Safari tourism supports Uganda’s conservation system through park revenues, ranger operations, community benefits and private-sector partnerships. However, Uganda’s reliance on tourism also leaves protected areas vulnerable when visitor income falls, making diversified funding essential.[10]

A Gaborone safari can begin with a city stay and lead into Botswana’s remote parks, salt pans, deserts, and wetlands. Some 2027 packages cost up to US$30,000 per person, while shorter or shoulder-season trips offer lower entry points.
Gaborone Safari Packages 2027: Prices, Routes & Booking range from about US$8,000 to US$30,000 per person, based on camp level, season, and trip length. Popular routes connect Gaborone with the Okavango Delta and Chobe National Park. May and November suit lower-cost trips, while July to September suits peak wildlife travel.
Gaborone Safari Packages 2027: Prices, Routes & Booking is a planning guide for trips that start in Botswana’s capital. The city works as a useful arrival point before a longer journey into the bush. From there, routes may head north toward the Okavango Delta and Chobe National Park, or west toward the Kalahari Desert and Ghanzi.
As of August 2026, published 2027 prices show a wide range. Budget honeymoon plans using four-star camps start at about US$8,000 per person for seven nights. Luxury honeymoon plans can reach US$25,000–US$30,000 per person for ten nights during July to September [2].
Quick answer: A Gaborone safari package for 2027 costs about US$8,000–US$30,000 per person. Choose May or November for better shoulder-season value. Choose July to September for luxury camps and strong dry-season demand. Confirm flights, transfers, park fees, and meals before booking.
This guide explains routes, prices, camp styles, booking steps, and extra costs. It also shows how to compare verified operators through SafariFind. Use the guide to set a realistic budget before requesting quotes.
Gaborone safari packages for 2027 combine a Botswana arrival with guided wildlife travel in one or more regions. Packages may include camps, road or air transfers, meals, game drives, water activities, walking safaris, and park fees. The final price depends most on camp quality, season, and the number of nights.
Botswana is a strong choice for travelers who want private camps and varied landscapes. Gaborone gives travelers a clear starting point for a longer itinerary. A trip can then move north, west, or across borders, depending on the operator and travel plan.
Known for: Gaborone-based safari listings include year-round game-park trips. BookAllSafaris lists 12 game-park safari packages in Gaborone, with prices from US$14,850 [3]. This figure is a useful market reference, but it is not a fixed price for every 2027 itinerary.
Best for: Gaborone safari packages suit couples, honeymooners, families with older children, and travelers who want a guided trip. They also suit visitors who prefer one booking for accommodation, activities, and transfers.
Wilderness reports that its guests often combine two or three camps across ecosystems such as the Okavango Delta and Linyanti over seven to 14 nights [4]. This multi-camp style creates more variety, but it also raises the total cost.
Planning tip: Start by choosing your trip length and camp level. Then decide whether you want more driving, more flights, or more time in one region.
Compare 2027 Botswana safari packages and request quotes from verified operators before you commit to a route.
Gaborone safari package prices vary because camps, seasons, transfers, and inclusions change the daily cost. A seven-night shoulder-season trip can start near US$8,000 per person, while a ten-night luxury trip in peak season can reach US$30,000 [2]. Always compare the full package, not only the nightly rate.
| Name | Price | Duration | Rating | Best For |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Budget Botswana honeymoon itinerary | From about US$8,000 per person | 7 nights | Not provided | Couples seeking four-star camps |
| Gaborone game-park package listing | From US$14,850 | Not provided | Not provided | Year-round guided park trips |
| Luxury Botswana honeymoon itinerary | US$25,000–US$30,000 per person | 10 nights | Not provided | Peak-season luxury travelers |
These published figures come from different sellers and trip styles. They should guide your budget, not replace a written quote. A package priced from US$14,850 may include different services from a honeymoon itinerary priced at US$8,000.
Wilderness Botswana camps list nightly rates from about US$800 per person. Their stated inclusions cover twice-daily game drives or water activities, guided walking safaris, park fees, and most beverages [4]. Confirm whether your chosen camp uses the same inclusions.
International flights add about US$1,500–US$2,500 per person for the referenced Botswana honeymoon packages. Visas and travel insurance add about US$200–US$400 per person [2]. These costs can change, so keep them outside your core safari budget.
The Botswana bush-and-beach package comparison for 2027 can help travelers weigh a safari against a longer multi-country holiday.
Compare tour operators for a 2027 safari budget and request a detailed quote that lists every inclusion.
The best Gaborone safari route depends on your time, wildlife goals, and transfer budget. Northern routes focus on wetland and river settings. Western routes focus on desert landscapes and cultural travel. A specialist operator can combine regions, but each extra transfer adds time and cost.
The Okavango Delta is the main choice for travelers who want water-based activities and remote camps. A seven- to 14-night plan can combine the Delta with another ecosystem. Wilderness specifically describes multi-camp itineraries across areas such as the Okavango Delta and Linyanti [4].
Known for: Water activities, guided walks, and game drives at selected camps. Best for: Travelers who want varied safari activities rather than game drives alone. The Okavango walking safari guide for 2027 covers this style in more detail.
Chobe National Park suits travelers who want a river-focused northern route. Chobe can also fit a wider itinerary that reaches Kazungula and other nearby travel points. Review the Chobe National Park safari package guide for 2027 when comparing route length and booking details.
Best for: Visitors who want to add a major northern park to a Botswana itinerary. Chobe trips can work as a stand-alone safari or as one part of a multi-camp journey.
The Kalahari Desert offers a different setting from the Delta. The route suits travelers who want open desert scenery and a slower change of landscape. Ghanzi is another western destination to consider when building a desert-focused plan.
Makgadikgadi Pans National Park adds a salt-pan landscape to a Botswana route. Travelers can compare timing, camp style, and road transfers in the 2027 Makgadikgadi Pans tours guide.
Other listed destinations include Francistown, Kanye, Tau Pan, Gcwihaba Caves, Kazungula, and the Orange–Senqu River Basin. Add these only when they match your interests and available travel time.
Book a Gaborone safari by setting a budget, choosing a route, checking inclusions, and comparing verified operators. Begin planning in 2026 for 2027 travel, especially if you want peak-season dates from July to September. Request written quotes before paying a deposit.
Use US$8,000 per person as a published starting point for a seven-night, four-star shoulder-season honeymoon itinerary [2]. Use US$25,000–US$30,000 as a guide for ten-night, five-star-plus peak-season honeymoon travel [2]. Add flights, insurance, visas, and personal spending.
Choose one main goal. Select the Okavango Delta for water activities and varied camp experiences. Select Chobe for a northern river route. Select the Kalahari or Makgadikgadi for desert and salt-pan scenery. A clear goal helps prevent an expensive, rushed itinerary.
SafariFind connects travelers with verified tour operators and authentic traveler reviews. Use reviews to compare communication, guide quality, transfer planning, and how well the operator handled changes. A low price has less value if important transfers remain unclear.
Newmarket Holidays lists Botswana departures from April 2027 through November 2028. Its listed ten-day itinerary includes seven excursions or visits and 16 included meals [5]. This shows why you should compare both the trip length and the activity list.
Use a simple checklist when you compare quotes:
Image alt text suggestions: “Gaborone safari vehicle ready for a Botswana park route”; “Okavango Delta camp and water activity”; “Chobe National Park river safari boat”; “Makgadikgadi salt pans at sunset.”
The best booking practice is to compare like-for-like quotes before choosing a 2027 safari. Match the same number of nights, camp level, activities, and transfers. Then check the operator’s reviews and payment terms. This approach gives you a clearer price than comparing headline rates alone.
May and November are the published shoulder-season examples for lower-cost four-star honeymoon plans [2]. July to September are the published peak-season examples for luxury five-star-plus itineraries [2]. Your ideal month depends on the route and camp, so ask the operator what each season offers.
Four-star camps may suit travelers who want to protect their budget. Five-star-plus camps suit travelers who value private service, remote settings, and a higher level of comfort. Wilderness lists fully inclusive camp rates from about US$800 per person per night, but confirm the rate for your exact dates [4].
Do not add every destination to one short trip. A seven-night plan may work best with one or two main areas. A seven- to 14-night plan gives more room for two or three camps across different ecosystems [4]. Include rest time when flights or long road transfers connect regions.
Ask for a full itinerary before you pay. It should show camp names, dates, transfers, activities, meals, fees, and emergency contacts. Keep copies of the quote, payment receipt, insurance documents, and cancellation terms.
SafariFind lets you compare packages, inspect operator profiles, and read authentic reviews in one place. You can also request quotes when you need a route designed around your dates, budget, or preferred camp level.

Popular routes connect Gaborone with the Okavango Delta and Chobe National Park. Travelers can also add the Kalahari Desert, Ghanzi, or Makgadikgadi Pans National Park. The best route depends on your trip length, activities, and transfer budget.
A seven-night safari suits travelers who want a focused itinerary. Seven to 14 nights suits travelers who want two or three camps across different ecosystems. Wilderness describes this multi-camp pattern for Okavango Delta and Linyanti travel [4].
Add about US$1,500–US$2,500 per person for international flights, plus US$200–US$400 for visas and travel insurance in the referenced honeymoon examples [2]. Ask whether domestic flights, road transfers, park fees, drinks, and meals are included.

"On 10.9. until 1.10. In 2023, I went on a trip to Botswana, Zimbabwe and a short visit to Zambia with my clients - friends. I carefully prepared the trip in cooperation with the manager of Cultural Vibes Travel & Tours, Mr. Tongesai Mutematsaka. After arriving in Gaborone we organized a short tour of the city ourselves and met Tongesai in Maun. Tongesai was our driver and guide practically the whole way. We visited the Okavango River Delta and its surroundings (Moremi Reserve, Mokoro boat cruise, flight over the Okavango Delta. This was followed by a visit to the Makgadikgadi Salt Flats, then the Elephant Sands area and in Botswana Chobe National Park with a cruise on the Chobe River. Then we crossed to Zimbabwe, which was the main part of our journey. In the Victoria Falls area, we visited the Monde settlement, took a helicopter flight over Victoria Falls, followed by a cruise on the Zambezi River as part of a visit to the national park of the same name. We also walked past Victoria Falls on the Zimbabwean side and had a Boma dinner in the evening (too much of a "tourist thing"). On the Zambian side of the falls we saw white rhinos in Mosi - oa - Tunya National Park, then visited the museum in Livingstone and walked the Zambian side of the falls. From Victoria Falls, we headed to Hwange National Park, where we had a beautiful program - a safari, and after Hwange, there was also a very interesting program in Matobo National Park (there, among other things, white rhinos (a mother with her little daughter), beautiful rock formations and prehistoric cave drawings. The next place visited was Khami with very interesting buildings, and then we visited the ruins of Great Zimbabwe, which are among the most important world monuments. This was followed by a visit to the Chinhoya Karst and finally the gallery in Harare. I would also like to comment on the provision of services: Accommodation in the hotels was at the standard, expected level, only the service at the Great Zimbabwe Hotel was rather lazy. Accommodation in lodges - very good and the best accommodation was in Iganyana tented camp in Hwange National Park, mainly due to the extraordinary professionalism and very friendly attitude of the staff there towards us, the visitors. I must also highly praise all the local guides we met everywhere, e.g. in Chobe, Hwange and Matobo National Parks. I want to emphasize that this journey is one of the most interesting that I have made around the world. I believe that my clients - friends were also satisfied with the set. Thanks to the travel agency Cultural Vibes Travel & Tours and Mr. Tongesai Mutematsaka. I recommend Cultural Vibes Travel & Tours to anyone considering a trip to Zimbabwe."

"I spent a week in Botswana with cultural vibes, travels & tours and had not a single dull moment. The hotels/lodges we stayed at were very clean and service was professional. On the drives I had good conversations with the tour operator as he taught me a lot about the culture and about all the different animals (which we saw a lot of). Overall I had a great experience and would definitely book again."

"Tongesai was awesome from the start. I knew he was a good tour operator because he answered all of my questions in a timely manner and no question was ever stupid. Everything was just as he said once we arrived and really it was better. We prepared for about a year in advance for this trip and the tour operator was instrumental and making this trip a success. I highly recommend this tour operator to anyone who wants to visit Zimbabwe, Zambia, and Botswana. Give Tongesai a call or email, and you will 100% not be disappointed. I have a very deep understanding of border crossing and transportation challenges in many African countries at this point because of the efforts of the tour operator. This makes my wife and I have very comfortable to approach another visit or look at visiting a different African country."

"We went on a 3 day safari, and even though Tongesai did not lead it himself, I want to highly recommend his services. Our group consisted of just my family; my wife, children (9, 13, 14), and me. Tongesai acted as the agent, coordinating with the organization in Botswana that ran the actual tour. He met us several days in advance, and had informed us of some critical information (like make sure to bring birth certificates for the kids) well in advance. On the first day of the Safari, he came to pick us up, and drove us to the border, where he coordinated a smooth hand over to the Botswana organization. The guide from our safari was so good! ‘Cobra’ grew up in the bush, and if shows. He was frequently coordinating with, and showing other tour guides where to find the best big game sightings. We saw so many animals, including lions, hippos, tons of elephants and giraffes, and too many other animals to name. The meals were also great! Cobra and Tongesai had contracted with ‘chef K’ for catered breakfast, lunch and dinner at the camp. All meals were great. And the camp itself was organized above my expectations. Very nice tents, raised cots, plenty warm, tables, chairs and napkins at every meal! All in all, the experience was pretty unforgettable. It’s not a cheap experience, but based on our trip I can highly recommend Tongesai’s services!"
