Kafue has only two curated short safari packages listed for 2026 and 2027, so early planning matters. [1]
Kafue National Park safari packages for 2027 should be booked 6 to 12 months ahead, especially for travel between June and October. Current package prices depend on the lodge, safari length, transfers, and activities. Compare live Zambia safari listings, request quotes, and check reviews before paying a deposit.
Kafue National Park safari packages for 2027 are best booked before the main dry season fills. Kafue is a large, remote park in Zambia. Its camps offer game drives, walking trips, fishing, and nights under open skies. The park suits travelers who want a quieter safari than the busiest routes.
As of September 2026, the supplied research lists two curated short safari packages for Kafue for 2026 and 2027. [1] That small selection makes timing more important. You may need to match camp dates, vehicle transfers, and flights before the trip can start.
Kafue National Park is not a simple last-minute destination. Roads, camp seasons, and lodge space shape your choices. Therefore, this guide explains when to book, what to check, and how to compare packages for 2027 without guessing at prices.
Quick answer: Book Kafue National Park safari packages 6 to 12 months ahead for a 2027 trip. June through October is the peak safari season in the supplied research. Start early if you want a certain lodge, walking safari, fishing slot, or private vehicle. Ask each operator for a full 2027 quote.
Kafue National Park safari packages for 2027 are planned trips that combine park stays with guided activities and travel logistics. They may include lodge rooms, meals, game drives, walking safaris, fishing, transfers, or camp nights. The exact mix depends on the operator and the camp.
Kafue National Park is a strong choice for travelers who want space and a slower safari pace. The available research points to short safari packages for 2026 and 2027, with prices and schedules shown through the listing source. [1] Treat each listing as a starting point, not a final quote.
Known for: Kafue is known for guided game viewing, walking safaris, fishing along selected parts of the Kafue River, and remote camp stays. Fishing visitors must book the activity through the lodge where they stay. [3] This rule makes lodge choice part of the booking decision.
Fig Tree Bush Camp offers game drives, three-hour walking safaris, and bush-camp star-bed stays. [8] These options suit visitors who want more than a vehicle loop. A walking safari also changes the day’s pace. You spend more time reading tracks, plants, and small signs.
Ila Safari Lodge is described as an environmentally conscious lodge and a pioneer of electric game drives. [8] That detail may matter if you want a lodge with a clear approach to vehicle use. Ask what the package includes before you compare it with a standard drive-based stay.
Fishing at Kafue uses selected spots along the Kafue River. Species mentioned in the fishing information include Kafue killifish, bream, barbel, freshwater pike, and cyprinid. [3] Fishing is therefore a planned lodge activity, not a casual extra that you can always add after arrival.
Kafue National Park safari packages often depend on a small number of camps and fixed transfer plans. A late booking may leave you with fewer room types or activity dates. This matters most for June to October, when the supplied research identifies peak safari demand.
TourRadar lists Kafue tours for 2026 and 2027. Its marketplace states that it includes more than 2,500 operators overall and reports 4.6 stars from more than 10,000 reviews. [5] That broad marketplace can help you see how tour choices are presented, but you should still check each Kafue itinerary line by line.
Compare Kafue safari package dates and 2027 booking advice before you ask operators for final availability.
Book Kafue National Park safari packages 6 to 12 months before your 2027 departure. This window gives you time to secure a camp, confirm transfers, choose activities, and compare complete quotes. Book earlier for June to October, private vehicles, or a fixed walking or fishing date.
June to October is the peak safari season identified in the supplied research. These months should be your first choice if you want the main dry-season travel window. They are also the months when demand can place more pressure on camp space and vehicle schedules.
Travel in July, August, or September if your dates are flexible within peak season. Start the search by September 2026 for a 2027 trip. A 6-month booking window reaches March 2027, while a 12-month window reaches September 2026.
Do not wait for a perfect price before asking for availability. The supplied sources do not provide one fixed Kafue price range for 2027. Instead, request a written quote that separates accommodation, meals, activities, park fees, transfers, and international travel.
A useful Kafue quote names the camp, dates, number of nights, room type, transfer route, and activities. It also states what happens if weather or road conditions change. Ask whether a three-hour walking safari, star-bed night, game drive, or fishing trip costs extra.
Price range: no single verified 2027 price range appears in the supplied research. That is not a reason to avoid Kafue. It is a reason to compare like with like. Two low prices may cover very different camp standards, transport plans, and inclusions.
Request a quote from verified Zambia safari operators for your 2027 dates and compare the full inclusions before you choose.
Start a Kafue safari booking by fixing your travel month, trip length, and preferred activities. Then compare camps and operators using the same checklist. A clear plan prevents a low headline rate from hiding transfer costs or missing activities.
Best for: Kafue is best for travelers who value quiet game viewing, guided walking, fishing, and small-camp stays. It also suits repeat safari visitors who want a different pace. Families and first-time visitors should ask more questions about road time and camp access.
Game drives work well for travelers who want broad wildlife coverage. Walking safaris suit people who enjoy a slower, closer look at the bush. Fishing visitors should select a lodge that can arrange the activity because bookings must go through the lodge. [3]
Fig Tree Bush Camp gives travelers options that include game drives, three-hour walking safaris, and bush-camp star-bed stays. [8] Ask whether your chosen package includes one of these activities or only lists them as optional experiences.
Ila Safari Lodge may suit travelers who want an environmentally conscious camp and electric game drives. [8] The word "electric" does not tell you the full vehicle plan, so ask about drive length, charging, seating, and guide arrangements.
A remote camp can feel special, but it may need more careful transport planning. Confirm where your operator meets you, how long the transfer takes, and whether the transfer price appears in the quote.
Getting there: Your operator should explain the route from your arrival point to the park. Many travelers add Kafue to a wider Lusaka trip or combine Zambia with Victoria Falls. Keep extra nights if a missed connection would affect your camp arrival.
Kafue does not work well with a rushed schedule. A short package may look simple online, but the transfer can shape your first and last safari day. Ask the operator to label travel time separately from game-viewing time.
SafariFind connects travelers with verified tour operators, package details, and authentic reviews. Read the fine print, then compare the same dates and inclusions across operators.
alt="Game drive vehicle near a Kafue National Park floodplain in Zambia"alt="Walking safari guide leading visitors through Kafue National Park"alt="Fishing boat on the Kafue River during a Zambia safari"alt="Bush camp star bed prepared for a Kafue National Park safari"
Check the final itinerary, inclusions, cancellation rules, and operator details before paying. The best Kafue National Park safari packages explain what you receive each day. They also identify costs that sit outside the package, such as flights, visas, tips, or private transfers.
A strong itinerary states the arrival point, transfer day, camp nights, safari activities, and departure plan. It should not use one phrase such as "full safari" without explaining the schedule. Ask how many drives happen each day and whether the guide stays with your group.
Walking safaris need special attention. Fig Tree Bush Camp lists three-hour walking safaris among its activities. [8] Ask about start times, group size, age rules, footwear, and what happens if you decide not to walk.
Fishing also needs a clear plan. The fishing source says visitors must book through the lodge where they stay. [3] Ask who supplies rods, bait, boats, guides, and permits. Confirm whether fishing takes place on a set day.
Use authentic reviews to look for repeated details. Search for comments about guide knowledge, airport transfers, food, room condition, and response times. One unhappy review may show a single problem. Several reviews that name the same problem deserve your attention.
TourRadar reports 4.6 stars from more than 10,000 reviews across its wider marketplace. [5] That figure is not a Kafue-only score, so do not use it as a substitute for reading Kafue reviews. Compare feedback for the exact operator and camp.
Current price: the supplied research confirms available 2026 and 2027 Kafue listings, but it does not give a fixed package price. [1] Ask for a current quote instead of relying on an old blog rate. Prices change when rooms, transfers, activities, and exchange rates change.
Request a quote that answers these questions:
Keep a second date or camp in reserve. This is useful when your first choice has no space. You can also compare Kafue with other Zambia routes. For example, travelers may review a 7-day Luangwa Valley safari itinerary for 2027 before choosing a park.
A backup plan does not mean settling for less. It gives you a clear choice when a camp cannot confirm your preferred dates. That small step can save time during the busiest booking months.
Book Kafue National Park safari packages 6 to 12 months before your 2027 trip. Book earlier for June to October, private vehicles, fishing, walking safaris, or a specific camp.
The best time to visit Kafue National Park is June to October, which the supplied research identifies as peak safari season. These months are also the main booking period, so request availability early.
No fixed 2027 price range appears in the supplied research. Package cost depends on the camp, nights, transfers, activities, and vehicle type. Request a current quote with every inclusion listed.
Yes, fishing is offered at selected spots along the Kafue River. Visitors must book the activity through the lodge where they stay. Fish mentioned in the available information include bream, barbel, freshwater pike, cyprinid, and Kafue killifish. [3]
Available activities can include game drives, three-hour walking safaris, fishing, and bush-camp star-bed stays. Fig Tree Bush Camp lists these activity options, while Ila Safari Lodge is described as a pioneer of electric game drives. [8]

"On 10.9. until 1.10. In 2023, I went on a trip to Botswana, Zimbabwe and a short visit to Zambia with my clients - friends. I carefully prepared the trip in cooperation with the manager of Cultural Vibes Travel & Tours, Mr. Tongesai Mutematsaka. After arriving in Gaborone we organized a short tour of the city ourselves and met Tongesai in Maun. Tongesai was our driver and guide practically the whole way. We visited the Okavango River Delta and its surroundings (Moremi Reserve, Mokoro boat cruise, flight over the Okavango Delta. This was followed by a visit to the Makgadikgadi Salt Flats, then the Elephant Sands area and in Botswana Chobe National Park with a cruise on the Chobe River. Then we crossed to Zimbabwe, which was the main part of our journey. In the Victoria Falls area, we visited the Monde settlement, took a helicopter flight over Victoria Falls, followed by a cruise on the Zambezi River as part of a visit to the national park of the same name. We also walked past Victoria Falls on the Zimbabwean side and had a Boma dinner in the evening (too much of a "tourist thing"). On the Zambian side of the falls we saw white rhinos in Mosi - oa - Tunya National Park, then visited the museum in Livingstone and walked the Zambian side of the falls. From Victoria Falls, we headed to Hwange National Park, where we had a beautiful program - a safari, and after Hwange, there was also a very interesting program in Matobo National Park (there, among other things, white rhinos (a mother with her little daughter), beautiful rock formations and prehistoric cave drawings. The next place visited was Khami with very interesting buildings, and then we visited the ruins of Great Zimbabwe, which are among the most important world monuments. This was followed by a visit to the Chinhoya Karst and finally the gallery in Harare. I would also like to comment on the provision of services: Accommodation in the hotels was at the standard, expected level, only the service at the Great Zimbabwe Hotel was rather lazy. Accommodation in lodges - very good and the best accommodation was in Iganyana tented camp in Hwange National Park, mainly due to the extraordinary professionalism and very friendly attitude of the staff there towards us, the visitors. I must also highly praise all the local guides we met everywhere, e.g. in Chobe, Hwange and Matobo National Parks. I want to emphasize that this journey is one of the most interesting that I have made around the world. I believe that my clients - friends were also satisfied with the set. Thanks to the travel agency Cultural Vibes Travel & Tours and Mr. Tongesai Mutematsaka. I recommend Cultural Vibes Travel & Tours to anyone considering a trip to Zimbabwe."

"Tongesai was awesome from the start. I knew he was a good tour operator because he answered all of my questions in a timely manner and no question was ever stupid. Everything was just as he said once we arrived and really it was better. We prepared for about a year in advance for this trip and the tour operator was instrumental and making this trip a success. I highly recommend this tour operator to anyone who wants to visit Zimbabwe, Zambia, and Botswana. Give Tongesai a call or email, and you will 100% not be disappointed. I have a very deep understanding of border crossing and transportation challenges in many African countries at this point because of the efforts of the tour operator. This makes my wife and I have very comfortable to approach another visit or look at visiting a different African country."
