A 7-day Tanzania safari costs $1,800-$12,000 per person in 2026. Budget camping costs about $1,800-$3,500, mid-range lodge trips cost $2,800-$4,900, and luxury safaris cost $5,500-$10,500 or more. The best time is the period that matches your wildlife goals and available dates. Compare verified Tanzania safari packages on SafariFind before booking.
One seven-day Tanzania safari can cost ten times more than another, even when both visit the Serengeti.
Tanzania Safari Cost in 2026: 7-Day Prices by Budget depend on transport, accommodation, park fees, and guide service. A seven-day trip costs $1,800-$3,500 in the budget tier, $2,800-$4,900 at mid-range level, and $5,500-$10,500 or more for luxury travel. These estimates describe safari costs per person, not always the full holiday cost.
Tanzania is a strong choice for travelers who want several major wildlife areas in one journey. A common seven-day route includes Tarangire, Ngorongoro, Serengeti, and Lake Manyara. One listed budget itinerary covers those four northern parks for about $2,490 per person with a private vehicle. [4]
Quick answer: A 7-day Tanzania safari costs about $1,800 for shared camping, $3,500 for a comfortable private trip, and $10,000 or more for peak-season luxury. The price usually covers park access, accommodation, meals, transport, and guiding. Compare the inclusions carefully because flights, Zanzibar stays, visas, and insurance may cost extra.
This guide explains each price tier in simple terms. It also shows what you receive for your money, how to reduce wasteful costs, and how to compare operators. SafariFind connects travelers with verified tour operators, package details, and authentic traveler reviews.
A 7-day Tanzania safari costs $1,800-$12,000 per person in 2026. Budget camping sits at the lower end, lodge-based travel fills the middle, and private luxury travel reaches $10,500 or more. The widest price differences come from room type, vehicle use, group size, and the time of travel. [1]
Known for: Tanzania safari packages often combine the Northern Circuit parks. Tarangire offers a strong start to a route, while Ngorongoro and Serengeti add different landscapes and wildlife settings. A seven-day plan gives travelers enough time to move between these areas without treating every park as a short stop.
Best for: Budget safaris suit travelers who value wildlife over private space. Mid-range trips suit couples and families who want a private vehicle and comfortable lodges. Luxury safaris suit travelers seeking premium camps, fly-in links, and private service.
Budget Tanzania safari packages cost about $1,800-$3,500 per person for seven days. The lower end usually uses camping, basic meals, and a shared vehicle. One sample trip costs about $1,800 and includes camping, a vehicle shared with six other travelers, basic meals, Tarangire, Ngorongoro, and Serengeti. [2]
Shared transport lowers the cost because several guests divide vehicle and guide expenses. However, you follow a group schedule and have less control over stops. Camping also reduces accommodation costs to about $50-$100 per night. [3]
Compare 7-day Tanzania safari packages by budget, route, and included services.
Mid-range Tanzania safari packages cost about $2,800-$4,900 per person for seven days. These trips commonly use lodge or tented-camp rooms, stronger meal plans, and more comfortable vehicles. A sample comfortable safari costs about $3,500, uses mid-range lodges, and provides a private vehicle for two travelers with a professional guide. [2]
Mid-range travel often gives the best balance for first-time visitors. You receive more privacy than a group safari, while avoiding the very high rates of premium camps. Accommodation alone may cost $150-$350 per night at this level. [3]
Luxury Tanzania safari packages cost $5,500-$10,500 or more per person for seven days. Luxury accommodation can cost $500-$1,500 or more per night. Premium trips may also use private vehicles, high-end camps, internal flights, and tailored guiding. [3]
Peak-season fly-in luxury travel can exceed $10,000 per person for seven days. Overall safari prices range from about $250-$1,500 per person per day, depending on the level of service and route. [6]
Tanzania safari prices come from five main costs: accommodation, park fees, transport, guiding, and meals. Park fees are usually a fixed part of the package, while room type and vehicle choice create the largest differences. Ask each operator for a written list of inclusions before you compare totals.
| Name | Price | Duration | Rating | Best For |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Budget camping safari | $1,800-$3,500 | 7 days | Compare current reviews | Shared travel and lower cost |
| Private mid-range safari | $2,800-$4,900 | 7 days | Compare current reviews | Couples and first-time visitors |
| Luxury safari | $5,500-$10,500+ | 7 days | Compare current reviews | Premium camps and private service |
The table shows planning ranges, not fixed quotes. SafariFind listings can help you compare operator prices and read traveler feedback. Ratings change as new reviews arrive, so check the current operator profile before you pay a deposit.
Accommodation costs about $50-$100 per night for budget travel, $150-$350 for mid-range stays, and $500-$1,500 or more for luxury camps. [3] Room style affects comfort, location, meals, and the level of service. Ask whether the price includes drinks, laundry, transfers, and staff tips.
Park fees are approximately $70-$100 per person per day across budget, mid-range, and luxury categories. [3] These charges support access to protected areas and form a major part of every itinerary. A cheaper safari does not always mean lower park costs. It often means less expensive rooms and shared transport.
Shared transport and guiding cost about $30-$60 per person per day. A private vehicle costs about $150-$300 per day, while luxury private service can cost $300 or more per day. [3] Group size matters because private transport becomes more affordable when two to six travelers share the daily vehicle rate.
Price range: A practical mid-range budget is about $3,500 per person for seven days. It can include lodges, a private vehicle for two people, meals, park fees, and a professional guide. [2]
Request a quote from verified Tanzania safari operators and compare service, reviews, and inclusions.
The best 7-day Tanzania safari depends on your comfort needs, group size, and wildlife goals. Choose shared camping for the lowest price, a private mid-range route for control and comfort, or luxury travel for premium camps and flexible service. Your choice should match the experience you value most.
First-time visitors often choose the Northern Circuit because one route can include Tarangire, Ngorongoro, Serengeti, and Lake Manyara. A private mid-range plan around $3,500 gives two travelers their own vehicle and professional guide. [2] This format also makes it easier to adjust daily stops.
A shared budget trip can work well for solo travelers and friends. The $1,800 sample itinerary shows how camping and group travel reduce the total cost. [2] Before booking, confirm the group size, camping setup, luggage limits, and departure point.
Couples often prefer a private vehicle because they can control the pace. Families should also ask about room layouts, child policies, driving times, and meal choices. A mid-range lodge safari usually offers a useful balance between comfort and cost.
Families planning a beach extension should compare a Tanzania safari and Zanzibar package as one trip. SafariFind’s Tanzania safari and Zanzibar packages booking guide explains how to review the safari and island portions together. Flights between regions, hotel nights, and transfers can change the final budget.
Wildlife photographers benefit from a private vehicle and a guide who understands light, distance, and animal behavior. Private transport costs about $150-$300 per day before the per-person split. [3] A private route also reduces the pressure to leave a sighting when other guests want to move.
Getting there: Build the quote around the safari start point, airport transfers, and any internal flights. The supplied price ranges describe safari costs, so ask whether international flights, visas, insurance, and Zanzibar nights are excluded. This step prevents a low headline price from becoming a surprise final bill.

Book a multi-day Tanzania safari online by setting a budget, checking inclusions, comparing verified operators, and requesting a written quote. Start with the total per-person price. Then confirm accommodation, vehicle type, park fees, meals, guide service, airport transfers, and cancellation terms.
These 2026 ranges come from current safari cost research. [1] A seven-day trip can start near $1,800 with shared camping, while private mid-range travel may cost $4,000-$6,000. Peak-season fly-in luxury trips can exceed $10,000. [6]
Ask every operator the same questions. Does the price include park fees? Is the vehicle shared or private? Does the guide stay with you throughout? Are meals, camping equipment, transfers, and taxes included?
Customer service matters as much as the itinerary. Read authentic traveler reviews to check communication, punctuality, vehicle condition, guide knowledge, and how the operator handled changes. SafariFind helps travelers compare tour operators and review package details in one marketplace.
Travel health planning also deserves attention. Read SafariFind’s guide to Tanzania health rules for South African travelers in 2026 before finalizing plans. Health advice can depend on your route and personal medical needs, so use an approved medical professional for current guidance.
Send your dates, group size, room needs, preferred parks, and budget. Request two versions when possible: a shared budget option and a private mid-range option. This comparison shows exactly what extra comfort and flexibility cost.
The lowest Tanzania safari price is not always the best value. A quote becomes useful only when you know the group size, accommodation standard, route, and included fees. Check these details before paying a deposit, especially when comparing budget camping with lodge-based travel.
Best time to visit: Choose dates based on your target wildlife experience, park route, and camp availability. Prices can change when demand rises, so ask operators for a date-specific quote in 2026. Travelers seeking the Serengeti migration should also ask where the route will focus during their exact travel month.
Do not judge an itinerary by the number of parks alone. Four parks in seven days can create long drives. Ask how many game-drive hours you receive and whether the plan includes full days inside the Serengeti or short transit stops.
A Tanzania safari and Zanzibar holiday combines wildlife with a beach stay, but the safari quote may not include island hotels or flights. Ask for one itemized total. The final package should show safari nights, Zanzibar nights, transfers, flights, meals, and taxes.
Travelers starting from the United Kingdom or Germany should request flight-inclusive and land-only versions. A land-only safari makes operator prices easier to compare. An inclusive package may save planning time, but you must check the airline, baggage rules, transfer times, and change policy.
Strong customer service means clear answers before payment and fast support during travel. Ask who handles emergencies, whether the guide carries communication equipment, and how the operator manages vehicle problems. Review counts and recent comments provide useful signals, but read the actual review text too.
SafariFind lists verified tour operators and authentic reviews so travelers can compare more than a headline price. Look for clear package pages, recent feedback, and a quote that matches your requested route. This process helps answer searches such as “best safari operators in Tanzania” without relying only on advertising claims.
A 7-day Tanzania safari costs about $1,800-$12,000 per person in 2026. Budget camping starts around $1,800, a comfortable private safari costs about $3,500, and luxury travel can exceed $10,000. Flights, insurance, visas, and Zanzibar stays may sit outside the safari price.
A Tanzania safari typically costs $250-$1,500 per person per day. For seven days, that equals about $1,750-$10,500 or more. Shared camping lowers the price, while private vehicles, premium camps, and fly-in travel raise the total. [6]
The best time to visit Serengeti depends on the wildlife event and area you want to see. Ask an operator to match your 2026 dates with the planned route, camp location, and game-drive focus. Request a date-specific quote because availability and seasonal pricing can change.
The best first-time Tanzania safari tours usually combine Tarangire, Ngorongoro, Serengeti, and Lake Manyara. A seven-day private mid-range itinerary costs about $3,500 per person in one current example. [2] Shared camping offers a lower-cost alternative near $1,800.
Tanzania safari and Zanzibar packages are not automatically cheaper than booking each part separately. Compare one itemized quote that lists safari nights, island nights, flights, transfers, meals, and taxes. This approach shows whether the package offers real value for your dates.

"Exceeded expectations and then some!!! From the planning stages to the final airport drop off, Kiliholidays was there supporting us every step of the way! For some situational awareness, earlier this year my friend and I decided to fulfill a lifelong dream of doing a safari in Tanzania. So there we were, two American women with no real knowledge of what this trip would entail, preparing to make a substantial investment in ourselves and our dream trip. Neither of us knew anyone who'd done a safari so we made up our own rules when it came to planning. Kiliholidays met all of our search criteria but it was the quality of communication that we had with Mack that had us convinced very quickly that we'd found our tour group. We were not wrong. Kiliholidays took care of us every step of the way and for two women traveling alone in unfamiliar territory, it's a big deal to feel safe. We felt very safe with this team, and what an experience we had!!! Steve our tour operator was fantastic! Not only was the safari absolutely incredible regarding the animals we saw, but we met people, we had amazing food thanks to Chef D, and we just had a ton of fun. When we weren't in complete awe at the beauty that surrounded us, or learning lessons that we could have never picked up on the Discovery Channel, we were laughing and exchanging stories, and generally just enjoying the thrill of the adventure. I can say that after this trip I finally understood what people mean when they talk about the bucket list. I've traveled a lot, all over the world, and I've never had an experience like this. We are already talking about another tour in the future! Thank you Mack, Steve and Chef D for bringing a dream we've had for a long time into reality!"

"In June of 2025 I went on my second safari in Tanzania with Kiliholidays, and it was even better than the first! The management took great care and a great deal of time to customize my 6-day safari to meet my needs, which included almost 4 days in the Serengeti. They had the patience to deal with dozens of messages and questions I sent prior to booking, and addressed all of my concerns. They booked us into the Embalakai tented camp in the Serengeti, meaning we were able to stay out on the game drive until it was almost dark. This made for excellent photo opportunities near sunset! Embalakai is a high-quality tented camp with amazing food and friendly staff. I believe that Kiliholidays provides very good to excellent accommodation and safari service at very competitive prices - it's one of the most affordable options out there, short of sleeping in campgrounds (which we did not do). The best part is that our guide and driver, Thomas, is extremely experienced, knowledgeable, and flexible: an all-around good man and a real pleasure to ride with for 6 days! Unless you want to spend thousands of dollars more, go with Kiliholidays and you won't be disappointed."

"Before my trip to Tanzania I mailed many tour oerators to find perfect safari for me and my friend and at the end I decided to book safari with Kiliholidays Tours & Safaris. The communication with Mack was without any problems. After I came to Arusha we met in his office and agreed all details about safari. There weren't any hidden cost and any bad surprises. Our trip went smoothly exactly like in a programme I got before. That was budget safari and we were supposed to join to other tourists but there weren't any other clients so we had private safari and the price didn't change. The service was really good - competent driver/guide and really talented cook. We spent wonderful time and discovered a beauty of Tanzania."

"My recent safari adventure with Kiliholidays Tours & Safaris was nothing short of a once-in-a-lifetime experience. From the moment we embarked on our journey, the team ensured that we were well taken care of, providing exceptional service and value for money. Our knowledgeable and skilled guide, Edward, went above and beyond to provide us with an unforgettable wildlife experience. His expertise and passion for wildlife shone through, and I'd rate him 11/10 stars. Not only did he know where to find the most spectacular sightings, but he also shared intriguing stories and facts about the animals we encountered. In addition to our incredible guide, Mr. Mood, our talented cook, made sure our culinary experience was top-notch. As a vegetarian, I was delighted by the variety of delicious dishes he prepared, especially his signature fresh onion soup. It's evident that he takes great pride in his work, ensuring that every meal was not only tasty but also nourishing. Before our trip, we communicated with Mack from Kiliholidays, who was extremely responsive and helpful on both WhatsApp and email. The itinerary he crafted was professionally designed and visually captivating, making it worthy of Instagram. Mack also offered us a fantastic price for the trip, making it 100% worth every penny. The entire journey was well-planned and executed seamlessly, allowing us to fully immerse ourselves in the Tanzanian experience. Overall, I highly recommend Kiliholidays Tours & Safaris for anyone looking to experience the magic of Tanzania. Their commitment to excellence in communications, service, value for money, and reliability is unparalleled. Don't miss out on the opportunity to embark on this unforgettable adventure!"
