A 5-Day Lower Zambezi Safari Itinerary 2027: Total Cost ranges from $5,236 to more than $6,575 per person for listed five-day options. A lower-cost four-day trip is listed at US$806, while a seven-day luxury Zambia package costs $11,524. January to March offers published five-day rates, while May and July to September show other price points.
Lower Zambezi safari prices can differ by more than $6,000 per person in 2027. That gap comes from trip length, camp style, season, and what the package covers.
A 5-Day Lower Zambezi Safari Itinerary 2027: Total Cost is a planning guide for visitors comparing real published rates. The figures below include five-day listings, plus shorter and longer trips that help explain the price spread. They do not create one fixed market price.
The Zambia safari market includes simple wildlife trips and high-end river camps. Lower Zambezi National Park sits beside the Zambezi River, so many itineraries combine drives with boat activities. Adventure Life lists boating, game drives, and walking safaris on its five-day itinerary. [4]
Quick answer: A five-day Lower Zambezi safari in 2027 costs $5,236 or more in the published listings reviewed here. African Travel lists $6,100 for January, $6,155 for February to March, and $6,575 for late March to early April and late December. [5] Adventure Life lists five days from $5,236. [4]
Prices need close checking before you pay a deposit. A lower advertised rate may cover fewer nights, simpler lodging, or fewer activities. A higher rate may include a luxury camp and more transfers. Ask each operator for a written list of inclusions, park fees, transfers, meals, and activities.
A five-day Lower Zambezi safari in 2027 is a short wildlife trip based around Lower Zambezi National Park and the Zambezi River. Published prices run from $5,236 to $6,575 per person for the main five-day examples. The final total depends on the selected camp, travel dates, and package inclusions.
Lower Zambezi National Park is known for river-based wildlife viewing and classic African game drives. Adventure Life lists a five-day trip with a stay at Sausage Tree Camp. The same listing describes boating on the Zambezi River, walking safaris, and game drives. [4]
Known for: Lower Zambezi combines land and water activities within one safari plan. That mix changes the daily rhythm. You may spend one outing in a vehicle, then take a boat on another. Walking activities add a slower way to read tracks and watch smaller details.
Best for: This itinerary suits travelers who want a focused Zambia safari without a long country-wide route. It also suits visitors who prefer a high-end camp and guided activities over a self-drive plan.
Trip length matters. TourRadar lists a four-day Lower Zambezi wildlife-focused trip at US$806 per person for 13 to 16 May 2027. The listing also shows a $30 park entry fee. [3] That option is shorter than the main five-day plans, so it is a useful budget comparison rather than a direct match.
Luxury length matters too. Saringi Tours lists a seven-day package at $11,524 per person sharing for July to September 2027. The route includes Lower Zambezi National Park and Livingstone. [2] The price is higher because the itinerary lasts longer and uses a fully inclusive luxury format.
SafariFind connects travelers with verified tour operators and real package listings. Compare Zambia safari packages by duration, price, and destination before choosing a five-day route.
The biggest mistake is comparing prices without comparing the trip behind each price. A four-day wildlife trip at $806 is not the same product as a five-day luxury camp stay at $5,236. The number of nights, room type, meals, park fees, and transfers can change the total quickly.
A clear comparison helps you set a fair budget. It also gives you better questions to ask. If two packages look similar, check whether both include river activities, park entry, airport transfers, and guide services.
A safari in Zambia costs $806 per person for a listed four-day Lower Zambezi trip, while published five-day examples cost $5,236, $6,100, $6,155, or $6,575 per person. A seven-day luxury package costs $11,524 per person sharing. These figures show separate package prices, not one fixed national rate.
| Package or season | Length | Price per person | Travel dates |
|---|---|---|---|
| TourRadar Lower Zambezi wildlife safari | 4 days | US$806 | 13 to 16 May 2027 |
| Adventure Life Lower Zambezi safari | 5 days | From $5,236 | 2027 listing |
| African Travel Zambia safari | 5 days | $6,100 | January 2027 |
| African Travel Zambia safari | 5 days | $6,155 | February to 25 March, and 1 to 22 December 2027 |
| African Travel Zambia safari | 5 days | $6,575 | 26 March to 6 April, and 23 to 31 December 2027 |
| Saringi Tours luxury Zambia safari | 7 days | $11,524 | July to September 2027 |
Adventure Life provides the lowest published price among the five-day examples at $5,236. [4] African Travel lists a January price of $6,100 per person sharing. Its February to March and early December rate is $6,155. [5]
African Travel lists $6,575 for 26 March to 6 April and 23 to 31 December 2027. [5] Those dates sit above the January rate by $475 per person. The difference shows why your travel dates should come before your final budget.
The published material confirms different activity and trip formats, but you still need a package-by-package inclusion sheet. Adventure Life names a camp stay, boating, game drives, and walking safaris. [4] TourRadar lists park entry fees at $30 for its four-day trip. [3]
Ask for these details in writing:
The listings do not establish one definitive total cost for every five-day trip. They show substantial differences by itinerary length, accommodation level, season, and inclusions. [2][3][4][5]
Need a luxury trip but want to control the total? Request quotes from verified Zambia safari operators with your exact dates and budget so you can compare like-for-like inclusions.
The $5,236 to $6,575 range is the most useful guide for the published five-day examples. It is not a promise that every operator will quote within that band. Camp availability, travel dates, room choice, and route design can move the price above or below it.
The $806 four-day listing gives a separate budget reference. It may appeal to travelers who want a shorter visit. However, it should not be used as the expected total for a five-day luxury safari.
Plan a five-day Lower Zambezi safari by choosing your dates, camp level, activities, and transport needs before comparing quotes. Start with the published $5,236 to $6,575 five-day range, then ask operators to confirm every inclusion and fee in writing.
A practical five-day plan usually gives the park enough time for several guided outings without making the trip too long. The exact schedule belongs to the operator, because camp access, flight timing, and seasonal conditions affect each day.
This structure keeps the trip simple. It also gives you room to compare land and water activities. Adventure Life specifically describes game drives, boating, and walking safaris in its Lower Zambezi offering. [4]
January to March has clear published five-day prices from African Travel. The rate is $6,100 in January, $6,155 from February to 25 March, and $6,575 from 26 March to 6 April. [5] These dates give you a firm starting point for a 2027 budget.
May has a listed four-day budget option at US$806 per person. [3] July to September has a listed seven-day luxury option at $11,524 per person sharing. [2] These examples show different travel products, so compare the number of days before judging value.
Begin by deciding whether you want a five-day trip or a shorter four-day visit. Then set a per-person budget. A traveler choosing the main five-day listings should plan around $5,236 to $6,575 before confirming what the operator includes.
Next, choose your camp standard. Sausage Tree Camp appears in Adventure Life's five-day listing. [4] Saringi Tours describes its seven-day package as fully inclusive and places it at $11,524 per person sharing. [2] These descriptions show why lodging style matters.
Then ask for a quote with your dates. Include the number of travelers, room setup, preferred activities, and any Livingstone extension. A route that adds Livingstone needs a different plan from a park-only stay.
SafariFind lets you compare operators and read traveler feedback before making a choice. Use the details in each listing to build a short list, then ask the strongest matches for a written quote.
Nearby planning can also change your route. Travelers adding Kariba Dam or Mana Pools National Park should confirm border, transfer, and timing needs with the operator. Do not assume a Lower Zambezi park stay automatically includes either destination.
Lower Zambezi is one part of a wider Zambia trip. If you want a different park, compare the 7-day Kafue safari itinerary and costs. If you want a shorter add-on near the south, the guide to Livingstone day trips and safari prices gives another planning route.
For lodge-focused research, read the comparison of luxury safari lodges in Zambia. It helps you think about camp level before you request Lower Zambezi quotes.
A safari in Zambia costs $806 per person for a listed four-day Lower Zambezi trip, while published five-day examples cost $5,236 to $6,575 per person. A seven-day luxury package costs $11,524 per person sharing. The final quote depends on length, lodging, dates, and inclusions.
A five-day Lower Zambezi safari costs from $5,236 in the published Adventure Life listing. African Travel lists $6,100 in January, $6,155 during February to 25 March and early December, and $6,575 during selected late March, April, and late December dates.
Published listings identify different inclusions. Adventure Life describes a camp stay, boating, game drives, and walking safaris. TourRadar lists a $30 Lower Zambezi park entry fee for its four-day trip. Ask the operator to confirm meals, transfers, activities, fees, and room type.
May has a listed four-day Lower Zambezi wildlife safari at US$806 per person for 13 to 16 May 2027. This is a shorter budget option, not a five-day luxury benchmark. Confirm the full itinerary and every included fee before comparing it with five-day packages.
Start by comparing verified operators on SafariFind, then request a written quote for your dates and group size. Read authentic reviews, check inclusions, and confirm the total before paying. Read SafariFind traveler reviews before booking your Zambia safari.
A five-day Lower Zambezi safari in 2027 costs $5,236 to $6,575 in the published five-day examples. Adventure Life starts at $5,236, while African Travel lists $6,100 in January, $6,155 across selected February to March and December dates, and $6,575 during selected late March, April, and late December dates. [4][5]
Choose the $806 four-day May listing only if a shorter wildlife trip fits your plan. Choose a luxury route carefully if you want a longer stay, because Saringi Tours lists $11,524 for seven days in July to September. [2][3]
Before you book, compare nights, camp level, park fees, river activities, walking safaris, meals, and transfers. Compare verified safari packages on SafariFind, read authentic reviews, and request a quote that matches your 2027 dates. In 2027, a careful comparison is the simplest way to avoid paying luxury prices for a shorter or less inclusive itinerary.

"On 10.9. until 1.10. In 2023, I went on a trip to Botswana, Zimbabwe and a short visit to Zambia with my clients - friends. I carefully prepared the trip in cooperation with the manager of Cultural Vibes Travel & Tours, Mr. Tongesai Mutematsaka. After arriving in Gaborone we organized a short tour of the city ourselves and met Tongesai in Maun. Tongesai was our driver and guide practically the whole way. We visited the Okavango River Delta and its surroundings (Moremi Reserve, Mokoro boat cruise, flight over the Okavango Delta. This was followed by a visit to the Makgadikgadi Salt Flats, then the Elephant Sands area and in Botswana Chobe National Park with a cruise on the Chobe River. Then we crossed to Zimbabwe, which was the main part of our journey. In the Victoria Falls area, we visited the Monde settlement, took a helicopter flight over Victoria Falls, followed by a cruise on the Zambezi River as part of a visit to the national park of the same name. We also walked past Victoria Falls on the Zimbabwean side and had a Boma dinner in the evening (too much of a "tourist thing"). On the Zambian side of the falls we saw white rhinos in Mosi - oa - Tunya National Park, then visited the museum in Livingstone and walked the Zambian side of the falls. From Victoria Falls, we headed to Hwange National Park, where we had a beautiful program - a safari, and after Hwange, there was also a very interesting program in Matobo National Park (there, among other things, white rhinos (a mother with her little daughter), beautiful rock formations and prehistoric cave drawings. The next place visited was Khami with very interesting buildings, and then we visited the ruins of Great Zimbabwe, which are among the most important world monuments. This was followed by a visit to the Chinhoya Karst and finally the gallery in Harare. I would also like to comment on the provision of services: Accommodation in the hotels was at the standard, expected level, only the service at the Great Zimbabwe Hotel was rather lazy. Accommodation in lodges - very good and the best accommodation was in Iganyana tented camp in Hwange National Park, mainly due to the extraordinary professionalism and very friendly attitude of the staff there towards us, the visitors. I must also highly praise all the local guides we met everywhere, e.g. in Chobe, Hwange and Matobo National Parks. I want to emphasize that this journey is one of the most interesting that I have made around the world. I believe that my clients - friends were also satisfied with the set. Thanks to the travel agency Cultural Vibes Travel & Tours and Mr. Tongesai Mutematsaka. I recommend Cultural Vibes Travel & Tours to anyone considering a trip to Zimbabwe."
"Tongesai and his team provided a wonderful itinerary on our recent trip to Victoria Falls with day trips to Zambia and Botswana. They were a thoughtful and knowledgeable team who took great care to tailor the trip to our family's needs."
"Our guide Tongesai was incredibly respectful, punctual, and friendly. He also helped us with transfers to and from the airport. The experience of visiting Victoria Falls on the Zambia side was amazing. The scenery is wonderful!!!"
"Tongesai was awesome from the start. I knew he was a good tour operator because he answered all of my questions in a timely manner and no question was ever stupid. Everything was just as he said once we arrived and really it was better. We prepared for about a year in advance for this trip and the tour operator was instrumental and making this trip a success. I highly recommend this tour operator to anyone who wants to visit Zimbabwe, Zambia, and Botswana. Give Tongesai a call or email, and you will 100% not be disappointed. I have a very deep understanding of border crossing and transportation challenges in many African countries at this point because of the efforts of the tour operator. This makes my wife and I have very comfortable to approach another visit or look at visiting a different African country."
"Cultural Vibes Travel and Tours and Tongesai Mutematsaka come with my highest recommendation!! Our trip to Zimbabwe, Zambia, and Botswana was everything I could have dreamed of. Tongesai was easy to work with, and always communicated back with me very quickly. I told him what I wanted and he personalized our experience within our budget. He was very flexible when I wanted to make any changes. He took care of every detail so I didn't have to. It was fabulous!! I highly recommend!! You will not be disappointed."
