Matobo National Park packages in 2027 start at $1,683 for four days and reach about $6,100 for longer trips with more nights, transfers, and park visits. Matobo, also called Matopos, is in Zimbabwe near Bulawayo. Compare what each package includes before you book, especially transport, lodging, meals, guiding, activities, and park fees.
Matobo National Park packages in 2027 start at $1,683 for a four-day guided tour. That price makes Matobo one of Zimbabwe's easier safari choices to compare, but the headline number does not tell the whole story. Longer trips can reach $6,100 when they add nights, transfers, meals, guiding, activities, or other parks. [2]
Matobo National Park is also called Matopos. The park sits near Bulawayo in Zimbabwe, where tours often combine wildlife viewing with the area's distinctive hills and rock formations. The trip feels different from a classic open grassland safari. You spend more time reading the land, following a guide, and checking exactly what your package covers.
This 2027 booking guide keeps the numbers clear. It explains package prices, inclusions, extra fees, planning steps, and questions to ask before booking. It also points you toward related Zimbabwe trips, including the 10-day Zimbabwe safari cost breakdown and other SafariFind listings.
Quick answer: A Matobo National Park package costs $1,683 for the lowest listed four-day option in 2027. Longer packages reach $6,100 when they add nights, transfers, guiding, meals, activities, or other parks. International visitors should also check for the $15 entrance fee and $6 daily vehicle fee.
Matobo National Park packages in 2027 are guided trips that combine time in Matobo, accommodation, transport, and planned park activities. The lowest listed package costs $1,683 for four days. Longer options reach $6,100 because they include more nights, transfers, services, or visits to other parks. [2]
Matobo National Park is also known as Matopos. A package gives you a set route and a guide instead of asking you to arrange every part yourself. The listed inclusions can cover transport, lodging, meals, guiding, and park activities. Read the full inclusion list before comparing prices. [2]
Price alone can mislead you. A $1,683 package may look expensive beside a short local outing, yet it may include several nights and daily services. A $6,100 trip may cover a longer route with more transfers and more than one park. The useful comparison is the total service delivered per day.
Matobo Hills Lodge publishes 2027 rates and early booking offers for stays in the park area. Check its 2027 accommodation information when you compare lodging styles. A lodge-only stay and a fully guided safari package serve different needs, so place them in separate comparisons.
Booking a package can save planning time. It can also make the total cost easier to track when meals, transfers, and guiding appear in one quote. That matters in Matobo because the package price may not include the entrance and vehicle fees. Ask for a final total that shows those charges separately. [2]
Matobo suits travelers who want a focused Zimbabwe trip near Bulawayo. It also works well as one stop in a longer route. For a wider view of national park options, compare it with the 2027 Chizarira National Park packages before choosing your route.
Compare Matobo safari packages and 2027 prices on SafariFind to review available routes, inclusions, and operator details in one place.
Matobo National Park packages cost $1,683 for the lowest listed four-day option in 2027. Longer package examples reach $6,100. The main price drivers are trip length, lodging, transport, meals, guiding, activities, transfers, and visits to other parks. [2]
| Package type | Duration | Listed price | What changes the cost |
|---|---|---|---|
| Lowest listed Matobo package | Four days | $1,683 | Base guided trip with listed inclusions |
| Longer Matobo package | More than four days | Up to $6,100 | Extra nights, transfers, services, activities, or other parks |
The table shows why a single average price does not help much. The four-day entry point and the $6,100 upper example sit in different travel brackets. Compare the number of nights, the route, and the services included. Then check whether park and vehicle charges sit inside or outside the quoted total.
The international visitor entrance fee is listed at $15 per person. The vehicle fee is listed at $6 per day. These charges may not appear inside the package price, so include them in your trip budget before you compare quotes. [2]
For example, a four-day route can involve more than the package headline. You need to know whether the vehicle fee applies for each day, who pays it, and whether the operator has already added it. A clear quote should show the package cost and any park charges as separate lines.
Transport is often one of the largest parts of a guided route. Lodging can also change the total quickly when a trip adds nights. Meals, a guide, park activities, and transfers may all sit inside the package, but you should confirm each item in writing. [2]
SafariFind connects travelers with verified tour operators and authentic reviews. Use the marketplace to compare operator pages, read traveler feedback, and request a quote that matches your dates and budget. The month-by-month Zimbabwe safari guide can also help you plan the wider trip.
Request a quote from verified operators for your 2027 Matobo budget and compare the final price, not only the starting price.
Start by choosing the number of days, then ask for a detailed 2027 quote. Check the route, lodge, transport, meals, guiding, activities, park fees, and vehicle charges. A good booking decision comes from comparing matching inclusions, not from picking the cheapest headline price.
Route length is the first major check. A longer trip may include another park, extra transfers, and more nights. That can be useful if you want a broader Zimbabwe journey, but it can waste money if you only want Matobo. Ask where each night takes place.
Transport is the second check. Confirm whether airport or town transfers are included. Confirm whether the vehicle stays with you during the park visit. These details affect both comfort and the final cost.
Lodging is the third check. Ask for the lodge name and number of nights. Then check whether meals cover every day or only selected meals. A package with breakfast only may need a larger food budget than one with full meals.
Guiding and activities also deserve a clear answer. Ask which park activities form part of the quote. Do not assume that every activity shown in a brochure is included in the base price. The listed research confirms that guiding and park activities can form part of packages, but each itinerary still needs a line-by-line check. [2]
Plan early for 2027 if you have fixed travel dates. October 2026 is a useful time to compare routes and request availability for the following year. Early planning gives you time to compare operators and remove services you do not need.
Use a simple comparison sheet. Record price, days, nights, lodging, transfers, meals, guiding, activities, and park fees. This method keeps a four-day package separate from a longer multi-park route.
Matobo can also fit into a larger Zimbabwe plan. Travelers who want Victoria Falls, Hwange, or other stops can review the five-day Hwange safari guide and compare the travel time between parks.
Pack for guided outdoor travel. Bring walking shoes, light layers, sun protection, and space for water. Your operator can confirm the exact gear list, vehicle plan, and activity rules before departure.
Finally, read the cancellation terms. A low price loses its value if the booking terms do not suit your dates. Keep every payment record and the final itinerary in one place.
The best Matobo package is the one that matches your route, pace, and included services. A four-day trip suits travelers who want a focused visit. A package near $6,100 suits a longer route with extra nights, transfers, activities, or other parks. [2]
Best for a short visit: Choose the four-day option if you want the lowest listed package price and a focused Matobo experience. Start with the $1,683 figure, then confirm what the quote includes. [2]
Best for a wider route: Choose a longer package if you want extra nights or visits to other parks. The added services explain why some packages reach $6,100. [2]
Best for simple planning: Choose a package with transport, lodging, meals, guiding, and park activities listed clearly. Fewer separate bookings can make the trip easier to manage. [2]
These questions protect your budget. They also help you compare like with like. A package with more services can be better value than a cheaper package that leaves transfers and meals outside the quote.
Zimbabwe offers several ways to extend a Matobo trip. You can compare a stay near Mutirikwi Beach, review broader Zimbabwe tours from Harare, or consider an itinerary that adds Victoria Falls and Hwange. Each extra stop changes travel time and price.
Keep the route practical. A package can look attractive on paper but feel rushed if it adds too many transfers. Ask for a day-by-day plan before you pay. You should know where you sleep, what you do, and how you move between stops.
Matobo National Park packages cost $1,683 for the lowest listed four-day option in 2027. Longer packages reach $6,100 when they add nights, transfers, guiding, meals, activities, or visits to other parks. [2]

"Booking the safari at Miombo Safari Camp with Cultural Vibes Travel & Tours was easy and they answer all our questions thoroughly and in a timely fashion. We communicated through email, payment was easy too through email. There was no availability for the Hwange safari camp on the dates we requested but Mr. Tongesai managed to find us another safari camp, Miombo, which was a delightful place whilst honoring the rates offered at their website. Mr. Tongesai made sure we were picked up and driven to the camp, accompanying us on the 2-hour trip and later receiving us back at our hotel. Miombo's accommodations, the tent, was like camping with glamour. It was spacious with 2 comfortable single beds and charming decoration. The ensuite bathroom felt like we were in the woods but protected and with the comforts of a good hotel. The hot water in the shower was not working but Mr. Bernard, Miombo's host, made sure it was fixed by the time we came back from the afternoon game drive. The tent was right in front of a water hole, which depending on the season, would have received the visit of elephants. We didn't see any animals there but one night a leopard came to our camp. Unfortunately, we didn't see it as we slept safely under the watch of night guards. They also made sure we were escorted back and forth during the night between our tent and the common area. Mr. Bernard served delicious meals in the beautiful open common area viewing the forest and sometimes with a visit of monkeys. The dessert was always delicious! At night we had a bonfire to huddle to, and one of the nights we were treated with local barbecue and a dance. Everything was a delight. The game drivers are also a delight with their stories, knowledge and funny jokes, Nigel and Mr. B are amazing hosts, making sure everyone is comfortable and going out there to find the great animals and birds for us. The game drives in Hwange were amazing! We saw elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeasts, buffalos, impalas, koudos, warthogs, crocodiles, hippos, amazing birds! We missed the lions and leopards by minutes but it was okay. Makes us want to come back again. The sunset drive was also a delight with Nigel, including a stop for a snack. Our driver back to the hotel was also a great delight with his incredible stories and knowledge. I learned so much about the animals in these 3 days. The tour has lived up to our expectations and more! Mr. Tongesai also took care of our requests for a Sunset Cruise and an Elephant Ride as soon as we reached the hotel. Less than half an hour, Mr. Tongesai arranged us to be picked up to go to a Sunset Cruise on the evening we arrived from the safari. The cruise was a delight, the sunset on the Zambezi river was amazing and the service on board was great, great food and beverages, Zambezi beer of course! The Elephant Ride arranged by Mr. Tongesai was also an amazing adventure I will never ever forget. Riding my elephant Detema with the driver Tunzi was amazing, against the sunrise backdrop, amazing colours in the sky. The lady that accompanied us taking pictures, she did such a great jobs, I love my pictures on the elephant! The feeding and petting the elephants after the ride was another amazing experience! These elephants are such a delight, sucking fiercely the food in our hands! I simply loved it! Then they served us a delicious breakfast while watching our beautiful pictures on the elephant. I learned so much about elephants with my driver. Everything in this place, this tour, the people and the animals, is amazing, unbelievable, unforgettable! I love Vic Falls, Hwange, Zimbabwe! I hope to come back and I will definitely tell all my friends that they have to have this experience in their bucket list. And it is easy, just reach out to Mr. Tongesai and Cultural Vibes, they will take great good care of you! You will love them! We thank Mr. Tongesai and everyone at Cultural Vibes, Miombo Safari Camp, Sunset Cruise, Elephant Ride, who made us have the time of our life!"

"Cultural Vibes Travel and Tours has proved to be excellent yet again as this is now the third time, we have used them and a much-needed break after almost 3 years with the Covid pandemic. Tongesai is extremely reliable, professional, knowledgeable and does everything to make your trip a memorable experience. Compared to local larger companies, Tongesai’s individual package rates are more reasonable and come with a customized touch. We felt that our holiday with Tongesai was much better and suited us more so than if we had booked through a larger company. His individual tailoring, personal involvement and attention to detail pays off in the smooth running of your trip. Our visits to the Victoria Falls, both sides from Zimbabwe and Zambia were magnificent and never cease to amaze us. On this trip Tongesai arranged for a private sunset cruise on the Zambezi just for our family of four instead of on the larger vessels, which was a very pleasant alternative. The boat trip in Chobe is magical and a must if you venture into Botswana. Wildlife was in abundance, including lion, elephant, wildebeest, buffalo, puku, kudu, bushbuck, waterbuck, impala, gemsbok, steenbok, sable and roan antelope, etc. We even saw a relative of Cecil, the famous black-maned lion, ‘once a true king of Hwange National Park’. I have no hesitation in recommending the company for arranging tours in Zimbabwe, Zambia and Botswana - we will definitely be seeing him again. He is currently setting up arrangements with colleagues in Kruger National Park to venture into South Africa and I wish him every success with that."

"On 10.9. until 1.10. In 2023, I went on a trip to Botswana, Zimbabwe and a short visit to Zambia with my clients - friends. I carefully prepared the trip in cooperation with the manager of Cultural Vibes Travel & Tours, Mr. Tongesai Mutematsaka. After arriving in Gaborone we organized a short tour of the city ourselves and met Tongesai in Maun. Tongesai was our driver and guide practically the whole way. We visited the Okavango River Delta and its surroundings (Moremi Reserve, Mokoro boat cruise, flight over the Okavango Delta. This was followed by a visit to the Makgadikgadi Salt Flats, then the Elephant Sands area and in Botswana Chobe National Park with a cruise on the Chobe River. Then we crossed to Zimbabwe, which was the main part of our journey. In the Victoria Falls area, we visited the Monde settlement, took a helicopter flight over Victoria Falls, followed by a cruise on the Zambezi River as part of a visit to the national park of the same name. We also walked past Victoria Falls on the Zimbabwean side and had a Boma dinner in the evening (too much of a "tourist thing"). On the Zambian side of the falls we saw white rhinos in Mosi - oa - Tunya National Park, then visited the museum in Livingstone and walked the Zambian side of the falls. From Victoria Falls, we headed to Hwange National Park, where we had a beautiful program - a safari, and after Hwange, there was also a very interesting program in Matobo National Park (there, among other things, white rhinos (a mother with her little daughter), beautiful rock formations and prehistoric cave drawings. The next place visited was Khami with very interesting buildings, and then we visited the ruins of Great Zimbabwe, which are among the most important world monuments. This was followed by a visit to the Chinhoya Karst and finally the gallery in Harare. I would also like to comment on the provision of services: Accommodation in the hotels was at the standard, expected level, only the service at the Great Zimbabwe Hotel was rather lazy. Accommodation in lodges - very good and the best accommodation was in Iganyana tented camp in Hwange National Park, mainly due to the extraordinary professionalism and very friendly attitude of the staff there towards us, the visitors. I must also highly praise all the local guides we met everywhere, e.g. in Chobe, Hwange and Matobo National Parks. I want to emphasize that this journey is one of the most interesting that I have made around the world. I believe that my clients - friends were also satisfied with the set. Thanks to the travel agency Cultural Vibes Travel & Tours and Mr. Tongesai Mutematsaka. I recommend Cultural Vibes Travel & Tours to anyone considering a trip to Zimbabwe."
