6-Day Ngorongoro/Serengeti/Manyara Road Safari

On arrival at Kilimanjaro Airport, you will be met by your driver-guide and transferred to Ngorongoro Crater via Arusha. The road ascends the slopes of Mt. Ngorongoro and passes along the crater rim, offering stunning views of the Great Rift Valley. You will check in at a luxury lodge perched 2,000 feet above the crater floor, where you can enjoy rich décor, spacious rooms, and spectacular vistas.

After an early breakfast, you will set out for a full-day game drive on the crater floor with a picnic lunch. The crater’s open terrain allows for close-up sightings of lions, rhinos, elephants, and a wide variety of other wildlife. Note that giraffes are rarely seen due to limited tree-level vegetation. In the evening, return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Following breakfast, depart Ngorongoro and drive to Serengeti National Park, stopping at Olduvai Gorge to learn about the Leakey family’s archaeological discoveries of early hominid fossils and tools. Continue into the Serengeti for game viewing en route to your lodge. Observe wildlife around the rocky kopjes and watch lions, wildebeest, zebra, gazelle, and other grazers in their natural habitat.

Spend a full day exploring the Serengeti with morning and afternoon game drives, including a lunch and leisure break at the lodge. Observe the Big Five and other wildlife, as well as large herds of wildebeest and zebra if visiting during the migration season. The vast plains, kopjes, and permanent hippo springs offer unmatched photo opportunities. Dinner and overnight are at the lodge.

Begin the day with a final morning Serengeti game drive or an optional hot-air balloon ride with champagne brunch. Depart overland to Lake Manyara, located on the edge of the Great Rift Valley, with spectacular views en route. In the afternoon, explore Lake Manyara National Park, home to tree-climbing lions, elephants, leopards, monkeys, and abundant birdlife.

After breakfast, depart Lake Manyara for Arusha, arriving in time for lunch. You will then be transferred to the airport for your flight home, concluding your unforgettable safari adventure.
