Singaporean citizens travelling directly from Singapore to Zimbabwe generally do not need a yellow fever certificate, but Zimbabwe requires proof after arrival from a yellow-fever-risk country or a qualifying transit. Malaria prevention and up-to-date routine vaccinations should be discussed with a travel-health professional before departure.

Zambia Safari Parks: 6 Best Wildlife Areas in 2026 include South Luangwa, Lower Zambezi, Kafue, Liuwa Plain, North Luangwa, and Lochinvar. A seven-day Zambia safari costs an estimated $3,800–$12,000 per person. June to October is the best general travel period for wildlife viewing, dry roads, and clear days.
Zambia has 20 national parks, yet six areas stand out for different wildlife experiences in 2026. [7] Zambia Safari Parks: 6 Best Wildlife Areas in 2026 is a practical guide to those places. It explains what each area is known for, who should visit, and how to plan a route.
South Luangwa leads for walking safaris and leopard viewing. Lower Zambezi adds canoe and boat trips. Kafue offers remote wilderness, while Liuwa Plain is known for open landscapes and seasonal wildlife movement. North Luangwa and Lochinvar offer quieter, less familiar settings. [1][2]
Quick answer: South Luangwa is the best all-round choice for first-time visitors. Lower Zambezi is best for water-based game viewing, and Kafue is best for remote wilderness. Liuwa Plain, North Luangwa, and Lochinvar suit travelers seeking open space, fewer visitors, or a more unusual Zambia safari.
This guide uses current 2026 research and clearly marked source facts. Prices are estimates from the supplied research summary. They do not state which flights, lodging, park fees, meals, transfers, or activities each operator includes.
SafariFind connects travelers with verified tour operators, package details, and authentic traveler reviews. Use those details to compare what each quote includes before you choose a park or lodge.
The six best Zambia safari parks and wildlife areas in 2026 are South Luangwa, Lower Zambezi, Kafue, Liuwa Plain, North Luangwa, and Lochinvar. Each area offers a different reason to travel. South Luangwa focuses on walking and big cats, while Lower Zambezi combines land and water activities. [1][2]
South Luangwa is known for high animal concentrations and strong leopard-viewing opportunities. [1] Walking safaris in South Luangwa began in the 1960s, making the park an early pioneer of the walking-safari tradition. [1] That history still shapes the park’s appeal for travelers who want to explore on foot.
Best for: First-time Zambia visitors, walking safaris, leopard viewing, and classic wildlife drives. South Luangwa is a strong choice when you want one park with several ways to experience the bush.
Walking changes the pace of a safari. You focus on tracks, sounds, plants, and small signs of animal movement. A vehicle safari still matters, but guided walks add a closer view of the landscape without relying only on long drives.
Compare verified South Luangwa safari packages and request a quote from operators listed on SafariFind.
Lower Zambezi is known for boat safaris and canoe trips alongside land-based wildlife viewing. [2] This mix gives travelers more than one way to explore. You can spend part of the day on a game drive, then see the river and its banks from the water.
Best for: Travelers who want variety, water activities, and a balance between land and river experiences. Lower Zambezi is also a useful choice for a multi-park itinerary with South Luangwa or another major wildlife area.
Kafue is known for remote wilderness and a sense of space. [2] The park suits travelers who value a quieter setting and want to spend more time away from busy safari routes. Its remote character makes planning important, especially when arranging transfers between camps.
Best for: Experienced safari travelers, photographers, and visitors who prefer wilderness over a fixed list of famous sightings. Kafue can form the main focus of a trip or add depth to a longer Zambia itinerary.
Liuwa Plain is known for open landscapes and seasonal wildlife experiences. [2] The broad setting creates a different visual style from river valleys and woodland areas. Visitors should plan around seasonal conditions and confirm the best access details with their operator.
Best for: Travelers who want wide horizons, unusual scenery, and a less common safari destination. Liuwa Plain works well for visitors who have already seen classic safari parks and want a fresh landscape.
North Luangwa is one of the six wildlife areas highlighted for Zambia safaris in 2026. [2] Its inclusion makes it useful for travelers who want to look beyond the better-known South Luangwa. Ask operators about access, camp style, and the activities available during your travel dates.
Best for: Travelers seeking a quieter Luangwa experience and a more specialized route. North Luangwa can suit guests who enjoy remote travel and want a guide-led itinerary built around a specific wildlife goal.
Lochinvar is one of Zambia’s six highlighted safari regions for 2026. [2] The area adds another option for travelers building a broader Zambia journey. It is especially relevant when your itinerary values landscape variety rather than visiting only the most established safari names.
Best for: Repeat visitors, curious explorers, and travelers planning a multi-area route. Ask for a clear daily plan, transfer times, and the seasonal activities included in your quote.
South Luangwa is the strongest all-round choice for walking and leopard viewing, while Lower Zambezi stands out for boat and canoe trips. Kafue offers remote wilderness. Liuwa Plain, North Luangwa, and Lochinvar provide different landscapes and quieter alternatives. The best choice depends on your activity, travel style, and route.

Price range: A seven-day Zambia safari costs an estimated $3,800–$12,000 per person in 2026. The supplied research does not define operator categories or package inclusions. Therefore, treat this figure as a planning range, not a fixed rate.
Your final quote can depend on the park, camp type, private or shared travel, transfers, and activities. Ask whether the price includes internal flights, road transfers, meals, drinks, park fees, guide services, and canoe or walking activities. Request every item in writing.
Duration: Seven days is a useful planning length because it allows a focused stay or a simple combination of areas. A single-park trip gives you more time in one landscape. A multi-park route gives variety but adds transfers and planning needs.
SafariFind helps you compare package prices and operator information in one place. Compare seven-day Zambia safari packages within your budget and read authentic reviews before requesting quotes.
June to October is the best general period to visit Zambia for a safari in 2026. The supplied research identifies these months as the main travel window. Confirm park access and activity schedules with your operator because conditions and services can differ between areas.
South Luangwa is the clearest choice when walking safaris define your trip. Walking safaris began there in the 1960s, and the park remains closely linked with that tradition. [1] If you prefer water activities, Lower Zambezi offers boat and canoe options beside land-based viewing. [2]
Kafue, Liuwa Plain, North Luangwa, and Lochinvar require careful route planning. Their different settings can change the feel of your trip. Ask about roads, transfers, camp opening dates, and activities available during your chosen month.
For a month-by-month planning view, read the Zambia safari best time guide for 2026. It can help you match dates with your preferred park and activity.
Getting there: Zambia safari itineraries commonly begin with arrival in Lusaka, followed by road transfers or charter flights arranged by the operator. One 2026 itinerary example included a private charter from Lusaka to Kafue and a later private charter from Lufupa to Jeki. [8]
That example shows why you should ask for a full transport plan. Confirm the aircraft type, luggage limits, transfer points, travel time, and backup plan. A low package price may not include every internal transfer.
Health and entry rules depend on your nationality and current travel documents. Chinese travelers can review the 2026 Zambia health rules for Chinese travelers. Brazilian travelers can use the guide to Zambia vaccinations and health rules for Brazilians.
Chinese citizens should also check the current Zambia visa guidance for 2026. Brazilian citizens can review the matching Zambia visa guide for Brazilian travelers.
Pack light, neutral clothing, closed walking shoes, sun protection, and a small day bag. Ask your operator for exact luggage rules before flying between camps.
Start by choosing one main wildlife goal, then select the park that matches it. South Luangwa suits walking and leopard viewing. Lower Zambezi suits water activities. Kafue suits remote wilderness. A clear goal helps you compare routes, prices, and travel times.
A package price alone does not explain the value of a Zambia safari. Compare the number of nights, camp level, transfers, meals, park fees, guide services, and activities. Also check whether the itinerary uses road transfers or private charters.
SafariFind connects you with verified operators and authentic reviews. Compare Zambia tour operators with verified profiles and traveler feedback before you choose a package.
One park can provide a deeper experience with fewer transfers. Two parks can add variety but may reduce time in camp. A route that combines South Luangwa with Lower Zambezi creates a strong contrast between walking, land viewing, and water activities.
Kafue works well for travelers who want remote wilderness. Liuwa Plain, North Luangwa, and Lochinvar can suit repeat visitors or travelers who want a less familiar route. Ask the operator why each area belongs in your plan.
Lodge choice affects your comfort, location, and daily rhythm. A lodge near a key activity may reduce transfer time. A remote camp may provide a stronger wilderness setting but need more detailed logistics.

"On 10.9. until 1.10. In 2023, I went on a trip to Botswana, Zimbabwe and a short visit to Zambia with my clients - friends. I carefully prepared the trip in cooperation with the manager of Cultural Vibes Travel & Tours, Mr. Tongesai Mutematsaka. After arriving in Gaborone we organized a short tour of the city ourselves and met Tongesai in Maun. Tongesai was our driver and guide practically the whole way. We visited the Okavango River Delta and its surroundings (Moremi Reserve, Mokoro boat cruise, flight over the Okavango Delta. This was followed by a visit to the Makgadikgadi Salt Flats, then the Elephant Sands area and in Botswana Chobe National Park with a cruise on the Chobe River. Then we crossed to Zimbabwe, which was the main part of our journey. In the Victoria Falls area, we visited the Monde settlement, took a helicopter flight over Victoria Falls, followed by a cruise on the Zambezi River as part of a visit to the national park of the same name. We also walked past Victoria Falls on the Zimbabwean side and had a Boma dinner in the evening (too much of a "tourist thing"). On the Zambian side of the falls we saw white rhinos in Mosi - oa - Tunya National Park, then visited the museum in Livingstone and walked the Zambian side of the falls. From Victoria Falls, we headed to Hwange National Park, where we had a beautiful program - a safari, and after Hwange, there was also a very interesting program in Matobo National Park (there, among other things, white rhinos (a mother with her little daughter), beautiful rock formations and prehistoric cave drawings. The next place visited was Khami with very interesting buildings, and then we visited the ruins of Great Zimbabwe, which are among the most important world monuments. This was followed by a visit to the Chinhoya Karst and finally the gallery in Harare. I would also like to comment on the provision of services: Accommodation in the hotels was at the standard, expected level, only the service at the Great Zimbabwe Hotel was rather lazy. Accommodation in lodges - very good and the best accommodation was in Iganyana tented camp in Hwange National Park, mainly due to the extraordinary professionalism and very friendly attitude of the staff there towards us, the visitors. I must also highly praise all the local guides we met everywhere, e.g. in Chobe, Hwange and Matobo National Parks. I want to emphasize that this journey is one of the most interesting that I have made around the world. I believe that my clients - friends were also satisfied with the set. Thanks to the travel agency Cultural Vibes Travel & Tours and Mr. Tongesai Mutematsaka. I recommend Cultural Vibes Travel & Tours to anyone considering a trip to Zimbabwe."

"Tongesai was awesome from the start. I knew he was a good tour operator because he answered all of my questions in a timely manner and no question was ever stupid. Everything was just as he said once we arrived and really it was better. We prepared for about a year in advance for this trip and the tour operator was instrumental and making this trip a success. I highly recommend this tour operator to anyone who wants to visit Zimbabwe, Zambia, and Botswana. Give Tongesai a call or email, and you will 100% not be disappointed. I have a very deep understanding of border crossing and transportation challenges in many African countries at this point because of the efforts of the tour operator. This makes my wife and I have very comfortable to approach another visit or look at visiting a different African country."
