Luxury Safari Lodges in Zambia 2027: Prices by Park Compared is a guide to the main cost bands, lodge styles, and package choices available for 2027. It focuses on featured lodge rates, Victoria Falls pricing, and full safari itineraries that combine parks with the falls.
Zambia suits travelers who want quiet wildlife areas and guided time away from busy tourist routes. The country also works well for a split trip. You can combine a safari lodge with a river stay or a visit to Victoria Falls.
The quick answer is simple. Expect $395 to $1,270 per person per night for the featured luxury lodge choices. Victoria Falls adds a wider range of about $350 to $2,500 per person per night. Full packages cost more because they may include several camps, transfers, guides, flights, and activities.
Prices in this guide reflect 2027 planning information available in November 2026. Treat each rate as a starting point. Room type, travel dates, shared or private use, and included services can change the final bill.
What are luxury safari lodges in Zambia in 2027?
Luxury safari lodges in Zambia are high-end stays that pair wildlife viewing with private rooms, expert guides, and carefully planned camp services. In 2027, the featured lodge rates run from $395 to $1,270 per person per night. Premium camps can reach $1,000 to $4,000 or more per person per night, depending on the camp and package design.
Overview of the main price bands
The lower featured rate starts with Mukambi Safari Lodge at $395 per person per night. Kasonso Busanga starts at $540, while Royal Zambezi Lodge starts at $1,270. These figures give you a useful first comparison before adding flights, transfers, park fees, or extra nights. [1]

Victoria Falls sits in a separate pricing band because it combines lodge accommodation with river and falls activities. The standard-luxury tier costs about $350 to $500 per person per night and may include guided falls visits, sunset cruises, and standard game drives. [2]
Key features to look for
Luxury lodge pricing often reflects the service around your room, not only the room itself. Before you compare two rates, check whether each package includes:
Daily meals and drinks.
Game drives or guided walks.
River activities and sunset cruises.
Airport or airstrip transfers.
Park fees and local guide services.
Private vehicle use or shared drives.
SafariFind connects travelers with verified tour operators, so you can compare what each package includes. Compare the 2027 Zambia lodge rates and package details before choosing a camp.
The biggest mistake is comparing a room-only rate with a fully inclusive safari rate. A $395 night may look cheaper than a $1,270 night, but the final trip cost depends on meals, transport, park access, guide time, and activities.
How do Zambia luxury lodge prices compare by park and area?
Zambia luxury lodge prices differ by park, access, camp style, and the length of your stay. The clearest 2027 comparison places featured lodge nights at $395 to $1,270 per person, while Victoria Falls ranges from $350 to $2,500. Multi-stop trips cost more because they add transfers and extra services.
Kafue area and Busanga options
Kafue is represented in the featured research by Mukambi Safari Lodge, which starts at $395 per person per night. Kasonso Busanga starts at $540 per person per night. These rates place the two options in the lower and middle parts of the featured luxury range. [1]
The Kafue area is a strong choice for travelers who want a camp-based safari with room to compare costs. You can also review this guide to Kafue National Park lodge rates by budget when deciding between a lower starting rate and a more complete package.
Zambezi and river lodge options
Royal Zambezi Lodge starts at $1,270 per person per night. That rate sits well above Mukambi and Kasonso Busanga, so it suits travelers who place more value on a premium river setting, higher service levels, or a more private lodge experience. [1]
Lower Zambezi planning often works best as part of a longer safari. The Lower Zambezi safari guide for first-time visitors can help you compare river stays with other Zambia options. Look at the total package rather than the room rate alone.
Victoria Falls pricing
Victoria Falls lodges in Zambia cost about $350 to $2,500 per person per night, fully inclusive. The standard-luxury tier sits at $350 to $500 and may include a guided falls visit, a sunset cruise, and standard game drives. Higher tiers can reach $2,500 per night. [2]
The Zambian side of Victoria Falls can suit travelers who want direct river access and fewer crowds. Add it to a safari route through a lodge package, or plan it as the final stop after wildlife viewing.
How full itineraries change the price
Wilderness lists a Zambia package from $8,818 per person. Its “Zambia Magic: Wild & Waterfalls” itinerary covers six nights and two camps. This type of trip costs more than a single lodge stay because it combines several nights, transfers, guiding, and a waterfalls visit. [6]
Wilderness also lists “Zambezi Wonders: Safari & Victoria Falls Luxury” from $9,786 per person. The title tells you the main point of difference: this is a combined safari and falls trip, not one lodge night. [6]
What should you check before booking a luxury Zambia lodge?
Check the inclusions, travel time, room setup, and cancellation terms before booking a luxury Zambia lodge. A nightly rate is only useful when you know what it covers. Ask for a full cost breakdown for 2027, including transfers, meals, activities, and any domestic flights.
Start with your trip style
Choose the experience first, then set the budget. A lodge near Victoria Falls suits travelers who want wildlife time followed by river activities. A Kafue stay suits travelers who want a longer park-based safari. A Lower Zambezi route suits travelers who want a river setting as part of a wider plan.
Known for: Zambia lodge trips are built around guided wildlife viewing, remote camps, river areas, and small-scale hospitality. Best for: couples, families with older children, photographers, and travelers who prefer a quiet camp over a large resort.
Ask yourself one direct question. Do you want the lowest luxury nightly rate, or do you want the smoothest complete trip? Those are often different choices.
Check what the rate includes
Use this checklist when an operator sends a 2027 quote:
Confirm the price per person and the room setup.
Ask whether the rate covers meals, drinks, and activities.
Check if park fees and guide fees appear in the total.
Confirm transfers from the arrival airport or airstrip.
Ask whether the itinerary uses shared or private vehicles.
Check the deposit, payment dates, and cancellation rules.
Wexas lists an 11-day tailor-made Zambia holiday from £10,390 per person, including flights. The route includes South Luangwa and Lower Zambezi before Victoria Falls. [7] This is a useful benchmark for travelers planning a longer, multi-region trip.
Wexas also lists a 10-day “Two Rivers Safari” from £8,145 per person, including flights. [7] The lower price does not make it a basic trip. It shows how route length, lodge selection, and flight arrangements shape the total.
Compare the full trip, not only the lodge
A $395 lodge rate can work well for a short stay. A £10,390 itinerary can make sense when it includes flights and several regions. Compare the number of nights, the number of camps, and the services included before judging value.
Read authentic traveler reviews and compare verified operators before you choose. SafariFind can help you narrow the list by destination, package style, and price. Do not book from a headline rate without checking the written itinerary.
For a trip centered on night drives, review the Kafue night drive package guide. Night activities can change the value of a lodge stay, especially when they are included in the quoted rate.
How do you plan and book a 2027 Zambia lodge safari?
Plan a 2027 Zambia lodge safari by choosing the park area, setting a nightly budget, and comparing complete itineraries. Start with two or three lodge styles. Then request written quotes that show every included service and every extra cost.
Step 1: Set a realistic budget
Use $395 per person per night as a lower featured starting point. Use $540 as a middle comparison point and $1,270 as a premium lodge benchmark. For Victoria Falls, use $350 to $2,500 per person per night as the wider guide. [1] [2]
Then add the wider trip costs. Flights, transfers, insurance, visas, private vehicles, and extra nights can change the final figure. A seven-night lodge stay and a six-night two-camp package are not equal products.
Step 2: Pick a route
Choose a single park if you want fewer transfers and more time in one area. Choose a multi-stop route if you want both wildlife and Victoria Falls. Wilderness lists a six-night, two-camp “Zambia Magic: Wild & Waterfalls” itinerary from $8,818 per person. [6]
Choose a longer route if flights and several parks matter more than the lowest price. Wexas lists an 11-day trip from £10,390 per person, including flights. [7] That format suits travelers who want South Luangwa, Lower Zambezi, and Victoria Falls in one holiday.
Step 3: Compare quotes carefully
Put each quote into a simple table. Record the lodge name, number of nights, room type, activities, transfers, meals, and total price. Then check whether each operator uses the same currency and the same price basis.
Ask for the 2027 rate validity date. Lodge prices and availability can change as camps fill. A written quote also makes it easier to spot missing transfers or activities.
Step 4: Build in the right amount of time
A short stay can work when you want one park and one lodge. A longer stay works better when you add Victoria Falls or move between river and inland areas. The right length depends on your route, not only your budget.
Travelers who want a wider Zambia plan can compare Livingstone activities and 2027 tour prices. The city is the main base for many Victoria Falls plans, so its activities can affect your total spend.
Keep one day flexible when possible. Long transfers can make a rushed itinerary feel tiring, even when every lodge is excellent.
Key takeaways
Start your budget at $395 per person per night for the lowest featured 2027 luxury lodge rate.
Use $540 per person per night as a middle benchmark for Kasonso Busanga.
Allow $1,270 per person per night for the featured Royal Zambezi Lodge starting rate.
Compare Victoria Falls lodges at $350 to $2,500 per person per night, fully inclusive.
Check full itineraries against lodge-only rates, because six-night packages start at $8,818 per person.

What Travelers Say (SafariFind Reviews)
"On 10.9. until 1.10. In 2023, I went on a trip to Botswana, Zimbabwe and a short visit to Zambia with my clients - friends. I carefully prepared the trip in cooperation with the manager of Cultural Vibes Travel & Tours, Mr. Tongesai Mutematsaka. After arriving in Gaborone we organized a short tour of the city ourselves and met Tongesai in Maun. Tongesai was our driver and guide practically the whole way. We visited the Okavango River Delta and its surroundings (Moremi Reserve, Mokoro boat cruise, flight over the Okavango Delta. This was followed by a visit to the Makgadikgadi Salt Flats, then the Elephant Sands area and in Botswana Chobe National Park with a cruise on the Chobe River. Then we crossed to Zimbabwe, which was the main part of our journey. In the Victoria Falls area, we visited the Monde settlement, took a helicopter flight over Victoria Falls, followed by a cruise on the Zambezi River as part of a visit to the national park of the same name. We also walked past Victoria Falls on the Zimbabwean side and had a Boma dinner in the evening (too much of a "tourist thing"). On the Zambian side of the falls we saw white rhinos in Mosi - oa - Tunya National Park, then visited the museum in Livingstone and walked the Zambian side of the falls. From Victoria Falls, we headed to Hwange National Park, where we had a beautiful program - a safari, and after Hwange, there was also a very interesting program in Matobo National Park (there, among other things, white rhinos (a mother with her little daughter), beautiful rock formations and prehistoric cave drawings. The next place visited was Khami with very interesting buildings, and then we visited the ruins of Great Zimbabwe, which are among the most important world monuments. This was followed by a visit to the Chinhoya Karst and finally the gallery in Harare. I would also like to comment on the provision of services: Accommodation in the hotels was at the standard, expected level, only the service at the Great Zimbabwe Hotel was rather lazy. Accommodation in lodges - very good and the best accommodation was in Iganyana tented camp in Hwange National Park, mainly due to the extraordinary professionalism and very friendly attitude of the staff there towards us, the visitors. I must also highly praise all the local guides we met everywhere, e.g. in Chobe, Hwange and Matobo National Parks. I want to emphasize that this journey is one of the most interesting that I have made around the world. I believe that my clients - friends were also satisfied with the set. Thanks to the travel agency Cultural Vibes Travel & Tours and Mr. Tongesai Mutematsaka. I recommend Cultural Vibes Travel & Tours to anyone considering a trip to Zimbabwe."

"Tongesai and his team provided a wonderful itinerary on our recent trip to Victoria Falls with day trips to Zambia and Botswana. They were a thoughtful and knowledgeable team who took great care to tailor the trip to our family's needs."
Kara Fraser•22 June 2026
"Our guide Tongesai was incredibly respectful, punctual, and friendly. He also helped us with transfers to and from the airport. The experience of visiting Victoria Falls on the Zambia side was amazing. The scenery is wonderful!!!"
Javier Fragozo•22 June 2026
"Tongesai was awesome from the start. I knew he was a good tour operator because he answered all of my questions in a timely manner and no question was ever stupid. Everything was just as he said once we arrived and really it was better. We prepared for about a year in advance for this trip and the tour operator was instrumental and making this trip a success. I highly recommend this tour operator to anyone who wants to visit Zimbabwe, Zambia, and Botswana. Give Tongesai a call or email, and you will 100% not be disappointed. I have a very deep understanding of border crossing and transportation challenges in many African countries at this point because of the efforts of the tour operator. This makes my wife and I have very comfortable to approach another visit or look at visiting a different African country."
