About this safari
Explore the Ngorongoro Crater the world’s largest intact and unfilled volcanic caldera, and the crown jewel of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. The crater was formed around three million years ago when a massive volcano collapsed in on itself, creating a natural bowl over 600 meters deep. Over time, streams carved their way down the crater walls, forming small ponds and sustaining a rich ecosystem teeming with wildlife.

You will be picked up from your hotel in Arusha at 7:00 AM and driven to the Ngorongoro Crater for a full-day tour inside the Ngorongoro Crater. Your driver-guide will set up a table for a freshly prepared hot lunch, including soup, bread rolls, a main course, and fruit salad served alongside a glass of wine, as well as tea and coffee. After lunch, you’ll continue your game drive into the afternoon, exploring the diverse wildlife the crater has to offer. By late afternoon, you’ll begin the journey back to Arusha, where you’ll be dropped off at your hotel or at the airport depending on your schedule.
During your visit, you’ll also explore Lake Magadi, a shallow alkaline lake located in the crater’s southwestern corner. This area is a haven for birdlife, including large flocks of flamingos, as well as hippos and other water birds that thrive in the lake's unique ecosystem.
