About this safari
The 4-Day Mount Meru Trek offers a rewarding and scenic adventure on Mount Meru, Tanzania's second-highest peak, located within Arusha National Park. Known as Mount Kilimanjaro's "little brother", Mount Meru offers spectacular scenery, diverse wildlife and fewer crowds, making it a rewarding alternative or acclimatisation climb. The trek begins at Momella Gate, winding through lush montane forest, before continuing into open heath, moorland and dramatic ridges. Over four days, the slower pace allows for better acclimatisation, offering panoramic vistas of the surrounding plains. The adventure culminates with an early morning summit to Socialist Peak, where you will be rewarded with spectacular sunrise views, often with Mount Kilimanjaro visible in the distance, before descending via the same route, with a final chance to take in the diverse landscapes and wildlife of this unique mountain experience.
