South Africa beach safari holidays in 2027 cost about US$1,600 for a budget 10-day trip and up to US$8,610 for an 11-day luxury Garden Route holiday. Popular routes join wildlife areas with Durban, the Garden Route, the Wild Coast, or a beach add-on in nearby Eswatini. July and August have several listed 2027 departures, so early planning matters.
US$8,610 is the listed price for an 11-day luxury Garden Route holiday, while a 22-day Southern Africa safari costs US$7,136 per person. [4] [5]
South Africa beach safari holidays in 2027 combine a wildlife trip with time beside the coast. You can pair private game drives with the Garden Route, add Durban to a northern itinerary, or choose a longer route through the Wild Coast. The right plan depends on your budget, trip length, and interest in private reserves.
Prices are wide because the trips are not alike. A family departure costs US$3,320 per adult and US$3,040 per child. [3] A luxury Garden Route trip costs US$8,610, excluding flights. [4] A private Greater Kruger stay costs US$5,500 per person sharing for seven days and six nights. [7]
Quick answer: A South Africa beach safari holiday in 2027 costs about US$1,600 to US$8,610 per person, based on the listed trip types. Choose 10 to 15 days for a focused safari and coast route. Choose 22 days for a wider Southern Africa journey. Confirm flights, transfers, meals, park fees, and beach stays before booking.
SafariFind connects travelers with verified tour operators and authentic traveler reviews. Its catalog helps you compare routes before you commit to a long 2027 itinerary. The practical choice is to compare what each quote includes, not only the headline price.
South Africa beach safari holidays in 2027 are multi-day trips that join game viewing with a coastal stay or a coastal driving route. They may include national parks, private reserves, family activities, beach towns, and guided walks. The listed examples range from 10-day budget trips to 22-day Southern Africa tours.
South Africa is known for routes that connect inland reserves with coastal roads. A Garden Route and Wild Coast tour lasts 14 days and starts at R41,590. [6] A luxury Garden Route holiday lasts 11 days and starts at US$8,610, excluding flights. [4]
Kruger National Park is one useful inland anchor for a beach safari plan. You can also consider Greater Kruger private concessions, where one listed seven-day package costs US$5,500 per person sharing. [7] That package includes meals, game drives, conservation fees, and unlimited off-road access.
Beach safari holidays are best for travelers who want a mixed itinerary. Families may prefer a scheduled departure with a fixed price. Couples may choose a private reserve and a slower coastal route. Small groups may find value in a 10-day or 14-day shared trip.
Family travel is a clear part of the 2027 market. Explore lists departures on March 27 and July 24, 2027, at US$3,320 per adult and US$3,040 per child. [3] Cottey College lists a South Africa trip from July 18 to July 28, 2027, with sunrise and sunset game drives in private reserves and national parks. [1]
South Africa beach safari holidays also work well for travelers who dislike choosing between a safari and the sea. The route can give you game viewing first, then a coastal section with fewer daily drives. Still, ask whether the beach nights are guided, self-drive, or part of a group tour.
Compare 2027 South Africa safari packages and quote inclusions on SafariFind before choosing a route, especially if you need flights or transfers included.
The Garden Route is the clearest coastal option in the listed research. The Wild Coast adds a longer route with nature, beach, and walking elements. Durban can work as a beach stop before or after a northern game reserve. Eswatini beach add-ons create another regional option for travelers who want a safari plus coast combination.
Eswatini safari holidays with beach add-ons cost about US$2,870 to US$5,320 per person for 12 to 15 days. Two-day add-ons cost about US$1,020 to US$1,071. [2] These figures give you a useful benchmark when comparing a South Africa-only itinerary with a regional route.
A safari holiday in South Africa costs about US$1,600 to US$8,610 per person in the 2027 listings reviewed here. The lower figure represents a budget 10-day safari. The higher figure represents an 11-day luxury Garden Route trip that excludes flights. Group size, lodge level, route length, and included services change the final price.
| Trip type | Price | Duration | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Budget South Africa safari | From US$1,600 | 10 days | Value-focused travelers |
| Family South Africa and beach adventure | US$3,320 adult, US$3,040 child | Listed 2027 departure | Families |
| Eswatini safari with beach add-on | US$2,870 to US$5,320 | 12 to 15 days | Regional safari travelers |
| Southern Africa safari | US$7,136 per person | 22 days | Long-route travelers |
| Luxury Garden Route vacation | From US$8,610 | 11 days | Luxury coastal travelers |
The budget 10-day price of US$1,600 is a useful starting point, not a promise for every departure. The research summary identifies it as a budget safari figure, while the detailed source list gives named prices for other trip types. Ask for a written quote that shows the exact route and travel dates.
The family option gives a clearer cost for parents and children. Explore lists US$3,320 per adult and US$3,040 per child for its 2027 South Africa and beach adventure departures. [3] The listed dates include March 27 to April 8 and July 24 to August 5, 2027.
The 22-day Southern Africa itinerary costs US$7,136 per person. Pavlus shows several 2027 departures, including June 6 to June 27 and June 20 to July 11. [5] This price suits travelers who want a long regional journey rather than a short coast extension.
Every quote should state whether it includes meals, game drives, conservation fees, flights, transfers, beach accommodation, and guide services. The Greater Kruger example includes meals, game drives, conservation fees, and unlimited off-road access. [7] The luxury Garden Route example excludes flights. [4]
Longer routes can look cheaper per day, but they may include more shared transport and fewer private nights. A luxury trip may cost more because it uses private reserves, specialist guides, or higher-grade accommodation. Read the day-by-day plan before judging value.
Find 2027 beach safari packages that match your budget, then request quotes from verified operators. Compare the included services line by line, and read authentic reviews before you pay a deposit.
The best 2027 route depends on your available days. Choose a 10-day plan for a compact safari and coast trip, 14 days for the Garden Route and Wild Coast, or 22 days for a broad Southern Africa journey. A private Greater Kruger stay suits travelers who care most about game drives.
The Garden Route and Wild Coast route lasts 14 days and starts at R41,590. [6] Its listed trip type includes nature and wildlife, beach and safari, wilderness walks, and mountain activities. This route suits active travelers who want more movement between coastal areas.
Its main trade-off is pace. Fourteen days allows a fuller journey, but the route may involve more road time than a fixed lodge stay. Ask how many nights you spend at each stop and whether game drives come before, during, or after the coastal section.
Greater Kruger is the strongest choice for travelers who want a private safari first. The listed package lasts seven days and six nights and costs US$5,500 per person sharing. [7] It includes meals, game drives, conservation fees, and unlimited off-road access.
Kruger National Park can anchor the inland part of a longer plan. A route may then continue toward Durban or another coast stop. Confirm the transfer time, because the value of a beach extension falls if travel takes away too many usable days.
Travelers interested in night viewing can read the guide to Kruger night drive packages for 2027. Night drives are a separate trip feature, so check that your chosen operator includes them.
The family route is a strong choice for parents who want a planned departure. Explore lists a 2027 family South Africa and beach adventure at US$3,320 per adult and US$3,040 per child. [3] The listed dates include March 27 and July 24 departures.
Families should confirm room sharing rules, child ages, vehicle time, and meal plans. A beach stop can give children a break from early game drives. It also gives parents a simple way to balance wildlife with rest.
Eswatini safari holidays with beach add-ons cost US$2,870 to US$5,320 for 12 to 15 days. [2] Two-day beach add-ons cost US$1,020 to US$1,071. This route suits travelers who want a regional trip and do not need every night inside South Africa.
Eswatini is a practical comparison for travelers building a longer southern Africa holiday. Check border crossings, vehicle arrangements, and the number of beach nights. Those details affect both comfort and the time available for wildlife.
The 22-day Contiki Southern Africa Safari costs US$7,136 per person. [5] Pavlus lists several 2027 departures between June 6 and August 1. This route suits travelers who have more than three weeks and want a wider regional experience.
A 22-day journey is a serious time commitment. It can reduce the need to choose between inland reserves and the coast, but it may feel too long for a first safari. Compare the number of game-drive days with the number of travel days.
Start by choosing your trip length, then compare the route, accommodation, and included services. For 2027, begin with the listed departure dates and ask operators to confirm space, prices, and flight arrangements. A clear day-by-day quote is more useful than a low headline rate.
Next, decide whether you prefer a shared group or a private trip. Shared departures can keep costs lower. Private travel gives you more control over the pace, vehicle, and time at wildlife areas.
Ask the operator to list accommodation, meals, park fees, conservation fees, transfers, guides, and airport transport. The Greater Kruger example includes several of these items, while the luxury Garden Route price excludes flights. [4] [7]
Also ask about beach accommodation. A coastal hotel, a guided beach stay, and a self-drive stop create different experiences. The words “beach safari” do not explain the standard of the beach stay by themselves.
SafariFind connects travelers with verified tour operators and authentic reviews. Use those reviews to check guide quality, communication, vehicle comfort, and how closely the operator followed the listed route. Then request a quote with the same dates from more than one operator.
Useful questions include:
Keep the route simple if this is your first safari. One inland wildlife area and one coastal region can feel more relaxed than several short stops. A longer trip can include more places, but each transfer uses time and energy.
Travelers who want a northern safari can compare Hoedspruit safari packages for 2027. Those who prefer a coastal wildlife stop can review Boulders Beach tours for 2027. These guides can help separate a beach visit from a full beach safari route.
A safari holiday in South Africa costs about US$1,600 to US$8,610 in the 2027 examples reviewed. The lower figure represents a budget 10-day safari. The higher figure covers an 11-day luxury Garden Route holiday and excludes flights. Family, private reserve, and regional routes use different prices.

"We made our reservations with 50% down-payment way back in Feb-26, 4 months before our trip in June and balance 50% one month before departure from Singapore. We were not sure and worried a bit whether things would turn out as described and promised, as this is our first ever trip to South Africa. All our worries disappeared from the moment we were picked up upon arrival according to the itinerary, and subsequent daily trips were excellent in view of timing, routes, transports, accommodations, meals, and to the local guides and drivers assigned. Everything is above and beyond our expectations, and we sincerely thank Safari Tailors for providing us such a memorable trip of our life!"

"Communications with Mack via email were swift and comprehensible. We were picked up at the airport on arrival by our guide, Thomas, who would be with us for the whole week. We signed up for a budget camping safari, and we had a great time! The campsites were nicer than I thought they would be, and the Kiliholidays team did a great job of taking care of us the whole trip. Thomas was very accommodating, and our 'stomach engineer' did a fantastic job the whole trip. My partner and I were very impressed by the quality of the food. Thomas was an incredible driver; a few times we had to stop and help other drivers who were stuck! This was my second visit to East Africa, and I will definitely book with Kiliholidays for my third trip :) A few tips for other travelers: The sleeping mattress was a bit thin for me (my partner had no trouble!), but I found that sleeping on my back instead of my side helped. If you have sensitive hips, I'd recommend bringing something to use as a cushion, or possibly arranging for an extra mattress. The tent was high-quality and the sleeping bags were warm. We stayed in Mto wa Mbu a few nights and it was quite hot there. We brought sleeping sacks (very thin) and used those instead. Bring LOTS of insect repellent and use it often (biting flies in the daytime, mosquitoes at night). Same with hand sanitizer (public campsite toilets don't usually have soap). Granola bars are a good idea, too, if you like to snack between meals. There's not a lot of access to ice, so if you like an evening adult-beverage, just ask your guide to stop before you leave Arusha to pick up some wine. We picked up a 5-liter box of South African wine for about 25euros and it was very convenient (bring your own cups!)."

"This is the second time I have traveled with my family with GoExplore. The first time was an amazing Uganda experience (already reviewed) and this second experience with my husband to Kenya was equally amazing. Brian organized organized both tours for me and tailored them according to my wishes. As this is still the time of unsure flights and Covid difficulties, he was easily able to adapt to some changes with travel that were beyond our control. GoExplore is a boutique business that is very personalized and offers you the equal and more than a large corporate operator. The price point is compatible with group tours but you will have your own personal driver and guide for yourself and there is nothing to compare with this luxury. Because of that, you will also be able to adapt your days schedule if you wish according what you want and not what is a groups plan. We were completely happy and satisfied with all aspects of our travel (on both trips). Brian knows the safari tour industry and is constantly working to improve the business, his knowledge about lodges, the parks, restaurants and all minute aspects of the tour. He will be able to personally attest to the quality of whatever product he is recommending to you. Sammi was our driver in Kenya and we can only say that he was amazing. He knew more about wildlife (and every birds name and details) than an encyclopedia, was an amazingly adept driver in sometimes rough conditions (traffic, rough park roads, etc.) and looked out for our interests. While respecting the animals, he went above and beyond trying to make sure we saw every different animal we could. We appreciated that he obviously respected and cared about the animals we were seeing. (Not all safari drivers do and will do anything to try to get to see something up close, even while encroaching too much on their space.) We had a minor vehicle difficulty and Sammi made sure that everything went smoothly and we didn't miss a minute of our trip or schedule. He is quite an asset to GoExplore. Sammi only drives on Kenya trips but if you go to Uganda, I highly recommend Moses who was equally great. Overall, the trip was an unforgettable trip of a lifetime. If you haven't gone on a safari before, you should trip to put this on your life plan. There is nothing like it and when you plan it, you want a safari operator that will listen to your needs, wants, and budget and tailor it to fit you. GoExplore will do that in a personal way. Our lodges that Brian picked were magical and the food was outstanding. There was nothing about our trip that we would have changed. I highly recommend GoExplore if you want to travel to any of the countries they operate in. If not those countries, then reconsider them over the more commercialized ones (such as South Africa) and you won't be disappointed."

"We just finished a 2-week tour of South Africa with extension to Victoria Falls and the Monde Village Cultural Experience was one of the highlights of the entire trip. It is a must-do for anyone in the area. Tongesai (our guide) was very personable and worked with us to customize the experience. He was flexible and took time to explain many things that aren't part of the "regular tour". We had great conversations throughout the tour. He ended up dropping us off so late (8:30pm), his wife had to call him twice. He took a few pictures with us so he had alibi. :) Mr Ncube (our village host) and his family were welcoming and excited to show us their way of life. Mr Ncube's explanations of his culture, family structure, farming struggles, and discussions on many topics showed us a simple way of life, much different than our modern American ways, but it made so much sense. People here fight hard to live but they do it with a smile. They may be poor, but not in spirit. We asked many questions and received questions ourselves. It was as if I was visiting an uncle living in a rural part of a third-world country. This family made us felt at home. We wish we had more time to sit under the summer kitchen during a raining day, sharing food and chatting with these folks. We wish we could sit in the winter kitchen to hear him teach his children and grandchildren. Needless to say, we spent 4+ hrs at this experience and wanted more. I am now back to "civilization" in a nice Qatari hotel, but I kept thinking about my time in the simple Monde Village. What a breath of fresh air that was. I brought some extra clothes to give, but ended up giving as much as I could live without for the rest of my trip. A pair of sandals doesn't mean much to me, but it means a lot to people in these villages. This is 30+ hrs flight from home so it is a one-time chance to help; I had to make the best of it. If I can come back to this area, I will definitely bring more people to share in this amazing experience. I encourage all who come to Victoria Falls to add this cultural experience to their itinerary."
5★ - "Cultural Vibes Travel and Tours has proved to be excellent yet again as this is now the third time, we have used them and a much-needed break after almost 3 years with the Covid pandemic. Tongesai is extremely reliable, " - Charles Kinnaird • Verified review
"Cultural Vibes Travel and Tours has proved to be excellent yet again as this is now the third time, we have used them and a much-needed break after almost 3 years with the Covid pandemic. Tongesai is extremely reliable, professional, knowledgeable and does everything to make your trip a memorable experience. Compared to local larger companies, Tongesai’s individual package rates are more reasonable and come with a customized touch. We felt that our holiday with Tongesai was much better and suited us more so than if we had booked through a larger company. His individual tailoring, personal involvement and attention to detail pays off in the smooth running of your trip. Our visits to the Victoria Falls, both sides from Zimbabwe and Zambia were magnificent and never cease to amaze us. On this trip Tongesai arranged for a private sunset cruise on the Zambezi just for our family of four instead of on the larger vessels, which was a very pleasant alternative. The boat trip in Chobe is magical and a must if you venture into Botswana. Wildlife was in abundance, including lion, elephant, wildebeest, buffalo, puku, kudu, bushbuck, waterbuck, impala, gemsbok, steenbok, sable and roan antelope, etc. We even saw a relative of Cecil, the famous black-maned lion, ‘once a true king of Hwange National Park’. I have no hesitation in recommending the company for arranging tours in Zimbabwe, Zambia and Botswana - we will definitely be seeing him again. He is currently setting up arrangements with colleagues in Kruger National Park to venture into South Africa and I wish him every success with that."
