Burundi has protected areas and community-led restoration initiatives, but the available evidence does not yet document a nationwide community-conservancy system equivalent to Kenya’s. Its strongest foundations are local environmental associations, riverside communities, agroforestry groups and community involvement around Lake Tanganyika.

A Zimbabwe safari in 2027 costs about $900 for three days, $999 for a typical four-day Victoria Falls and Hwange trip, and up to $8,000 for 10 days. Daily rates range from $175 to $500 per person. April to June offers the fullest Victoria Falls flow, while SafariFind helps you compare verified operators and safari packages.
One 10-day Zimbabwe safari can cost nearly nine times more than a three-day trip, depending on lodge level and included activities.
Zimbabwe Safari Cost 2027: What a Trip Really Costs depends on trip length, lodge class, and activities. A short safari starts near $900, while a 10-day journey can reach $8,000 per person [2]. Luxury trips can pass $10,000 for one week, especially when premium lodges and private services are included.
Zimbabwe gives you more than a standard game-drive holiday. You can pair Hwange wildlife viewing with Victoria Falls, add walking activities, or choose a remote wilderness camp. You can also build a trip around Zimbabwe safari destinations such as Matobo, Matusadona, and Great Zimbabwe.
The figures in this guide reflect research available in August 2026 for travel planning in 2027. They are useful planning ranges, not fixed quotes. Always check what each operator includes before you pay a deposit.
Quick answer: A Zimbabwe safari costs $175-$500 per person each day in 2027. A three-day trip starts around $900, and a four-day Victoria Falls and Hwange package costs about $999. Flights, drinks, and tips usually add to the advertised price [1][2].
Zimbabwe safari packages usually include lodging, meals, game drives, park entrance fees, and guide services. A daily rate of $175-$500 reflects the accommodation standard and the number of activities included [1]. Therefore, two trips with the same duration can have very different prices.
Standard safari packages cover the main costs of being on safari. These costs often include a room or tented camp, meals, scheduled game drives, park fees, and a professional guide [1]. Ask whether transfers, drinks, laundry, and airport pickups also appear in the quote.
Hwange National Park is often the main wildlife stop on a Zimbabwe itinerary. Travelers can review the detailed Hwange safari package cost guide before comparing routes. A longer stay may raise the total, but it can lower the average cost of transport per day.
Accommodation is the largest price factor after trip length. A four-star comfort safari is listed at $700-$1,100, while four-star luxury costs $950-$1,450. Five-star luxury reaches $2,650-$2,950 in the cited pricing guide [3]. These figures show why you should compare lodge levels carefully.
Activities also shape the final bill. A package with daily game drives may cost less than one that adds private vehicles, walking safaris, or premium transfers. The right choice depends on whether you value a lower price, more privacy, or a wider range of experiences.
Compare Zimbabwe safari packages for 2027 and request quotes from verified operators before choosing your lodge level, route, and inclusions.
A three-day Zimbabwe safari starts at about $900, while a 10-day safari can reach $8,000 per person. A four-day Victoria Falls and Hwange package costs about $999, making it a useful mid-length benchmark for 2027 planning [1][2]. Flights and personal extras sit outside these core package figures.
Budget trips focus on shorter stays and practical accommodation. They can suit travelers who want a first wildlife experience without paying for a private vehicle. Comfort trips add better rooms, stronger meal plans, and more polished service.
Luxury safaris use high-end camps, private guides, and more flexible schedules. The cited luxury guide lists five-star rates between $2,650 and $2,950 for its Zimbabwe safari category [3]. A luxury trip may also include exclusive activities, but you must confirm each item in writing.
| Name | Price | Duration | Rating | Best For |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Short Zimbabwe safari | From $900 | 3 days | Not provided | First-time visitors and tight schedules |
| Victoria Falls and Hwange package | About $999 | 4 days | Not provided | Falls and wildlife in one trip |
| Comfort safari | $700-$1,100 | Varies | Not provided | Travelers wanting value and comfort |
| Luxury safari | $950-$1,450 | Varies | Not provided | Private rooms and upgraded service |
| Five-star luxury safari | $2,650-$2,950 | Varies | Not provided | High-end lodge and camp stays |
Victoria Falls accommodation starts around $215 per person per night at four-star riverside lodges. Five-star properties cost about $400-$700 per person per night in the cited 2027 pricing guide [5]. These rates can strongly affect a short trip because lodging forms a large share of the total.
Compare Zimbabwe tour operators and ask for a 2027 quote that fits your budget. Request the same details from each operator so you compare like with like.
The best Zimbabwe safari plan matches your budget to one clear route and trip length. Start with three days for a short wildlife break, four days for Victoria Falls and Hwange, or up to 10 days for a broader journey. Then confirm transport, meals, park fees, activities, and personal costs.
Victoria Falls and Hwange work well together for travelers who want scenery and wildlife. The four-day combination package listed by TourRadar costs about $999 [1]. Travelers who want more history can add a visit to Great Zimbabwe; the Great Zimbabwe tour guide explains how that stop fits into a 2027 trip.
Matobo National Park suits travelers who want a different landscape and a shorter extension. You can read the Matobo safari package guide when comparing this option with Hwange.
Victoria Falls has its fullest flow from April to June, after the rainy season [5]. This period suits visitors who place the waterfall above wildlife viewing. Choose your preferred experience first, then ask operators for 2027 availability and rates.
Remote locations can add transfer costs. For example, links to places such as Kazuma Pan National Park, Ngamo Plains, and Mavuradonha Wilderness may require a more detailed route plan. Do not assume a low daily rate includes every road transfer.
Extra safari costs include drinks, gratuities, and flights [1]. A clear quote helps you avoid surprises. SafariFind connects travelers with verified operators, so you can compare package details and read authentic traveler reviews before making a decision.
Nearby planning options include Mutarazi Falls, Chinhoyi Caves, Mutirikwi Beach, and Beitbridge. These links help you build a wider Zimbabwe route, but each addition needs a fresh transport and lodging quote.
A Zimbabwe safari costs about $900 for three days and up to $8,000 for 10 days in 2027 [2]. Daily rates range from $175 to $500, based on lodging and included activities [1]. Flights, drinks, and gratuities can increase the final cost.
A standard Zimbabwe safari package usually includes lodging, meals, game drives, park entrance fees, and guide services [1]. Always check the written quote for transfers, drinks, tips, laundry, and flights because these items may cost extra.
A four-day Victoria Falls and Hwange safari costs about $999 based on a listed package price [1]. The total may change with lodge class, room type, travel dates, and added activities.
Zimbabwe safari prices cover a wide range, from $175 to $500 per person daily [1]. The final comparison depends on accommodation, transport, park fees, and activities. Compare full package inclusions instead of comparing headline prices alone.
The best time to see Victoria Falls at its fullest is April to June, after the rainy season [5]. Travelers who prefer a different water level should ask operators about current conditions before booking a 2027 departure.
SafariFind helps you book a Zimbabwe safari by connecting you with verified tour operators and listed packages. Compare prices, review inclusions, request a quote, and read authentic traveler feedback before choosing your 2027 trip.
A Zimbabwe safari is available at several price levels in 2027, from $900 for three days to $8,000 for 10 days [2]. A four-day Victoria Falls and Hwange trip near $999 offers a clear starting point for many travelers [1]. Comfort and luxury options cost more because they use upgraded lodging and add more services.
Choose a short route if your budget is limited. Choose a longer journey if you want more wildlife areas and slower travel. April to June is the strongest choice for the fullest Victoria Falls flow [5]. Keep extra money for flights, drinks, tips, and other personal costs.

"Cultural Vibes Travel and Tours has proved to be excellent yet again as this is now the third time, we have used them and a much-needed break after almost 3 years with the Covid pandemic. Tongesai is extremely reliable, professional, knowledgeable and does everything to make your trip a memorable experience. Compared to local larger companies, Tongesai’s individual package rates are more reasonable and come with a customized touch. We felt that our holiday with Tongesai was much better and suited us more so than if we had booked through a larger company. His individual tailoring, personal involvement and attention to detail pays off in the smooth running of your trip. Our visits to the Victoria Falls, both sides from Zimbabwe and Zambia were magnificent and never cease to amaze us. On this trip Tongesai arranged for a private sunset cruise on the Zambezi just for our family of four instead of on the larger vessels, which was a very pleasant alternative. The boat trip in Chobe is magical and a must if you venture into Botswana. Wildlife was in abundance, including lion, elephant, wildebeest, buffalo, puku, kudu, bushbuck, waterbuck, impala, gemsbok, steenbok, sable and roan antelope, etc. We even saw a relative of Cecil, the famous black-maned lion, ‘once a true king of Hwange National Park’. I have no hesitation in recommending the company for arranging tours in Zimbabwe, Zambia and Botswana - we will definitely be seeing him again. He is currently setting up arrangements with colleagues in Kruger National Park to venture into South Africa and I wish him every success with that."

"On 10.9. until 1.10. In 2023, I went on a trip to Botswana, Zimbabwe and a short visit to Zambia with my clients - friends. I carefully prepared the trip in cooperation with the manager of Cultural Vibes Travel & Tours, Mr. Tongesai Mutematsaka. After arriving in Gaborone we organized a short tour of the city ourselves and met Tongesai in Maun. Tongesai was our driver and guide practically the whole way. We visited the Okavango River Delta and its surroundings (Moremi Reserve, Mokoro boat cruise, flight over the Okavango Delta. This was followed by a visit to the Makgadikgadi Salt Flats, then the Elephant Sands area and in Botswana Chobe National Park with a cruise on the Chobe River. Then we crossed to Zimbabwe, which was the main part of our journey. In the Victoria Falls area, we visited the Monde settlement, took a helicopter flight over Victoria Falls, followed by a cruise on the Zambezi River as part of a visit to the national park of the same name. We also walked past Victoria Falls on the Zimbabwean side and had a Boma dinner in the evening (too much of a "tourist thing"). On the Zambian side of the falls we saw white rhinos in Mosi - oa - Tunya National Park, then visited the museum in Livingstone and walked the Zambian side of the falls. From Victoria Falls, we headed to Hwange National Park, where we had a beautiful program - a safari, and after Hwange, there was also a very interesting program in Matobo National Park (there, among other things, white rhinos (a mother with her little daughter), beautiful rock formations and prehistoric cave drawings. The next place visited was Khami with very interesting buildings, and then we visited the ruins of Great Zimbabwe, which are among the most important world monuments. This was followed by a visit to the Chinhoya Karst and finally the gallery in Harare. I would also like to comment on the provision of services: Accommodation in the hotels was at the standard, expected level, only the service at the Great Zimbabwe Hotel was rather lazy. Accommodation in lodges - very good and the best accommodation was in Iganyana tented camp in Hwange National Park, mainly due to the extraordinary professionalism and very friendly attitude of the staff there towards us, the visitors. I must also highly praise all the local guides we met everywhere, e.g. in Chobe, Hwange and Matobo National Parks. I want to emphasize that this journey is one of the most interesting that I have made around the world. I believe that my clients - friends were also satisfied with the set. Thanks to the travel agency Cultural Vibes Travel & Tours and Mr. Tongesai Mutematsaka. I recommend Cultural Vibes Travel & Tours to anyone considering a trip to Zimbabwe."

"My travel companions and I chose the 4 day experience. Technically it is really a 3 day experience, because the last day they provide airport transportation. I feel they go above and beyond in making sure they are providing their customers with a safe, exciting and exceptional experience. Gari was our driver/guide in Zimbabwe, and was friendly, helpful, and courteous. Gari either made sure we were where we needed to be or provided his own guide trip to the Victoria Falls. He even provided the rain gear, which is most necessary. Gari and his "boss" Mr T. went above and beyond when Delta postponed our flight by a day, by helping to make sure that the connecting airline would change our reservation. They then made sure we got to the airport on time, a day later. They are always willing to provide any additional things that you would like to see and do. If you looking for a guided tour company, this is the one to use, and one that I would have no hesitation in using again."

"First, Tongesai Mtematsaka was excellent with communications and service. We couldn’t have asked for better. My questions via email were promptly answered. His English was excellent, and better. He was always on time in meeting us, coming and going. Our two hour trips from VIc Falls to the sable sands lodge, and then from the lodge to the Vic Falls airport were a highlight to our entire Africa trip. My wife and I will be discussing various aspects from the discussions with Tongesai for some time to come. By patiently answering my many questions he educated my wife and I about Zimbabwe and the region - culture, practices and assets of the people, typical family life, economy, weather, etc., and possibilities and trends into the future - all believable and detailed. The staff and facilities at the sable sands lodge were all excellent, beginning with Michelle’s clear instructions and cautions. She was a delight. We were asked if we wanted to take a charming hut as close as we could get to the marvelous watering hole there and got it. Incredibly we were greeted by a dust-cloud from a herd of maybe 100 Cape buffalo running to the water - unbelievable! The meals prepared by So and Derik were really good, throughout. MC, our drive guide was excellent and very accommodating to all the guests in the comfortable and safe-feeling, open 4x4. We met some nice co-guests. We saw so many animals on our safari that I will not attempt to recall here. I would just say that the many watering holes in the Hwange park were impressive, As an environmentalist myself I was very impressed with the solar powered system for exploiting the aquifers, and the foresight of the authorities in developing and maintains these. I know the history going back to the 1920’s, but if there wasn’t maintainence and upgrade the animals could not continue, especially with drought effects of climate change. Finally, I must comment on the fact that our first night in our hut was spent listening to the rumblings of the elephant just outside out hut. In the morning the tracks outside our hut showed how close our visitor was. We knew then that Michelle’s cautions were serious. But then more, the second night we had a lioness spend the night outside our hut, perhaps roaring a mating call. At first light MC came by with the truck and asked if we wanted to see the lion. I shot out with my camera. What an experience!! We hope our parting tip to the group of 16 people providing excellent service was meaningful. I will certainly recommend this trip to anyone who will hear me. What a privilege!!!"

"We booked our Zimbabwe trip with Cultural Vibes Travel & Tours following a recommendation from Nhongo Safaris in South Africa. Tongesai is a great communicator, and the booking process was quick, easy, and well organized. We were happy with the quote provided and were able to easily pay online. Tongesai was waiting for us at Victoria Falls Airport to take us to our accommodation. He has arranged an amazing whirlwind 48 hour visit, that was packed with a sunset cruise on the Zambezi, Morning Game drive, he accompanied us on an amazing walk of the Victoria falls and arranged an African experience dinner in the evening. It was so memorable, and everything we wanted! Overall, it was an fantastic trip, with a great guide, and we would highly recommend it for anyone considering a trip to Victoria Falls. For our next visit, we will definitely be reaching out to Tongesai and thoroughly recommend to all our friends."
