A 10-night journey from Gaborone to Maun and the Okavango Delta starts at US$11,800 per person in 2027. [2][5]
Gaborone Safari Packages 2027: Prices and Day Trips range from about US$8,000 to US$30,000 per person for longer Botswana trips. A 10-night Gaborone, Maun, and Okavango Delta route starts at US$11,800. July to September suits peak wildlife viewing, while November to April offers lower prices.
Gaborone Safari Packages 2027: Prices and Day Trips connect Botswana's capital with remote parks, wetlands, deserts, and salt pans. Gaborone is often the starting point rather than the main wildlife area. Many routes continue north to Maun, the Okavango Delta, and Chobe National Park.
Prices depend on trip length, camp level, season, and flights between camps. A longer luxury route can cost up to US$30,000 per person. A shorter local outing costs much less in many cases, although published day-trip examples reach US$4,400 to US$13,500. [2]
Gaborone is a practical entry point for travelers who want city time before a safari. It also works well for routes that continue toward the Kalahari Desert, Makgadikgadi, or northern Botswana.
Quick answer: Gaborone safari packages in 2027 are best for travelers planning a wider Botswana trip. Choose July to September for dry weather and strong wildlife viewing. Choose November to April when value matters most. Most full circuits last 10 to 14 nights, and flights are often extra. [3][4]
Gaborone safari packages are multi-day or short safari trips that begin in Botswana's capital and continue to parks, reserves, wetlands, or desert areas. In 2027, the strongest demand is for routes linking Gaborone with Maun, the Okavango Delta, and Chobe National Park.
Gaborone is in southern Botswana, while many famous safari areas sit farther north. This means a Gaborone itinerary often includes road travel, a domestic flight, or a small charter aircraft. The route can feel broad and varied, but the distance adds time and cost.
Botswana routes may include Chobe National Park, the Okavango Delta, Moremi Game Reserve, the Central Kalahari Game Reserve, and Makgadikgadi. [3] Each area offers a different setting. Chobe is linked with river wildlife, the Okavango with wetland travel, and the Kalahari with open dry country.
The Makgadikgadi Pans National Park adds a very different stop to a northern or central route. Travelers can also consider the Motloutse River, Gcwihaba Caves, or Ghanzi when building a wider Botswana plan.
Gaborone gives travelers more control over the start of a trip. You can add a city stay, meet a guide, or begin a road route before reaching a remote camp. That flexibility matters when you want to see more than one part of Botswana.
However, Gaborone is not always the fastest gateway to northern wildlife areas. Maun is closer to the Okavango Delta, while Kasane is closer to Chobe National Park. The best airport depends on your route, not only on the package name. [3]

Gaborone safari packages cost about US$8,000 to US$30,000 per person for published 2027 trips. The final price depends on camp level, season, trip length, included transfers, and whether the route uses private charter flights. [2]
Indicative Botswana mid-range safari prices sit between €4,500 and €9,000 per person. Luxury trips sit between €9,000 and €18,000 per person. [3] These figures help you compare a Gaborone route with a wider Botswana circuit.
A published 10-night journey that starts in Gaborone and continues to Maun and the Okavango Delta starts at US$11,800 per person. [5] That figure gives you a useful planning point for a longer route with several major stops.
| Trip type | Published price | Typical use |
|---|---|---|
| Mid-range Botswana safari | €4,500 to €9,000 per person | Comfortable camps and a wider circuit |
| Luxury Botswana safari | €9,000 to €18,000 per person | Premium camps and private travel |
| Gaborone 2027 packages | US$8,000 to US$30,000 per person | Longer trips with different camp levels |
| 10-night Gaborone to Okavango journey | From US$11,800 per person | Gaborone, Maun, and the Okavango Delta |

Gaborone day trips suit travelers with limited time, but the word "day trip" covers a wide range of routes. Published examples run from about US$4,400 to US$13,500 per person. [2] Always check the trip length and inclusions before comparing prices.
Short Gaborone outings usually focus on nearby culture, nature, or wildlife experiences. They work well before a longer safari. A city-based start also gives you time to recover from an international flight.
Travelers who want a broader southern Botswana plan can look toward Kanye, Francistown, or Tau Pan. These places suit different routes, so travel time matters.
Some listings use "day trip" language while covering a wider route or several nights. A high price often reflects a private guide, luxury camps, charter flights, park fees, and transfers. Read the schedule closely.
For example, a trip connected with Chobe National Park may work better from Kasane than Gaborone. A trip to the Okavango Delta often works better through Maun. Gaborone can still be part of the full itinerary.
Gaborone day trips are a good fit for travelers with a short stopover. They are less suitable when your main goal is a full Okavango or Chobe experience. In that case, add nights in the north rather than trying to rush the route from the capital.
The SafariFind guide to Makgadikgadi tours in 2027 can help you compare access, cost, and travel time before you book.
Book July to September for peak dry-season wildlife viewing, or choose November to April for lower published prices. May and November offer a useful middle ground for travelers who want clearer value without choosing the busiest dry-season months. [3]
July, August, and September are peak dry-season months. Wildlife often gathers near limited water, and many travelers prefer the cooler, drier conditions. These months also bring higher demand and luxury pricing.
November to April trips are described as 20% to 35% cheaper. [3] Green-season travel can suit flexible travelers who care more about price than peak-season demand. Ask your operator how weather affects roads, flights, and camp access.
Gaborone, Maun, and Kasane are listed as the closest international airport options for the main Botswana safari circuit. [3] Your best arrival airport depends on the first park and the direction of travel.
International flights are generally excluded from safari packages. [4] Remote fly-in routes may use small charter aircraft with fixed schedules and luggage-weight limits. [4] Pack light and confirm the allowance before departure.
Travelers who want walking activities can also read about Khwai walking safaris in 2027. Those trips may suit visitors who want more time outside a vehicle.
Choose a Gaborone safari by matching the airport, season, trip length, and camp level to your priorities. Then compare what each quote includes. A low headline price can change when flights, park fees, meals, or transfers sit outside the package.
SafariFind helps travelers compare packages from verified tour operators. You can read authentic reviews, check route details, and request quotes before making a decision.
Ask about aircraft luggage limits before booking a fly-in safari. Small planes may have fixed schedules, and soft bags often work better than hard cases. Confirm every transfer because a missed connection can affect a remote camp stay.
Check whether the quote includes international flights. These flights are generally excluded from safari packages. [4] Also check airport transfers, park fees, drinks, guide services, and travel insurance.
Read the cancellation terms for 2027 dates. Peak months may have stricter rules because camps and charter flights have limited space. Request the policy in writing.
A southern route can start in Gaborone and continue toward the Kalahari or Makgadikgadi. A northern route can continue to Maun and the Okavango Delta. A river-focused route can use Kasane and Chobe. The right choice depends on what you want to see and how much travel time you accept.

Questions about malaria tablets, driving safety, pregnancy, women travelers, LGBT travel, embassy support, and visas need current advice for your nationality and route. Check a government travel advisory, the nearest Botswana diplomatic mission, and a travel clinician before departure.
Searches such as "do I need malaria tablets for Botswana," "is it safe to drive in Botswana," and "is there a British embassy in Botswana" concern personal travel planning. The answer can change with your health, passport, travel dates, and planned areas, so confirm each point with an official authority.
Visa questions also need a nationality-specific answer. Check whether you need a visa for Botswana, the United Kingdom, or a transit country before paying for flights. A safari operator can explain the route, but immigration authorities decide entry rules.
Gaborone safari packages cost about US$8,000 to US$30,000 per person for published 2027 trips. A 10-night journey from Gaborone through Maun to the Okavango Delta starts at US$11,800 per person. Camp level, season, route length, and charter flights shape the final price. [2][5]
Is Botswana good for safari?Botswana is good for safari because published circuits can combine Chobe National Park, the Okavango Delta, Moremi Game Reserve, the Central Kalahari Game Reserve, and Makgadikgadi. Typical circuits last 10 to 14 nights, so Botswana suits travelers who want a longer multi-region trip. [3]
What is the best time for a Gaborone safari?July to September is the peak dry-season period for Botswana safaris. November to April is a lower-cost period, with published trips described as 20% to 35% cheaper. May and November can suit travelers who want a balance between timing and value. [3]
Are international flights included in Botswana safari packages?International flights are generally excluded from Botswana safari packages. Remote fly-in safaris may also use small charter aircraft with fixed schedules and luggage-weight limits. Check both flight types in the written quote before booking. [4]

"Tongesai was awesome from the start. I knew he was a good tour operator because he answered all of my questions in a timely manner and no question was ever stupid. Everything was just as he said once we arrived and really it was better. We prepared for about a year in advance for this trip and the tour operator was instrumental and making this trip a success. I highly recommend this tour operator to anyone who wants to visit Zimbabwe, Zambia, and Botswana. Give Tongesai a call or email, and you will 100% not be disappointed. I have a very deep understanding of border crossing and transportation challenges in many African countries at this point because of the efforts of the tour operator. This makes my wife and I have very comfortable to approach another visit or look at visiting a different African country."

"We went on a 3 day safari, and even though Tongesai did not lead it himself, I want to highly recommend his services. Our group consisted of just my family; my wife, children (9, 13, 14), and me. Tongesai acted as the agent, coordinating with the organization in Botswana that ran the actual tour. He met us several days in advance, and had informed us of some critical information (like make sure to bring birth certificates for the kids) well in advance. On the first day of the Safari, he came to pick us up, and drove us to the border, where he coordinated a smooth hand over to the Botswana organization. The guide from our safari was so good! ‘Cobra’ grew up in the bush, and if shows. He was frequently coordinating with, and showing other tour guides where to find the best big game sightings. We saw so many animals, including lions, hippos, tons of elephants and giraffes, and too many other animals to name. The meals were also great! Cobra and Tongesai had contracted with ‘chef K’ for catered breakfast, lunch and dinner at the camp. All meals were great. And the camp itself was organized above my expectations. Very nice tents, raised cots, plenty warm, tables, chairs and napkins at every meal! All in all, the experience was pretty unforgettable. It’s not a cheap experience, but based on our trip I can highly recommend Tongesai’s services!"
