This 3 day fly in safari takes you straight to the heart of the action in the remote Northern Serengeti. Flying directly into Kogatende Airstrip eliminates long, tiring overland drives from Arusha, putting you within minutes of the iconic Mara River. Your daily route centers on flexible, full-day game drives tracking the movement of massive wildebeest herds across the Kogatende sector as they prepare to brave the dramatic riverbank drop-offs.
Between July and October, the region turns into the stage for nature’s grandest spectacle: thousands of wildebeest and zebras plunging into the Mara River, fighting rushing currents while dodging massive Nile crocodiles. Beyond the riverbanks, the surrounding acacia woodlands and open plains host incredible year-round game. Expect frequent sightings of apex predators prides of lions, leopards resting on tree branches, and cheetahs on the prowl alongside resident elephants, giraffes, hippos, and abundant bird species.

Fly into Serengeti National Park – Kogatende
Your adventure begins with an air flight to the Kogatende airstrip, located in the northern Serengeti. After a short transfer to your tented lodge, you will settle in, enjoy a delicious lunch, and take a moment to soak in the peaceful atmosphere. Then it's time to head out — camera ready, safari spirit on! The action starts right away. From July through September, this region becomes the stage for one of nature's most dramatic shows: the great migration. Wildebeest and zebra herds cross the Mara River in search of fresh grazing — and with them come predators. You will be exploring in open-sided safari vehicles which allow for an immersive experience — especially during exciting moments like river crossings or predator sightings.
