A 7-day Namibia safari can cost about $2,100 on a camping plan or reach $16,395 for a high-end lodge itinerary. That wide gap makes route planning matter.
A Namibia Safari Itinerary 2027: 7 Days, Routes and Costs guide helps you choose between camping, lodge, self-drive, and fly-in travel. Current examples range from about $300 per day for camping to $16,395 for a luxury itinerary. The strongest seven-day routes combine Etosha National Park with the Skeleton Coast or Hoanib River Valley.
Namibia safari itineraries are strong choices for travelers who want wildlife and large open spaces in one trip. A seven-day plan can link Etosha National Park with the Skeleton Coast, Hoanib River Valley, or a desert stop. The right route depends on your budget, driving comfort, and interest in camping or lodges.
Namibia also rewards careful planning. Long road legs can take time, while fly-in trips cover more ground at a higher price. A short trip should focus on two main areas rather than trying to cover the whole country. That keeps the schedule practical and gives you more time for game drives.
Quick answer: A seven-day Namibia safari in 2027 costs about $300 per day for a camping option, $5,330 for selected lodge departures, $8,500 for one luxury fly-in package, and $16,395 for a premium lodge itinerary. Etosha is the clearest wildlife base, while the Skeleton Coast adds remote coastal scenery.
A seven-day route gives you enough time to visit Etosha and add one major region. A northern itinerary can combine Etosha with the Skeleton Coast. A premium itinerary can add the Hoanib River Valley through remote camps and guided wildlife drives [1].
Etosha National Park is the best-known wildlife anchor in the supplied 2027 options. TourRadar lists a seven-day Northern Namibia and Skeleton Coast camping safari with Etosha game drives and camping equipment at about $300 per day [4]. This makes the route easier to understand for travelers watching daily costs.
Luxury travelers have a different choice. Beyond Africa lists a seven-day package from $8,500 per person sharing. The package includes internal charter flights, guided activities, conservation fees, and four to five nights at Shipwreck Lodge [5]. The same company lists a combined Skeleton Coast and Etosha circuit from $13,000 per person [5].
Namibia is known for wildlife areas beside desert, coast, and dry mountain country. A route can move from Etosha game drives to Skeleton Coast camps, then toward desert landmarks such as Deadvlei. Each addition changes the pace, travel time, and total price.
Travelstride lists 245 Namibia trips from 134 travel companies. Its reported rating is 4.7 from 606 reviews [6]. Those numbers show why comparing companies matters. A lower price may suit a camper, while a premium rate may include flights, guides, camps, and conservation fees.

A seven-day Namibia safari route falls into three practical groups: camping, lodge travel, and luxury fly-in travel. Camping starts near $300 per day in the listed Northern Namibia and Skeleton Coast option. Lodge trips start at $5,330 for selected 2027 departures, while premium plans reach $16,395 [1][3][4].
| Travel style | Example price | Route or stay | Included details |
|---|---|---|---|
| Camping safari | About $300 per day | Etosha and Skeleton Coast | Camping equipment and Etosha game drives [4] |
| Lodge safari | From $5,330 | Explore Namibia lodge departures | Selected 2027 departures [3] |
| Luxury fly-in | From $8,500 per person sharing | Skeleton Coast and Shipwreck Lodge | Internal charter flights, guided activities, conservation fees, and four to five nights at Shipwreck Lodge [5] |
| Premium lodge itinerary | From $16,395 | Eastern Etosha and Hoanib River Valley | Deluxe camps and lodges with a naturalist guide [1] |
| Self-drive option | ZAR 40,200 | Etosha National Park | Seven days with transfers included [7] |
The camping route fits travelers who want a lower daily price and accept basic camp living. TourRadar places the listed seven-day camping trip at about $300 per day. It includes camping equipment and Etosha game drives, so the route covers the main wildlife goal without a luxury camp rate [4].
The lodge route suits guests who want planned travel and fixed departures. Explore Worldwide lists 2027 departures on September 21, October 12, October 26, November 9, November 23, and December 21. The listed starting price is $5,330 [3]. Check the exact inclusions before paying a deposit.
The luxury route suits travelers who want fewer long drives. Beyond Africa lists a seven-day package from $8,500 per person sharing, with internal charter flights and guided activities [5]. Wilderness Travel lists a higher-end itinerary from $16,395, with eastern Etosha, Onduli Camp, and the Hoanib River Valley [1].
Seven days is efficient, but it limits the number of regions you can visit. Audley Travel lists an eight-day Namibia safari from $15,220 per person. It also lists an 11-day southern Namibia self-drive explorer from $3,840 per person [8]. These examples show how added days can support a slower self-drive plan.
For a desert-heavy trip, compare the route ideas in NamibRand walking safari prices for 2027. For a longer country plan, see the guide to Namibia safari costs for a 10-day trip. Both can help you decide whether seven days feels too short.
Compare Namibia tour operators by route, travel style, and 2027 budget before requesting a quote.
A practical Namibia safari itinerary uses one wildlife base and one extra region. Start with Etosha, then choose the Skeleton Coast, Hoanib River Valley, or a desert stop. Do not fill seven days with too many distant stops. A shorter route gives you more time for drives, camp check-ins, and wildlife viewing.
Etosha and the Skeleton Coast make the clearest northern combination. The route focuses on Etosha game drives first, then moves toward the coast and remote camps. The camping option listed by TourRadar includes equipment and Etosha game drives at about $300 per day [4].
Luxury guests can select a fly-in route. Beyond Africa lists four to five nights at Shipwreck Lodge within a seven-day package from $8,500 per person sharing [5]. That plan reduces road time through internal charter flights and adds guided activities.
Etosha and the Hoanib River Valley fit travelers seeking premium camps and guided wildlife travel. Wilderness Travel lists a route from $16,395, with eastern Etosha, Onduli Camp, and the Hoanib River Valley [1]. This itinerary costs more because it uses deluxe camps and remote travel.
The route works best when you value comfort and a specialist guide over a low daily rate. Ask for the exact flight plan, camp list, conservation fees, and transfer details before booking. Those items shape the final cost.
A self-drive plan keeps the focus on Etosha and gives you more control over daily timing. MoAfrika lists a seven-day Etosha National Park self-drive safari at ZAR 40,200, with transfers included [7]. Confirm the vehicle type, accommodation, fuel terms, park fees, and driving support.
Self-drive travel is best for confident drivers who want a simple wildlife route. It is less suitable for travelers who want a guide throughout the trip. A guided package may cost more, but it can remove route planning and daily driving tasks.
What to wear on safari in Namibia depends on the operator, camp, and planned activities. The supplied research does not give a verified clothing list. Ask your operator for current 2027 guidance before you travel, especially for camping, walking, charter flights, and desert stops.
Use a simple packing plan until the operator confirms details. Keep bags light for transfers, separate daily items from checked luggage, and ask whether the vehicle or aircraft has a baggage limit. Then match your clothing and footwear to the exact route.
Travelers adding the desert can use the Naukluft Mountains guide and the Solitaire destination page to compare route ideas. Travelers heading south can also review Fish River Canyon tour prices for 2027.
Book a 2027 Namibia safari by matching the route, inclusions, and travel style before comparing the headline price. Start with Etosha and select one extra region. Then check whether the package includes accommodation, transport, guides, flights, park costs, meals, and activities.
Explore Worldwide provides a useful date check for 2027 planning. Its listed departures include September 21, October 12, October 26, November 9, November 23, and December 21, each starting from $5,330 [3]. Availability and final terms should be confirmed before booking.
SafariFind connects travelers with verified tour operators and authentic reviews. You can compare a low-cost camping plan with a lodge or fly-in itinerary, then request a quote that matches your route. Read the available reviews before choosing between a fixed departure and a private trip.
For a focused Etosha comparison, read the seven-day Etosha safari cost guide. If you want coastal time, compare Namibia beach holiday packages for 2027. These pages help you separate wildlife days from beach or coast extensions.
Namibia is good for safari when you want Etosha game drives combined with desert or coastal travel. The 2027 options in the research include Etosha camping, lodge departures, luxury fly-in routes, and premium trips through the Hoanib River Valley [1][3][4]. Choose Namibia when landscape variety matters as much as wildlife time.
A seven-day trip is a good starting point for Etosha plus one second region. A longer trip is better for southern Namibia, self-drive travel, or several remote areas. Audley Travel lists both an eight-day safari and an 11-day southern self-drive option [8].
A 7-day Namibia safari costs about $300 per day for a camping option, $5,330 for selected lodge departures, $8,500 for one luxury fly-in package, and $16,395 for a premium lodge itinerary. The price depends on camps, flights, guides, transfers, and included conservation fees [1][3][4][5].

"Tongesai was recommended to me by a friend who also booked his amazing safari through Cultural Vibes; I am glad we took his recommendation. Our safari across Victoria Falls and Botswana was top notch. Tongesai booked us in all of the best camps and with the best safari outfitters. Our excursions were extremely well planned and full of excitement. The restaurants were fantastic as well. Personally, I love planning my own vacations but honestly don't think there is an easy and reliable way to plan an African safari without using a travel agent very familiar with the region. Located in Zimbabwe and with a travel and tourism background, Tongesai was able to coordinate our stays between 5 safari camps which included private charter flights across the regions. He also personally escorted us into Botswana and helped with border crossing which was very helpful as well. Compared to larger companies, Tongesai's package rates were more reasonable and came with a customized touch. I highly recommend Cultural Vibes to anyone looking to go on safari in Zimbabwe and its bordering countries (Botswana, Zambia & Namibia). Thanks, T!"

"We were amazing group of 4 adults from Atlanta USA. Upon arrival we found our guide Stuart Muronga already waiting for us. He picked us up in a well air-conditioned vehicle and offered us water at soft drinks. Before going to check in we drove around the beautiful city . After checking in he dropped us off at the famous Boma restaurant..we had an amazing experience there over delicious meals and drums and dance. He picked us up and dropped us off at our hotel. The next morning he picked us up for out safari experience in Chobe which is in Botswana just an hour drive from Vic Falls. We spent 6 hrs there then drove another 40 or so minutes to some island in Namibia. Stuart was so knowledgeable with great communication skills which made the whole experience so smooth and fun."

"I would like to note an excellent organisation of this tour. In advance Kubwa Five Safaris created whats app groupe for me so I had contacts of people who assisted me during my travel. I was picked up at the airport. My guide was waiting for me. The accommodations chosen for this trip were correct, clean with good service. The choice of restaurants corresponded the rate of this tour. We visited wonderfull places with beautiful landscapes, I enjoyed game drive and visit of Etosha parc. My driver was a professional guide, so I had explanations on historical events, culture, geology, flore and faune of the sites that we visited. Kubwa Five Safaris chose reliable partners in Namibia, that made my trip safe and I would like to thank them for that."

"Our trip around Namibia was booked through Kubwa Five Safaris, main contact was Sylvia (from their sister company Ompo Travel). Everything was organised perfectly, Sylvia listened to our needs and constantly adapted the trip according to our (many) changes of mind, to ensure we could get the best out of it, both in terms of things to do and accommodations where to stay; but she also added her local know-how to advise our decisions on what really worth seeing and what to skip (given the limited time of two weeks). She was also very responsive, both prior the trip as well as during the trip, taking immediate action if needed (only once, due to a misunderstanding on the check-out from a lodge). Namibia is an amazing place with plenty of wilderness and photo opportunities, and we have enjoyed it fully!"
