08:00 – Hotel Pick-up in Arusha
Your guide/driver collects you from your Arusha hotel/lodge. 30-min scenic drive to Ng’iresi Village on Mt. Meru’s slopes.
08:30 – Arrival & Welcome at Mzee Loti’s Farm
Traditional Wa-Arusha welcome with singing and dancing. Coffee/tea served as your host explains the day.
09:00 – Farm & Sustainability Projects Tour
Walk Mzee Loti’s farm to learn about biogas systems, crossbreeding, soil conservation, and irrigation projects the village runs. Great insight into how the community blends tradition with modern farming.
10:00 – Village & Traditional Homes Visit
Guided walk to nearby bomas to compare traditional Maasai vs. Wa Arusha houses. See daily life: maize grinding, crafts, livestock keeping.
Visit Ng’iresi Primary School, built 1975 part of your fee supports school development.
12:00 – Traditional Lunch
Enjoy a local meal prepared by the Juhudi Women’s Group at Mzee Loti’s farm. Taste authentic Wa-Arusha dishes.
13:00 – Nature Hike: Forest & Waterfall
Walk toward Olgilai Forest Reserve on Mt. Meru’s slopes. Follow a path through Themi River canyon to Navuru Waterfall also called Songoto. Spot blue monkeys and hornbills. Weather permitting, you can dip in the cool water.
15:00 – Traditional Healer & Lekimana Hill
Meet a local healer to learn about medicinal plants and ancient remedies used for generations.
Climb Lekimana Hill for panoramic views of Arusha town, Maasai plains, and on clear days, Mt. Kilimanjaro.
16:00 – Return to Arusha
Descend and transfer back to your hotel in Arusha
