South Luangwa night drive packages 2027: prices compared is a useful search for travelers planning Zambia now. Published rates show a wide spread. Safari Frank lists seven-night and nine-night departures from $5,957 to $9,429, before separate park costs. [2] Rainbow Tours lists nine-night holidays from £5,740 to £6,260 per person. [8]
South Luangwa National Park is in eastern Zambia. The park is known for walking safaris, game drives, and night drives. Trailfinders says several camps offer both night drives and walking safaris. [3] These activities make the park a strong choice for travelers who want more than daytime viewing.
Quick answer: A South Luangwa night drive package costs from $5,957 for seven nights in the clearest published 2027 example. Longer itineraries cost $7,807-$9,429 before park costs. Published trips include mobile walking camps, Nkwali, and Nsefu. Check what your rate covers, then compare verified operators and reviews through SafariFind.
This guide compares the available prices, trip lengths, camp plans, and added fees. It also explains how to choose a package without assuming that every advertised rate includes park entry. Prices are planning figures for 2027 and can change as availability moves.
South Luangwa night drive packages in 2027 combine evening wildlife drives with lodge or mobile camp stays. The published examples also include walking safari time, meals, transfers, or other services, depending on the operator. The main price difference comes from trip length, accommodation style, and the number of activities included.
South Luangwa is known for night drives that use spotlights to find nocturnal wildlife. TourRadar describes guided walks that track leopards and lions, while dawn and dusk drives show the park’s wider wildlife. [6] Art of Safari also lists a Zambia itinerary with day and night drives, including a night drive using spotlights. [5]
Night drives change the pace of a safari. You leave after the day heat fades. The guide then searches for movement, eyeshine, and sounds along the road. However, a night drive is not a promise of a specific sighting. Your operator should explain the vehicle type, drive length, guide plan, and park rules.
Safari Frank’s June 17, 2027 itinerary lasts seven nights. The plan includes one night at Nkwali, five nights on a mobile walking safari, and one night at Nsefu. The listed rate is $5,957, with $630 in additional park costs. [2]
Safari Frank’s other listed departures show how quickly price changes with duration and date. The June 22 itinerary lasts nine nights and costs $7,807, plus $820 in park costs. The June 29 itinerary lasts seven nights and costs $7,296, plus $630 in park costs. [2]
The July 3 itinerary lasts nine nights and costs $9,429, plus $785 in park costs. The available listing states that this trip includes two nights at Nkwali. [2] These examples show why you should compare the total trip cost, not only the headline rate.
South Luangwa night drive packages are best for travelers who enjoy active days and smaller camp settings. A mobile walking safari adds time on foot. A lodge-based trip gives you a more fixed base. Travelers who want a broader Zambia journey can also consider a package that adds Victoria Falls or the Lower Zambezi.
Families and first-time safari guests should ask about minimum ages, walking distances, and vehicle arrangements. Those details are not stated in every public listing. Ask for them in writing before you pay a deposit.

Package scope matters too. Art of Safari lists a 12-day Zambia itinerary from $8,424. The package includes accommodation, all meals, and day and night drives. [5] Rainbow Tours lists South Luangwa holidays from £6,260 for nine nights, plus a Remote Africa Walking Safaris option from £5,740 for nine nights. [8]
Compare 2027 safari prices against real Zambia safari budgets before you choose a package.
The best South Luangwa night drive package matches your budget, activity level, and preferred camp style. Start with the number of nights. Then check the night-drive plan, walking schedule, park costs, and accommodation. Finally, read recent traveler reviews and ask the operator for a full written itinerary.
A seven-night itinerary gives you a shorter entry point. Safari Frank lists a June 17 departure at $5,957, before $630 in park costs. [2] A nine-night trip provides more nights in the area. However, the listed nine-night rates range from $7,807 to $9,429 before park costs. [2]
Trailfinders lists a 10-day, nine-night South Luangwa holiday with a guide price of €5,729 or £4,929 per person. [3] This figure gives you another benchmark, but you should confirm its current inclusions and night-drive schedule.
Choose a walking-led plan if time on foot is your top goal. The Safari Frank June 17 itinerary includes five mobile walking nights. [2] Choose a lodge-led plan if you want a stable room and easier rest between drives. Ask whether the night drive leaves directly from the camp.
Photographers should ask about spotlight use, vehicle seating, and group size. Families should ask about child policies and late return times. Couples may prefer a smaller camp, while active travelers may value more walking nights.
Getting there: Confirm the arrival airport, road transfer, and internal flight plan with your operator. Public package summaries do not give one standard route for every 2027 itinerary. Therefore, your quote should state each transfer, its cost, and the time needed.
Travelers adding a wider Zambia trip can compare South Luangwa with Lower Zambezi safari packages for 2027. Travelers who want a city start may also review Lusaka travel connections. Keep the route simple when your priority is night wildlife viewing.
SafariFind connects travelers with verified tour operators and authentic reviews. Use the marketplace to compare package prices, read feedback, and request a quote. Ask each operator to confirm the park-cost line, night-drive frequency, and camp list.
Do not judge a package by price alone. A higher rate may include more nights, meals, drives, or better camp placement. A lower rate may exclude park fees or transfers. A clear comparison helps you see the real value.
A successful South Luangwa night drive starts with clear expectations and simple preparation. Pack warm layers, follow the guide’s safety rules, and keep your light use under control. Confirm the return time because night drives can finish well after sunset.
Guides control the spotlight and the vehicle approach. Follow their instructions when wildlife appears near the road. Keep voices low. Do not shine personal lights at animals unless the guide gives permission.
Night drives focus on wildlife that moves after dark. They do not replace daytime drives or walking safaris. A balanced itinerary gives you different viewing periods and a wider sense of the park.
For daytime walking options, compare the South Luangwa walking safari packages for 2027. This helps you decide whether a night-drive plan should include more time on foot.
Travelers can compare accommodation ideas in Where to Stay on a Zambia Safari. You can also review Zambia safari seasons before choosing between June and July. Both links support better planning, but your operator should confirm 2027 availability.

A South Luangwa night drive package can include accommodation, meals, guiding, walking safaris, and night drives. Art of Safari lists accommodation, all meals, day drives, and night drives in one 12-day Zambia itinerary. [5] Always confirm inclusions with the operator.
June and July are the clearest planning months in the published 2027 examples. Safari Frank lists departures on June 17, June 22, June 29, and July 3, 2027. [2] Your operator should confirm seasonal access, camp opening dates, and available night drives.
Seven nights is the shortest listed Safari Frank option, while nine nights gives you a longer stay. The seven-night June 17 itinerary includes five mobile walking nights, plus Nkwali and Nsefu. [2] Choose nine nights if you want more time for varied activities.
Park fees are not included in every advertised headline price. Safari Frank lists separate park costs of $630, $820, and $785 on its published 2027 departures. [2] Ask for a final quote that shows park fees as a separate line.
You can book by comparing verified operators, checking package details, and requesting a written quote through SafariFind. Read authentic reviews before you choose. Confirm the departure date, camp list, night drives, park costs, and payment terms for 2027.

"On 10.9. until 1.10. In 2023, I went on a trip to Botswana, Zimbabwe and a short visit to Zambia with my clients - friends. I carefully prepared the trip in cooperation with the manager of Cultural Vibes Travel & Tours, Mr. Tongesai Mutematsaka. After arriving in Gaborone we organized a short tour of the city ourselves and met Tongesai in Maun. Tongesai was our driver and guide practically the whole way. We visited the Okavango River Delta and its surroundings (Moremi Reserve, Mokoro boat cruise, flight over the Okavango Delta. This was followed by a visit to the Makgadikgadi Salt Flats, then the Elephant Sands area and in Botswana Chobe National Park with a cruise on the Chobe River. Then we crossed to Zimbabwe, which was the main part of our journey. In the Victoria Falls area, we visited the Monde settlement, took a helicopter flight over Victoria Falls, followed by a cruise on the Zambezi River as part of a visit to the national park of the same name. We also walked past Victoria Falls on the Zimbabwean side and had a Boma dinner in the evening (too much of a "tourist thing"). On the Zambian side of the falls we saw white rhinos in Mosi - oa - Tunya National Park, then visited the museum in Livingstone and walked the Zambian side of the falls. From Victoria Falls, we headed to Hwange National Park, where we had a beautiful program - a safari, and after Hwange, there was also a very interesting program in Matobo National Park (there, among other things, white rhinos (a mother with her little daughter), beautiful rock formations and prehistoric cave drawings. The next place visited was Khami with very interesting buildings, and then we visited the ruins of Great Zimbabwe, which are among the most important world monuments. This was followed by a visit to the Chinhoya Karst and finally the gallery in Harare. I would also like to comment on the provision of services: Accommodation in the hotels was at the standard, expected level, only the service at the Great Zimbabwe Hotel was rather lazy. Accommodation in lodges - very good and the best accommodation was in Iganyana tented camp in Hwange National Park, mainly due to the extraordinary professionalism and very friendly attitude of the staff there towards us, the visitors. I must also highly praise all the local guides we met everywhere, e.g. in Chobe, Hwange and Matobo National Parks. I want to emphasize that this journey is one of the most interesting that I have made around the world. I believe that my clients - friends were also satisfied with the set. Thanks to the travel agency Cultural Vibes Travel & Tours and Mr. Tongesai Mutematsaka. I recommend Cultural Vibes Travel & Tours to anyone considering a trip to Zimbabwe."

"Tongesai was awesome from the start. I knew he was a good tour operator because he answered all of my questions in a timely manner and no question was ever stupid. Everything was just as he said once we arrived and really it was better. We prepared for about a year in advance for this trip and the tour operator was instrumental and making this trip a success. I highly recommend this tour operator to anyone who wants to visit Zimbabwe, Zambia, and Botswana. Give Tongesai a call or email, and you will 100% not be disappointed. I have a very deep understanding of border crossing and transportation challenges in many African countries at this point because of the efforts of the tour operator. This makes my wife and I have very comfortable to approach another visit or look at visiting a different African country."
