About this safari
Set out on a privately guided 10-day safari through Kenya’s most diverse wildlife regions, combining Ol Pejeta Conservancy, Samburu, Lake Nakuru, Lake Naivasha and Maasai Mara. This route moves from the Mount Kenya region into the spectacular northern wilderness before continuing through the Rift Valley lakes and the renowned Maasai Mara. Spend two nights at Ol Pejeta Conservancy, one of Kenya’s leading rhino conservation destinations, with excellent opportunities to encounter black and white rhinos. Visit the Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary and search the Mount Kenya region for lions, elephants, buffaloes and other wildlife during safari excursions. Continue to Samburu for two nights among striking northern landscapes. Here, look for the Samburu Special Five: Grevy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe, gerenuk, Beisa oryx and Somali ostrich. Samburu also offers excellent opportunities for elephant, leopard, lion and cheetah sightings, making it a rewarding destination for specialist wildlife encounters as well as classic game viewing. The journey then includes one night at Lake Nakuru and one night at Lake Naivasha, adding two distinctive lake destinations to the itinerary. Finish with three nights in Maasai Mara, where open wilderness and abundant wildlife create memorable safari experiences. Across the route, you can encounter the Big Five while exploring varied habitats, from conservancy landscapes and northern bush country to lakes and Mara plains. Your package includes private transportation in a customized 4x4 safari Land Cruiser with pop-up roof, a professional and experienced safari driver-guide, Nairobi pick-up and drop-off, nine nights of safari accommodation, and meals as specified in the itinerary. Your grand Kenyan adventure begins in Nairobi, where your private safari driver-guide will meet you at your hotel, residence or agreed pick-up point.
Settle into your customized 4x4 Land Cruiser and travel north through Kenya's fertile central highlands, passing beautiful agricultural landscapes and small towns along the way.
As you approach the Mount Kenya region, the scenery becomes increasingly dramatic, with the mountain providing a spectacular backdrop on clear days.
Arrive at Ol Pejeta Conservancy and check into your safari lodge or tented camp before enjoying lunch.
Later, set out for your first afternoon game drive.
Ol Pejeta is renowned for its conservation work and provides excellent opportunities to see both black and white rhinos. The conservancy is also home to elephants, buffaloes, lions, giraffes, zebras and numerous antelope species.
Enjoy your first African sunset before returning to your lodge or camp for dinner.
