Lamu tour packages in 2027 cost about $30 to $600 for many package styles, while luxury stays can cost much more. Lamu Island sits about 150 miles northeast of Mombasa and is known for Swahili architecture, dhow sailing, and beach trips. Compare hotel rates, flights, and boat tours before booking through verified SafariFind operators.
Lamu tour packages 2027: prices, hotels and boat trips give you several ways to plan a coastal holiday. You can book a simple guesthouse stay, a mid-range beach break, or a luxury itinerary with full board and transfers. The right choice depends on your hotel budget, trip length, and interest in boat excursions.
Lamu Island is about 150 miles northeast of Mombasa. The island is known for Swahili buildings, traditional dhow sailing, and its historic coastal setting [1]. That mix gives the trip a different feel from a standard beach resort holiday. You can spend the morning walking through old streets, then take a boat to a sandbank in the afternoon.
Quick answer: Lamu tour packages in 2027 range from low-cost trips near $30 to luxury plans costing $600 or more. A three-day fly-in holiday suits a short break, while a six-night plan allows time for beach activities and dhow trips. Hotel prices depend on season, room type, meals, and transfers.
This guide explains what Lamu packages include, how hotel prices compare, and how boat trips fit into your budget. It also covers flights, food, transfers, and booking checks. SafariFind connects travelers with verified tour operators, package details, and authentic traveler reviews, so you can compare the real parts of each offer.
Lamu tour packages in 2027 combine accommodation, transport, activities, or meals into one coastal holiday plan. Basic offers may cover a room and local activity. Higher priced plans can include flights, full board, road transfers, boat transfers, dhow sailing, and several hotels across Lamu and nearby islands.
Lamu Island is the main setting for most packages. Its Swahili heritage and dhow boats shape the visitor experience. A package may focus on the old town, beach time, seafood, sailing, snorkeling, or quiet hotel days. You should check the exact island and hotel before paying a deposit.
Known for: Lamu is known for Swahili architecture, traditional dhow sailing, and a coastal location northeast of Mombasa [1]. These details matter because the holiday is built around local history and water travel. It is not the same product as a large resort stay on Kenya’s south coast.
Best for: Lamu is best for travelers who want a slower beach trip, couples seeking a small hotel, and groups that want private boat time. Families should check boat safety, room layouts, meal plans, and transfer times before choosing a package.
A budget Lamu package may include a guesthouse, breakfast, and a local transfer. A mid-range package may add a better room, airport pickup, and one boat trip. A luxury package can include full board, domestic flights, private transfers, and stays at more than one coastal property.
SafariFind makes comparison easier when packages list their inclusions clearly. Look for the hotel name, room plan, airport transfer, boat type, and cancellation terms. A low headline price may exclude flights or boat fees. A higher quote may include almost every cost.
Compare 2027 Lamu tour packages with hotel and boat trip inclusions before you choose a travel date.
Lamu tour packages in 2027 cost about $30-$600 for common package styles, but luxury accommodation can push the total much higher. One Kenya vacation listing estimates local meals near $10, mid-range hotels at $30-$40 per night, and safari tours from about $150 per day [2].
Peponi Hotel lists selected 2027 bed-and-breakfast rates at $230 from March 1 to April 30, $190 from May 1 to June 30, and a further listed period at $165 [4]. These are useful planning figures, but you should confirm the exact dates, room type, taxes, and availability.
Peponi Hotel also appears in higher-end accommodation estimates. AfricanMecca reports beach accommodation rates of about $450-$750 per person per night sharing, with a small number of superior options reaching $1,000 or more [5]. The gap shows why two Lamu quotes can look very different even when both include a beach hotel.
| Name | Price | Duration | Rating | Best For |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Budget Lamu stay | About $30-$600 package range | Flexible | Check operator listing | Travelers watching daily costs |
| Peponi Hotel selected 2027 rates | $165-$230 bed and breakfast | Per night | Check current listing | Guests seeking a boutique hotel |
| Three-day fly-in tour | Request current quote | 3 days | Check operator listing | Short coastal breaks |
| Six-night luxury itinerary | £5,250 per person | 6 nights | Check itinerary provider | Full-board luxury travelers |
A six-night Lamu itinerary listed by CN Traveller costs £5,250 per person based on four sharing. The plan includes full board, domestic flights, boat and road transfers, Peponi Hotel, Tusitiri, and Manda Bay [8]. This is a luxury benchmark, not a typical budget price.
Prices in 2027 may change as operators confirm seats and rooms. Request a written quote that separates the hotel, flight, boat, meals, taxes, and transfers. SafariFind helps you read operator details and traveler reviews before you compare the total.
Request a 2027 Lamu quote from verified tour operators under your target budget and compare what each price includes.
The best Lamu hotel depends on your budget, preferred setting, and meal plan. Choose a guesthouse for a low daily cost, a boutique hotel for comfort and character, or a luxury itinerary for full board and planned transfers. Add a boat trip when water activities are a main reason for visiting.
Budget guesthouses work well for travelers who plan to eat local meals and spend much of the day outside. A Kenya vacation listing puts local meals near $10 and mid-range hotel stays near $30-$40 per night [2]. Ask whether the price includes breakfast, airport pickup, and the boat transfer to your hotel.
Mid-range B&Bs suit visitors who want a proper room and a simple daily plan. This option leaves room in the budget for a dhow trip, a seafood meal, or a sandbank picnic. It also gives you more control over which activities you pay for.
Luxury Lamu packages often combine several stays and private transfers. The six-night itinerary priced at £5,250 per person includes Peponi Hotel, Tusitiri, Manda Bay, full board, flights, and boat and road transfers [8]. This type of plan works best when you value ease and do not want to arrange each transfer yourself.
Peponi Hotel is a useful price reference for 2027. Its listed bed-and-breakfast prices show how dates affect a hotel quote. The $230 rate from March 1 to April 30 is higher than the listed $190 rate from May 1 to June 30 [4]. Always ask for the rate period in writing.
Manda Bay excursions can include a short boat ride, swimming, snorkeling, time on a sandbank, and a seafood meal [7]. This is a full-day water activity rather than a short transfer. Ask how long you stay on the water, whether gear is included, and what happens if sea conditions change.
Traditional dhow sailing is part of Lamu’s coastal identity. Some operators offer a sunset sail, a private dhow, or a shared route. The boat type affects the price, privacy, and schedule. A private boat gives you more control, while a shared trip may cost less.
Use the SafariFind catalog to compare packages with real inclusions, then read authentic reviews from past travelers. If you also want mainland wildlife, you can compare this coast-and-safari route with the Maasai Mara and Diani Beach package guide.
Start by choosing your trip length, hotel level, and flight plan. A three-day fly-in tour suits a short break, while six nights gives you time for hotel changes, beach days, and a full boat excursion. Confirm every transfer because Lamu travel often combines flights, roads, and boats.
Natural World Kenya Safaris advertises a three-day Lamu fly-in tour from Nairobi Wilson Airport to Manda Island airstrip for 2026 and 2027 [6]. The route is practical for travelers starting in Nairobi. Check baggage rules, flight times, transfer timing, and whether the package price includes the boat ride to your hotel.
Travelers arriving through Jomo Kenyatta International Airport may need a separate Nairobi connection before the domestic flight. Confirm the airport change before booking. You can also plan a wider Kenya trip by reading this 7-day Kenya safari itinerary and cost guide.
Natural World Kenya Safaris offers a clear example of a short fly-in format [6]. Africa Natural Tours states that it offers more than 450 Kenya tour packages across luxury, mid-range, and budget group categories [3]. A wide catalog helps you compare styles, but you still need to check the exact Lamu itinerary.
As of September 2026, 2027 rates and availability need confirmation from each operator. Hotel prices can vary by date, and boat plans can depend on the final itinerary. For a Nairobi stop before the coast, compare the Nairobi activities and safari prices guide.

Lamu tour packages in 2027 cost about $30-$600 for many package styles. Luxury hotel plans can cost much more. A Kenya vacation listing gives local meal costs near $10 and mid-range hotel rates of $30-$40 per night [2].
Peponi Hotel lists selected 2027 bed-and-breakfast rates of $230 from March 1 to April 30, $190 from May 1 to June 30, and another listed period at $165 [4]. Confirm the room type, dates, taxes, and availability before booking.
You can fly from Nairobi Wilson Airport to Manda Island airstrip on selected Lamu packages. Natural World Kenya Safaris advertises a three-day fly-in tour for 2026 and 2027 [6]. Your operator should arrange or explain the final boat transfer.
A Manda Bay boat trip can include a short ride, swimming, snorkeling, a sandbank picnic, and a seafood meal [7]. Ask whether the boat is private, whether equipment is included, and how the operator handles weather changes.
Three days works for a short fly-in holiday, while six nights gives you more time for beaches, boat trips, and more than one hotel. A listed six-night itinerary includes flights, transfers, full board, and several Lamu stays [8].
You can use SafariFind to compare verified tour operators, package prices, hotel inclusions, and authentic reviews. Ask for a quote that lists flights, rooms, meals, transfers, and boat trips separately.
Lamu tour packages in 2027 suit many budgets, from simple coastal stays to luxury plans with flights and full board. A short trip can use a three-day fly-in route from Nairobi. A longer holiday can add Manda Bay, dhow sailing, snorkeling, and several hotels.
Use the listed Peponi rates as a planning guide, not a final quote. The $165-$230 bed-and-breakfast figures show how dates affect hotel costs [4]. Luxury travelers should also compare the six-night £5,250 itinerary benchmark, which includes flights, meals, transfers, and multiple stays [8].
Compare the full cost before you book. Look at the room plan, flight, boat transfer, excursion, meals, and cancellation terms. Compare verified safari and coastal packages on SafariFind, read authentic reviews, and request a quote from an operator that matches your dates.
Lamu remains a strong choice for travelers who want Swahili history and time on the water. In 2027, early planning gives you more choice of hotels, flights, and boat schedules.

"We had an excellent safari experience with African Hagyko Safaris, and we were extremely satisfied with the entire trip from the planning stage to the very end of the safari. First of all, Bernard was outstanding throughout the whole process. His responses were always very quick, polite, and professional. We had quite a few requests and questions before the trip, including changes to the accommodation and itinerary, and he always listened carefully and did his best to accommodate our preferences. He handled everything efficiently and moved things forward very quickly, which made us feel that we were in reliable and capable hands. We really appreciated his flexibility and professionalism. Our driver-guide, Wachira, was also fantastic. He has extensive knowledge of wildlife and explained the animals and their behavior clearly, often adding some humor and jokes that made the game drives even more enjoyable. Whenever we had questions, he took the time to answer them thoroughly. What impressed us particularly was his ability to find the best possible position for wildlife viewing. Whenever something interesting was happening, he reacted quickly and positioned the vehicle extremely well, giving us some amazing views and photo opportunities. He can also speak a little Japanese, which was a nice surprise and may be especially reassuring for Japanese travelers. The accommodations were also excellent. We were very happy with all of the properties we stayed at. Mosquito protection was well arranged at each accommodation, which made us feel comfortable and secure, and the food was consistently delicious. And, of course, the wildlife experience itself was incredible. We were able to see the Big Five, as well as many other animals including crocodiles, hippos, giraffes, and many more. Unfortunately, we did not get to see a successful hunt from beginning to end, but we did witness predators chasing their prey and also saw animals feeding after a hunt. These were still fascinating and unforgettable experiences. Overall, we saw far more wildlife than we had expected and had many memorable encounters. In terms of price, their quotation was higher than some of the other safari companies we considered. However, after experiencing the safari ourselves, we felt that the quality and value we received actually exceeded the price we paid. The excellent coordination, knowledgeable and skilled guide, comfortable accommodations, private safari experience, and attention to our individual requests made the trip exceptionally worthwhile. Looking back, we are extremely satisfied with our decision to choose African Hagyko Safaris. We would definitely love to come back to Kenya and go on safari with them again. Whether you are visiting Kenya for your first safari or are already an experienced safari traveler, we can confidently recommend African Hagyko Safaris. They provided us with a well-organized, high-quality, and truly memorable safari experience. Thank you very much to Bernard and Wachira for making our trip so special!"

"Our 7 Days Best of Kenya Safari with Dallago Tours Kenya-Tanzania was an amazing experience from beginning to end. We traveled with our family, and having a private vehicle made the whole trip much more comfortable and flexible. The game drives were definitely the highlight of the safari. We saw elephants, lions, giraffes, zebras, buffaloes and many other animals in their natural environment. Our guide was knowledgeable, friendly and always made sure we had enough time to enjoy every wildlife sighting and take photos. The itinerary was well organized, the accommodation was comfortable and the food was good throughout the trip. We never felt rushed, and the guide explained a lot about the animals, parks and local culture along the way. Kenya is truly a beautiful country, and this safari gave us memories we will never forget. We are very happy that we chose Dallago Tours Kenya-Tanzania and would definitely recommend this 7-day safari to families, couples or anyone looking for a private and well-organized Kenya safari."
