About this safari
Thirteen days across Tanzania's northern circuit and out to the Indian Ocean: the baobabs and elephant herds of Tarangire, the floor of the Ngorongoro Crater, the big cat country of the Seronera plains, and the Mara River crossings of the Great Migration.
The cultural detours are part of the route, not an add-on: the market town of Mto wa Mbu, a Maasai boma, and a morning hunting with the Hadzabe at Lake Eyasi. There is a sunrise balloon flight over the northern Serengeti with breakfast laid out under an acacia, and then three nights doing very little at all on the Zanzibar coast.

Tarangire National Park • Lake Burunge Tented Camp
You drive to Tarangire, a park defined by two things: enormous baobabs, and elephants in family bands numbering in the dozens. A picnic lunch in the park, then game viewing continues into the afternoon before you reach the lodge.
