About this safari
Experience the ultimate Northern Kenya safari with our exciting package to Meru National Park and Samburu National Reserve—two of Kenya’s most breathtaking and less-crowded wildlife destinations. This unforgettable journey combines stunning landscapes, rich wildlife, and authentic cultural encounters for travelers seeking a true African adventure.
Born Free Elsa Memorial in Meru National Park is one of Kenya’s most touching wildlife heritage sites, honoring the famous lioness Elsa from the book and film Born Free. Elsa was raised by conservationists Joy Adamson and George Adamson, then successfully returned to the wild in Meru, becoming a global symbol of wildlife conservation. Visitors to the memorial can experience the peaceful setting where Elsa once roamed, surrounded by the park’s beautiful landscapes, rivers, and rich wildlife. It is a meaningful stop for safari guests, combining history, nature, and inspiration while celebrating Kenya’s remarkable conservation legacy.
Continue to the rugged beauty of Samburu National Reserve, home to rare northern species known as the “Samburu Special Five” — Grevy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe, Somali ostrich, gerenuk, and Beisa oryx. Enjoy spectacular game drives along the Ewaso Nyiro River, where elephants, leopards, and crocodiles gather.
Aberdare National Park has a rich history closely linked to Kenya’s struggle for independence. Established in 1950 to protect the forests, moorlands, and wildlife of the Aberdare Range, the park later became a significant area during the Mau Mau Uprising. The dense forests and rugged mountains of the Aberdares provided ideal hideouts and supply routes for freedom fighters led by figures such as Dedan Kimathi and other members of the Kenya Land and Freedom Army. From these forests, they organized resistance against British colonial rule, making the region one of the most important centers of the liberation struggle. Today, visitors to Aberdare National Park can enjoy its waterfalls, wildlife, and mountain scenery while also appreciating its deep connection to the sacrifices that helped Kenya achieve independence in 1963.
