Today, you will set out on a drive to Tarangire National Park, a journey that takes approximately one hour. Spanning around 2,850 km², the park is about the size of Luxembourg and features a diverse landscape of bush savannah, seasonal swamps, and towering baobab trees. Tarangire is considered one of the best places in East Africa to observe large herds of elephants in their natural habitat.

From the open roof of your safari vehicle, you'll enjoy panoramic views of the landscape and have the chance to spot a wide variety of wildlife. In addition to elephants, the park is home to Masai giraffes, buffalo, antelopes, gazelles, lions, leopards, baboons, and over 500 species of birds.

After an exciting and immersive game drive, you'll continue to your accommodation in Mto wa Mbu, where you’ll spend the night surrounded by nature.

After an early breakfast, you’ll descend into the Ngorongoro Crater via a steep and winding road. As you make your way down, the lush forested slopes gradually give way to open savannah, scattered with graceful acacia trees. The scenery is spectacular, and the wildlife even more so. With a bit of luck, you may spot the legendary Big Five: lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino, and leopard.

The crater also teems with other wildlife, including warthogs, wildebeests, zebras, hippos, hyenas, and many more species. After an exciting morning of game viewing, you’ll enjoy a picnic lunch amidst the natural beauty of the crater. In the afternoon, you’ll ascend the crater walls and return to your camp for an overnight stay.

Here are some fascinating facts: the Ngorongoro Crater is the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera, formed by the collapse of a massive volcano 2 to 3 million years ago; the crater spans 304 km², is approximately 600 meters deep, and has a diameter of about 20 kilometers.

Today, you’ll journey to a primate and birdwatcher’s paradise, Lake Manyara National Park. Despite its relatively small size, the park boasts an incredible diversity of landscapes, including acacia woodlands, lush underground water forests, and stunning views of the lake itself. These varied habitats support a rich array of wildlife and an impressive abundance of aquatic and forest birds.

Lake Manyara is especially known for its large population of baboons, along with giraffes, elephants, impalas, and, with a bit of luck, its famous tree-climbing lions, a rare and fascinating behavior.

After an unforgettable wildlife experience, you’ll depart the park in the afternoon and drive back to Arusha, marking the end of your safari adventure.
