MalaMala Camp rates can reach ZAR 32,850 per person per night in 2027, before you add flights and other trip costs. That price buys a high-end stay in South Africa's Sabi Sand area, with game drives and camp services built into selected rates. [5]
MalaMala Night Drive Packages 2027: Prices and Booking starts with camp rates of USD 1,835 to USD 2,035 per person sharing per night, depending on the camp and season. The best value dates are 6 January to 14 May and 16 October to 20 December 2027. Compare verified safari operators on SafariFind before you pay a deposit.
MalaMala Night Drive Packages 2027: Prices and Booking is a guide to planning a luxury safari stay at MalaMala Private Game Reserve in South Africa. The key point is simple. Published rates cover accommodation and safari services, but the available rate pages do not give a separate price for a night drive.
MalaMala Camp is one of the better-known private reserve choices near the Kruger area. It appeals to travelers who want longer game drives, fewer vehicle limits, and a lodge stay rather than a basic park tour. However, you should ask the operator to confirm whether your chosen booking includes a night drive, a private vehicle, or only the standard listed activities.
The rates are high, but they are clear enough to build a 2027 budget. MalaMala Camp lists ZAR 30,550 per person per night for selected 2027 dates. The rate rises to ZAR 32,850 for 15 May to 15 October and 21 December to 5 January. [5]
Quick answer: A MalaMala night drive package in 2027 is usually built around a luxury camp booking, not a stand-alone drive ticket. MalaMala Camp lists rates of USD 1,835 per person per night for one 2027 season, while Sable Camp starts at USD 2,035 in peak periods. Confirm night-drive access before booking. [3] [4]
A MalaMala night drive package is a lodge stay with safari activities attached, rather than a simple evening excursion. One listed MalaMala Camp rate includes meals, snacks, drinks, game drives, nature walks, and transfers to and from MalaMala Airstrip. [3] The listed details do not give a separate night-drive supplement.
MalaMala Camp rates are built around a full safari stay. The USD 1,835 rate includes daily camp services and activities, which helps you compare it with room-only lodge prices. [3] The exact activity schedule still matters. Ask whether your dates include an after-dark drive, and check the vehicle rules before you confirm payment.
Night drives are useful because some animals become active after sunset. You may want to look for nocturnal species, predators, and animals that stay hidden during hotter daylight hours. Still, sightings are never guaranteed. A good guide can improve your chances, but no operator can promise a particular animal.
The published rate tells you the price per person sharing per night. It does not create a complete door-to-door holiday budget. International flights, travel insurance, visas, private transfers, drinks outside the listed board basis, and extra nights may need separate planning.
The USD 1,835 rate also includes transfers to and from MalaMala Airstrip. [3] That can simplify arrival, especially if you fly into the reserve. Ask for the exact transfer plan when you request a quote. Arrival times can affect whether you reach camp in time for an afternoon or evening activity.
MalaMala Private Game Reserve works best for travelers who value time in the reserve. A short stay can feel rushed when you have long-distance flights and transfers. A three-night booking may qualify for a fourth night free during selected 2027 periods, including 6 January to 15 May and 16 October to 20 December. [6]
That offer can change the maths of a luxury safari. You pay for three nights and receive four nights of accommodation under the listed deal. Confirm the offer's exact terms, room type, travel dates, and activity schedule before you rely on it.
Compare a 7-day Kruger safari itinerary for 2027 if MalaMala's short luxury stay does not fit your travel plan.
MalaMala night drive packages cost about USD 1,835 to USD 2,035 per person sharing per night in the listed 2027 rates. MalaMala Camp also lists ZAR 30,550 to ZAR 32,850 per person per night for luxury suites. Your final quote depends on the camp, season, room type, transfers, and confirmed activities.
| Camp or lodge | 2027 listed price | Rate basis | Season or dates |
|---|---|---|---|
| MalaMala Camp | USD 1,835 | Per person per night | 15 May to 15 October 2027 [3] |
| MalaMala Sable Camp | From USD 2,035 | Per person sharing per night | 15 May to 15 October and 21 December to 5 January 2027 [4] |
| MalaMala Camp | ZAR 30,550 | Per person per night | 6 January to 14 May and 16 October to 20 December 2027 [5] |
| MalaMala Camp | ZAR 32,850 | Per person per night | 15 May to 15 October and 21 December to 5 January 2027 [5] |
| Rattray's Lodge | USD 2,820 to USD 3,030 | Per person per night | High and peak season 2027 [1] |
MalaMala Camp lists a 2027 high-season suite at USD 3,720 per night for a couple. A peak-night stay at Rattray's Lodge is listed at USD 6,060 for a couple. [1] These figures show how quickly the total rises when you choose a suite, peak dates, or a different lodge.
MalaMala Camp luxury rooms are listed from GBP 1,282 per person sharing per night. Luxury suites start at GBP 1,343 per person sharing per night for selected 2027 dates. [2] Currency movements can change the amount charged to your card, so treat the local-currency quote as the figure to review carefully.
Two people sharing at USD 1,835 per person per night would pay USD 3,670 per night before any separate costs. A three-night stay would reach USD 11,010 at that rate. The calculation does not include extra flights or services outside the listed package.
Two people sharing at the Sable Camp rate of USD 2,035 would pay USD 4,070 per night. Three nights would total USD 12,210 before other trip costs. These examples make one point clear. Ask for a full quote, not only a nightly headline price.
Compare 2027 luxury safari packages and prices before choosing between MalaMala Camp, Sable Camp, and other private reserves.
Book a MalaMala night drive by choosing travel dates, checking the camp rate, and asking for written confirmation of the evening activity. Start with the room type and board basis. Then confirm transfers, conservation charges, deposit rules, cancellation terms, and whether the night drive is included or charged separately.
The lower listed MalaMala Camp rate applies to 6 January to 14 May and 16 October to 20 December 2027. That rate is ZAR 30,550 per person per night for luxury suites. [5] These periods also overlap with the listed fourth-night-free offer, subject to its terms. [6]
The higher listed rate covers 15 May to 15 October and 21 December to 5 January. MalaMala Camp lists ZAR 32,850 per person per night for that period. [5] Sable Camp lists USD 2,035 per person sharing per night for its peak dates. [4]
MalaMala Camp offers a lower entry point than the listed Sable Camp rate. Sable Camp may suit travelers who want a different camp setting within the same broader safari area. Compare the room size, view, meal plan, transfer plan, and activity schedule rather than looking at price alone.
Luxury rooms and luxury suites also carry different listed prices. The GBP rates show that the suite costs more than the room during the selected 2027 dates. [2] If a night drive matters most, use the booking enquiry to ask for the activity in writing before you choose the more expensive room.
SafariFind connects travelers with verified tour operators and authentic traveler reviews. Use the marketplace to compare operators, read feedback, and request a quote that names the camp, dates, room, number of nights, and night-drive arrangements.
Travel insurance deserves attention on an expensive safari. One listed source mentions complimentary travel insurance with cancellation cover up to USD 5,000 per person when bookings are paid by 25 November 2026. [3] That date is close to the current November 2026 planning window, so check the offer's live terms before relying on it.
Arrival timing also matters. A transfer to MalaMala Airstrip may be included in the listed rate, but the flight itself can affect your first afternoon. Give the operator your flight plan and ask which activity you can realistically join.
A MalaMala night drive gives you a chance to view wildlife after sunset, but it does not guarantee sightings. The listed package information confirms game drives and nature walks, yet it does not give a separate night-drive schedule. Ask the operator to confirm the activity before you treat it as part of the package.
Night drives suit travelers who have already enjoyed daytime game viewing and want a different pace. Families should check age rules and vehicle arrangements. Photographers should ask about lighting rules, camera space, and whether a private vehicle is available.
Couples often choose MalaMala for a short, high-cost stay. A two-night booking offers less time to recover from travel. Three nights gives you more chances to join activities, and the fourth-night offer may improve value during selected dates. [6]
Evenings can feel cool in an open safari vehicle. Pack a warm layer, closed shoes, a small bag, and a camera with a secure strap. A red or low-impact light can help, but follow the guide's rules. Bright phone screens can disturb other guests and make wildlife harder to watch.
Keep expectations realistic. A night drive is about patient observation. You may see movement in the dark, hear sounds before you see an animal, or spend long periods waiting. That quiet time is part of the experience, although it can feel slow if you expect constant action.
A private vehicle gives you more control over timing and stops. It may also help if one traveler wants photography while another prefers to return to camp. The public rates provided here do not give a separate private-vehicle price, so ask for that cost in your quote.
MalaMala's listed rate includes game drives at one published price. [3] That does not mean every special activity or private arrangement is included. Put each request into the written itinerary, especially a night drive, private vehicle, child policy, and transfer plan.
Plan a 2027 South Africa safari and Cape Town itinerary if you want to add city time before or after MalaMala.
MalaMala night drive packages cost about USD 1,835 per person per night at one listed MalaMala Camp rate. MalaMala Sable Camp starts at USD 2,035 per person sharing per night during listed peak dates. The separate price of a night drive is not shown in these published rates. [3] [4]
A published MalaMala Camp rate includes meals, snacks, drinks, game drives, nature walks, and transfers to MalaMala Airstrip. It does not clearly name a night drive as a separate included activity. Ask the operator to confirm the evening drive in writing before booking. [3]
The best value dates in the listed MalaMala Camp rates are 6 January to 14 May and 16 October to 20 December 2027. The luxury-suite rate is ZAR 30,550 per person per night during those periods. A fourth-night-free offer may also apply to selected dates. [5] [6]
The cheapest listed MalaMala Camp rate in this guide is ZAR 30,550 per person per night for a luxury suite. The dates are 6 January to 14 May and 16 October to 20 December 2027. A separate source lists USD 1,835 per person per night for another 2027 season. [3] [5]
Book at least three nights if you want time for several safari activities and a better chance of joining an evening drive. A listed offer may give you a fourth night free when you book three nights during selected 2027 periods. Confirm the offer and activity plan before payment. [6]
Use SafariFind to compare verified safari packages, review operator profiles, and request a written quote. Ask each operator to confirm the camp, room type, dates, transfers, night-drive arrangements, and cancellation terms before you pay.

MalaMala Camp also lists ZAR 30,550 for selected lower-rate dates and ZAR 32,850 for higher-rate periods. [3] [5] Sable Camp starts at USD 2,035 during its listed peak dates. [4]
Choose January to May or mid-October to December if you want the lower listed MalaMala Camp rate. Check the three-nights-plus-one-free offer for eligible dates. "We made our reservations with 50% down-payment way back in Feb-26, 4 months before our trip in June and balance 50% one month before departure from Singapore. We were not sure and worried a bit whether things would turn out as described and promised, as this is our first ever trip to South Africa. All our worries disappeared from the moment we were picked up upon arrival according to the itinerary, and subsequent daily trips were excellent in view of timing, routes, transports, accommodations, meals, and to the local guides and drivers assigned. Everything is above and beyond our expectations, and we sincerely thank Safari Tailors for providing us such a memorable trip of our life!"
"Communications with Mack via email were swift and comprehensible. We were picked up at the airport on arrival by our guide, Thomas, who would be with us for the whole week. We signed up for a budget camping safari, and we had a great time! The campsites were nicer than I thought they would be, and the Kiliholidays team did a great job of taking care of us the whole trip. Thomas was very accommodating, and our 'stomach engineer' did a fantastic job the whole trip. My partner and I were very impressed by the quality of the food. Thomas was an incredible driver; a few times we had to stop and help other drivers who were stuck! This was my second visit to East Africa, and I will definitely book with Kiliholidays for my third trip :) A few tips for other travelers: The sleeping mattress was a bit thin for me (my partner had no trouble!), but I found that sleeping on my back instead of my side helped. If you have sensitive hips, I'd recommend bringing something to use as a cushion, or possibly arranging for an extra mattress. The tent was high-quality and the sleeping bags were warm. We stayed in Mto wa Mbu a few nights and it was quite hot there. We brought sleeping sacks (very thin) and used those instead. Bring LOTS of insect repellent and use it often (biting flies in the daytime, mosquitoes at night). Same with hand sanitizer (public campsite toilets don't usually have soap). Granola bars are a good idea, too, if you like to snack between meals. There's not a lot of access to ice, so if you like an evening adult-beverage, just ask your guide to stop before you leave Arusha to pick up some wine. We picked up a 5-liter box of South African wine for about 25euros and it was very convenient (bring your own cups!)."
"This is the second time I have traveled with my family with GoExplore. The first time was an amazing Uganda experience (already reviewed) and this second experience with my husband to Kenya was equally amazing. Brian organized organized both tours for me and tailored them according to my wishes. As this is still the time of unsure flights and Covid difficulties, he was easily able to adapt to some changes with travel that were beyond our control. GoExplore is a boutique business that is very personalized and offers you the equal and more than a large corporate operator. The price point is compatible with group tours but you will have your own personal driver and guide for yourself and there is nothing to compare with this luxury. Because of that, you will also be able to adapt your days schedule if you wish according what you want and not what is a groups plan. We were completely happy and satisfied with all aspects of our travel (on both trips). Brian knows the safari tour industry and is constantly working to improve the business, his knowledge about lodges, the parks, restaurants and all minute aspects of the tour. He will be able to personally attest to the quality of whatever product he is recommending to you. Sammi was our driver in Kenya and we can only say that he was amazing. He knew more about wildlife (and every birds name and details) than an encyclopedia, was an amazingly adept driver in sometimes rough conditions (traffic, rough park roads, etc.) and looked out for our interests. While respecting the animals, he went above and beyond trying to make sure we saw every different animal we could. We appreciated that he obviously respected and cared about the animals we were seeing. (Not all safari drivers do and will do anything to try to get to see something up close, even while encroaching too much on their space.) We had a minor vehicle difficulty and Sammi made sure that everything went smoothly and we didn't miss a minute of our trip or schedule. He is quite an asset to GoExplore. Sammi only drives on Kenya trips but if you go to Uganda, I highly recommend Moses who was equally great. Overall, the trip was an unforgettable trip of a lifetime. If you haven't gone on a safari before, you should trip to put this on your life plan. There is nothing like it and when you plan it, you want a safari operator that will listen to your needs, wants, and budget and tailor it to fit you. GoExplore will do that in a personal way. Our lodges that Brian picked were magical and the food was outstanding. There was nothing about our trip that we would have changed. I highly recommend GoExplore if you want to travel to any of the countries they operate in. If not those countries, then reconsider them over the more commercialized ones (such as South Africa) and you won't be disappointed."
"We just finished a 2-week tour of South Africa with extension to Victoria Falls and the Monde Village Cultural Experience was one of the highlights of the entire trip. It is a must-do for anyone in the area. Tongesai (our guide) was very personable and worked with us to customize the experience. He was flexible and took time to explain many things that aren't part of the "regular tour". We had great conversations throughout the tour. He ended up dropping us off so late (8:30pm), his wife had to call him twice. He took a few pictures with us so he had alibi. :) Mr Ncube (our village host) and his family were welcoming and excited to show us their way of life. Mr Ncube's explanations of his culture, family structure, farming struggles, and discussions on many topics showed us a simple way of life, much different than our modern American ways, but it made so much sense. People here fight hard to live but they do it with a smile. They may be poor, but not in spirit. We asked many questions and received questions ourselves. It was as if I was visiting an uncle living in a rural part of a third-world country. This family made us felt at home. We wish we had more time to sit under the summer kitchen during a raining day, sharing food and chatting with these folks. We wish we could sit in the winter kitchen to hear him teach his children and grandchildren. Needless to say, we spent 4+ hrs at this experience and wanted more. I am now back to "civilization" in a nice Qatari hotel, but I kept thinking about my time in the simple Monde Village. What a breath of fresh air that was. I brought some extra clothes to give, but ended up giving as much as I could live without for the rest of my trip. A pair of sandals doesn't mean much to me, but it means a lot to people in these villages. This is 30+ hrs flight from home so it is a one-time chance to help; I had to make the best of it. If I can come back to this area, I will definitely bring more people to share in this amazing experience. I encourage all who come to Victoria Falls to add this cultural experience to their itinerary."
"Cultural Vibes Travel and Tours has proved to be excellent yet again as this is now the third time, we have used them and a much-needed break after almost 3 years with the Covid pandemic. Tongesai is extremely reliable, professional, knowledgeable and does everything to make your trip a memorable experience. Compared to local larger companies, Tongesai’s individual package rates are more reasonable and come with a customized touch. We felt that our holiday with Tongesai was much better and suited us more so than if we had booked through a larger company. His individual tailoring, personal involvement and attention to detail pays off in the smooth running of your trip. Our visits to the Victoria Falls, both sides from Zimbabwe and Zambia were magnificent and never cease to amaze us. On this trip Tongesai arranged for a private sunset cruise on the Zambezi just for our family of four instead of on the larger vessels, which was a very pleasant alternative. The boat trip in Chobe is magical and a must if you venture into Botswana. Wildlife was in abundance, including lion, elephant, wildebeest, buffalo, puku, kudu, bushbuck, waterbuck, impala, gemsbok, steenbok, sable and roan antelope, etc. We even saw a relative of Cecil, the famous black-maned lion, ‘once a true king of Hwange National Park’. I have no hesitation in recommending the company for arranging tours in Zimbabwe, Zambia and Botswana - we will definitely be seeing him again. He is currently setting up arrangements with colleagues in Kruger National Park to venture into South Africa and I wish him every success with that."
