<p>Breakfast and check out. After your safari briefing, you will embark on a transfer to Volcanoes National Park, a scenic drive through Rwanda's stunning mountainous landscape and lush green countryside—true to its name, "The Land of a Thousand Hills."</p><p>Arrival and check-in for lunch at Davinci Lodge.</p><p>Afternoon: Visit the Ellen DeGeneres Campus of the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund to learn about gorilla conservation, Dian Fossey's legacy, and the ongoing community and research programs.</p><p>Dinner and overnight at the lodge.</p>

<p>This morning, after breakfast, you will be transferred from your lodge to the park headquarters for a briefing on the day's gorilla trekking adventure. It is advisable to pack a lunch, carry sufficient drinking water, and consider hiring a porter, as the duration of the trek is unpredictable. After the briefing by the park rangers, you'll be assigned a gorilla family group and begin your trek into the forest in search of these gentle giants. The trek can range from a few hours to a full day, depending on the location of the gorillas, which is influenced by where the community-led trackers last spotted them.</p><p>A good level of physical fitness is required for this activity; however, for those who may need assistance, sedan chairs ("human helicopters") are available for hire.</p><p>Once located, you will have the unforgettable opportunity to spend up to one hour observing them in their natural habitat—capturing photos and videos, while maintaining a respectful distance.</p><p>After the trek, return to your lodge for a well-deserved lunch and relaxation (option of a picnic lunch), then head straight to the community visit.</p><p><strong>Afternoon Community Visit to Red Rocks</strong></p><p>In the afternoon, enjoy a guided community walk to Red Rocks, a local initiative dedicated to enhancing community livelihoods through environmental conservation, arts and culture, education, and community health and safety. This immersive experience offers a meaningful opportunity to engage with local traditions and support sustainable development efforts.</p><p>Overnight at your lodge.</p>

<p>Breakfast at the Lodge and transfer to Kigali. Depending on your flight schedule, you will have a Kigali city tour that includes a visit to the Kigali Genocide Memorial and Museum, where you’ll gain insight into the events of the 1994 genocide. You will also have the opportunity to explore local markets and experience the vibrant culture of the city. </p><p>Your designated guide will then drop you off at the Airport for your departure flight (or at the hotel if you are staying the night in Kigali).</p>
