
Combine Kafue with Lower Zambezi if you want a longer two-park Zambia safari and accept extra transfer time. Adventure Life lists a seven-day Kafue and Lower Zambezi package from $5,680 [2]. Choose Kafue alone if repeated drives and a slower pace matter more.
Where can I book a verified Kafue safari for 2027?
SafariFind connects travelers with verified tour operators, package comparisons, and authentic reviews. Use SafariFind to compare Kafue safari packages, request quotes for your dates, and check the exact price basis before booking.
Conclusion
A seven-day Kafue safari in 2027 is a flexible Zambia trip, but the price depends heavily on route and duration. The clearest current benchmarks are $675 for a two-night Kafue departure and $5,680 for a seven-day Kafue and Lower Zambezi package [2][3].
Choose the shorter option if you want a focused park visit around April 5 to April 7, 2027. Choose the longer route if you want more time in Zambia and accept the cost of a second park. In either case, ask about room type, park fees, transfers, and full safari days.
Compare verified safari packages on SafariFind, read authentic reviews, and request a quote matched to your budget. In 2027, the best booking decision will be the package whose inclusions are clear before you pay.

What Travelers Say (SafariFind Reviews)
"On 10.9. until 1.10. In 2023, I went on a trip to Botswana, Zimbabwe and a short visit to Zambia with my clients - friends. I carefully prepared the trip in cooperation with the manager of Cultural Vibes Travel & Tours, Mr. Tongesai Mutematsaka. After arriving in Gaborone we organized a short tour of the city ourselves and met Tongesai in Maun. Tongesai was our driver and guide practically the whole way. We visited the Okavango River Delta and its surroundings (Moremi Reserve, Mokoro boat cruise, flight over the Okavango Delta. This was followed by a visit to the Makgadikgadi Salt Flats, then the Elephant Sands area and in Botswana Chobe National Park with a cruise on the Chobe River. Then we crossed to Zimbabwe, which was the main part of our journey. In the Victoria Falls area, we visited the Monde settlement, took a helicopter flight over Victoria Falls, followed by a cruise on the Zambezi River as part of a visit to the national park of the same name. We also walked past Victoria Falls on the Zimbabwean side and had a Boma dinner in the evening (too much of a "tourist thing"). On the Zambian side of the falls we saw white rhinos in Mosi - oa - Tunya National Park, then visited the museum in Livingstone and walked the Zambian side of the falls. From Victoria Falls, we headed to Hwange National Park, where we had a beautiful program - a safari, and after Hwange, there was also a very interesting program in Matobo National Park (there, among other things, white rhinos (a mother with her little daughter), beautiful rock formations and prehistoric cave drawings. The next place visited was Khami with very interesting buildings, and then we visited the ruins of Great Zimbabwe, which are among the most important world monuments. This was followed by a visit to the Chinhoya Karst and finally the gallery in Harare. I would also like to comment on the provision of services: Accommodation in the hotels was at the standard, expected level, only the service at the Great Zimbabwe Hotel was rather lazy. Accommodation in lodges - very good and the best accommodation was in Iganyana tented camp in Hwange National Park, mainly due to the extraordinary professionalism and very friendly attitude of the staff there towards us, the visitors. I must also highly praise all the local guides we met everywhere, e.g. in Chobe, Hwange and Matobo National Parks. I want to emphasize that this journey is one of the most interesting that I have made around the world. I believe that my clients - friends were also satisfied with the set. Thanks to the travel agency Cultural Vibes Travel & Tours and Mr. Tongesai Mutematsaka. I recommend Cultural Vibes Travel & Tours to anyone considering a trip to Zimbabwe."

"Our guide Tongesai was incredibly respectful, punctual, and friendly. He also helped us with transfers to and from the airport. The experience of visiting Victoria Falls on the Zambia side was amazing. The scenery is wonderful!!!"
Javier Fragozo•22 June 2026
"Tongesai was awesome from the start. I knew he was a good tour operator because he answered all of my questions in a timely manner and no question was ever stupid. Everything was just as he said once we arrived and really it was better. We prepared for about a year in advance for this trip and the tour operator was instrumental and making this trip a success. I highly recommend this tour operator to anyone who wants to visit Zimbabwe, Zambia, and Botswana. Give Tongesai a call or email, and you will 100% not be disappointed. I have a very deep understanding of border crossing and transportation challenges in many African countries at this point because of the efforts of the tour operator. This makes my wife and I have very comfortable to approach another visit or look at visiting a different African country."
