Zimbabwe holds one of Africa’s largest remaining elephant populations, concentrated mainly in the north-west and south-east. Its 2026–2036 management plan prioritises population monitoring, habitat security, human–elephant conflict mitigation and community benefit-sharing [1].

Masvingo links Zimbabwe’s ancient stone city with wildlife routes that can cost from $900 to $27,495.
Masvingo Safari Packages 2027: Prices, Routes & Booking cover Great Zimbabwe visits, Big Five game drives, and longer Zimbabwe or Southern Africa circuits. Prices range from $900 to $27,495, while listed tours include a 12-day Zimbabwe route from €3,975 and a 10-day Botswana–Victoria Falls tour at $6,031. July to August has several listed 2027 departures.
Masvingo Safari Packages 2027: Prices, Routes & Booking combine Great Zimbabwe with guided wildlife travel in southern Zimbabwe. Masvingo is the main base for visiting the Great Zimbabwe monument and the nearby Mutirikwi area. Longer tours connect the city with Matobo National Park, Hwange National Park, Victoria Falls, Botswana, or South Africa.
Masvingo safari packages are sold in several travel styles. You can choose a history-focused stay, a private wildlife trip, or a set-date group tour. Listed prices range from $900 to $27,495, so the route, hotel level, transport, and group size matter greatly [1].
Quick answer: Masvingo safari packages in 2027 suit travelers who want history and wildlife in one trip. Budget listings start near $900, while longer guided routes cost several thousand dollars. A 12-day Zimbabwe itinerary travels about 1,141 km and starts at €3,975. Compare inclusions before paying a deposit.
This guide explains what each route includes. It also shows real 2027 departure dates and published prices. SafariFind connects travelers with verified tour operators, package details, and authentic traveler reviews. Therefore, use this page to narrow your route before requesting a quote.
Masvingo safari packages include a mix of heritage visits, wildlife viewing, transport, accommodation, and local guiding. The exact package depends on whether you stay around Masvingo or add national parks farther north and west. A clear itinerary should name each overnight stop, transfer, activity, and included meal.
Masvingo is best known for Great Zimbabwe, a major stone-built heritage site. Great Zimbabwe tours can focus on the ruins, local history, and nearby stays, while broader safari programs add game drives and national parks. SafariFind’s guide to Great Zimbabwe tours in 2027 helps explain the heritage-focused option [1].
Great Zimbabwe is the main reason many visitors start in Masvingo. The city also works as a southern Zimbabwe gateway. From there, travelers can continue toward Mutirikwi Beach, Chiredzi, or wider Zimbabwe routes.
Masvingo gives travelers two different experiences in one region. Great Zimbabwe supplies cultural context, while a wildlife extension adds game drives and conservation stories. Travelers interested in threatened species can also read about black rhino conservation in Zimbabwe before choosing a park-based itinerary.
Zimbabwe’s safari value is strongest when the itinerary matches your available time. A short stay reduces road transfers. A longer circuit reaches more parks but raises the cost. Ask operators to separate accommodation, park fees, guiding, transfers, and optional activities in the quote.
Compare Masvingo safari packages with verified operators and authentic reviews before choosing your route.
Masvingo safari packages cost between $900 and $27,495 in the published 2027 search range. The lowest prices suit focused or shorter programs. The highest prices reflect longer, private, luxury, or multi-country journeys. Always compare the number of days and included services, not only the headline price.
| Name | Price | Duration | Rating | Best For |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Zimbabwe multi-park itinerary | From €3,975 | 12 days | Not stated | First-time Zimbabwe travelers |
| Wild Botswana and Victoria Falls | $6,031 per person | 10 days | Not stated | Small groups and cross-border wildlife |
| Southern Africa Safari | $6,968 | 23 days | Not stated | Travelers seeking a long regional circuit |
| Masvingo Big Five packages | From about $900 range | Varies | Varies | Local guides and wildlife stays |
The 12-day Zimbabwe itinerary starts at €3,975 and covers about 1,141 km. Its route includes Harare, Nyanga National Park, Mtarazi Falls National Park, Masvingo, Matobo National Park, Hwange National Park, and Victoria Falls. The listing rates the itinerary for travelers aged eight and older [2].
The 10-day Wild Botswana and Victoria Falls route costs $6,031 per person after a reduction from $7,330. The route runs from Maun to Victoria Falls and lists a group size of six [7]. This option is not a Masvingo-only tour, but it can suit travelers adding Masvingo to a wider Zimbabwe plan.
The 2027 Southern Africa Safari costs $6,968 after a discount from $7,136. Listed departures run from November 21 to December 12, December 5 to 26, and December 19, 2027, to January 9, 2028 [8].
SafariFind can help you compare the cost of a Masvingo stay against a full Zimbabwe circuit. Request a quote from verified safari operators for your 2027 budget and ask for a complete list of inclusions.
The best Masvingo route depends on whether you want heritage, wildlife, or a full southern Africa journey. A focused route keeps transfers short and gives Great Zimbabwe more time. A national park circuit adds variety but requires more days, planning, and road travel.
This route is best for travelers with limited time. It centers on Great Zimbabwe and can add the nearby Mutirikwi area. The package should state the number of guided site visits, nights in Masvingo, transfer method, and any lake or outdoor activity.
Mutirikwi Beach adds a different setting beside the historic stop. Travelers who want more water-based leisure can review Mutirikwi Beach holidays for 2027 before adding nights. This option works well for couples, families, and travelers who do not want daily game drives.
This is the clearest full-Zimbabwe route in the research data. The 12-day itinerary covers about 1,141 km and includes Harare, Nyanga National Park, Mtarazi Falls National Park, Masvingo, Matobo National Park, Hwange National Park, and Victoria Falls [2]. It suits first-time visitors who want several major stops.
The itinerary also includes the Mutarazi Falls area through its Mtarazi Falls National Park stop. The route is listed for ages eight and above. Families should still confirm walking demands, room arrangements, and transfer times with the operator [2].
Masvingo and Chiredzi create a southern Zimbabwe combination. Chiredzi is useful for travelers who want to add a wildlife-focused extension after Great Zimbabwe. Compare this plan with the detailed guide to Chiredzi safari packages for 2027.
Chiredzi routes can change the balance of a trip. Masvingo supplies history. Chiredzi adds more time in a safari setting. Ask whether the quote includes private transfers, park entry, guide fees, and all meals.
The Zimbabwe–Botswana game trail has five listed 2027 departures. Dates are July 10–25, July 31–August 15, August 7–22, August 21–September 5, and August 28–September 12 [4]. Several listings show space for 11 or 12 travelers [4].
The August 7–22 departure is waitlist-only. The July 10–25, July 31–August 15, August 21–September 5, and August 28–September 12 departures are listed as available [4]. These dates give travelers a useful starting point when matching a Masvingo visit with Botswana.
The 10-day Wild Botswana and Victoria Falls tour runs from Maun to Victoria Falls. It lists a group size of six and a price of $6,031 per person after a discount [7]. This route is best for travelers who value a smaller group and want a cross-border wildlife journey.
Travelers starting in Masvingo need to confirm the extra connection. Masvingo is not the stated start point for this listing. Therefore, ask the operator to price the Masvingo transfer separately rather than assuming it is included.
Travelers who want walking experiences can also compare Hwange walking safari costs and permits before selecting a route. Walking activities need separate safety and permit checks.
Book a Masvingo safari by choosing the route first, checking the published date, and confirming every inclusion in writing. Start with your travel month and budget. Then compare private, small-group, and set-departure packages that include Masvingo or connect clearly with it.
Masvingo safari bookings need clear terms for deposits, cancellations, visas, transfers, and travel insurance. Ask whether the advertised price is per person or per vehicle. Also confirm the minimum age, room type, group size, and language of the guide.
Set-date tours require early action. The Zimbabwe–Botswana listing already marks one August 2027 departure as waitlist-only, while four other listed departures remain available [4]. Availability can change after publication, so request written confirmation before booking flights.

"Cultural Vibes Travel and Tours has proved to be excellent yet again as this is now the third time, we have used them and a much-needed break after almost 3 years with the Covid pandemic. Tongesai is extremely reliable, professional, knowledgeable and does everything to make your trip a memorable experience. Compared to local larger companies, Tongesai’s individual package rates are more reasonable and come with a customized touch. We felt that our holiday with Tongesai was much better and suited us more so than if we had booked through a larger company. His individual tailoring, personal involvement and attention to detail pays off in the smooth running of your trip. Our visits to the Victoria Falls, both sides from Zimbabwe and Zambia were magnificent and never cease to amaze us. On this trip Tongesai arranged for a private sunset cruise on the Zambezi just for our family of four instead of on the larger vessels, which was a very pleasant alternative. The boat trip in Chobe is magical and a must if you venture into Botswana. Wildlife was in abundance, including lion, elephant, wildebeest, buffalo, puku, kudu, bushbuck, waterbuck, impala, gemsbok, steenbok, sable and roan antelope, etc. We even saw a relative of Cecil, the famous black-maned lion, ‘once a true king of Hwange National Park’. I have no hesitation in recommending the company for arranging tours in Zimbabwe, Zambia and Botswana - we will definitely be seeing him again. He is currently setting up arrangements with colleagues in Kruger National Park to venture into South Africa and I wish him every success with that."

"On 10.9. until 1.10. In 2023, I went on a trip to Botswana, Zimbabwe and a short visit to Zambia with my clients - friends. I carefully prepared the trip in cooperation with the manager of Cultural Vibes Travel & Tours, Mr. Tongesai Mutematsaka. After arriving in Gaborone we organized a short tour of the city ourselves and met Tongesai in Maun. Tongesai was our driver and guide practically the whole way. We visited the Okavango River Delta and its surroundings (Moremi Reserve, Mokoro boat cruise, flight over the Okavango Delta. This was followed by a visit to the Makgadikgadi Salt Flats, then the Elephant Sands area and in Botswana Chobe National Park with a cruise on the Chobe River. Then we crossed to Zimbabwe, which was the main part of our journey. In the Victoria Falls area, we visited the Monde settlement, took a helicopter flight over Victoria Falls, followed by a cruise on the Zambezi River as part of a visit to the national park of the same name. We also walked past Victoria Falls on the Zimbabwean side and had a Boma dinner in the evening (too much of a "tourist thing"). On the Zambian side of the falls we saw white rhinos in Mosi - oa - Tunya National Park, then visited the museum in Livingstone and walked the Zambian side of the falls. From Victoria Falls, we headed to Hwange National Park, where we had a beautiful program - a safari, and after Hwange, there was also a very interesting program in Matobo National Park (there, among other things, white rhinos (a mother with her little daughter), beautiful rock formations and prehistoric cave drawings. The next place visited was Khami with very interesting buildings, and then we visited the ruins of Great Zimbabwe, which are among the most important world monuments. This was followed by a visit to the Chinhoya Karst and finally the gallery in Harare. I would also like to comment on the provision of services: Accommodation in the hotels was at the standard, expected level, only the service at the Great Zimbabwe Hotel was rather lazy. Accommodation in lodges - very good and the best accommodation was in Iganyana tented camp in Hwange National Park, mainly due to the extraordinary professionalism and very friendly attitude of the staff there towards us, the visitors. I must also highly praise all the local guides we met everywhere, e.g. in Chobe, Hwange and Matobo National Parks. I want to emphasize that this journey is one of the most interesting that I have made around the world. I believe that my clients - friends were also satisfied with the set. Thanks to the travel agency Cultural Vibes Travel & Tours and Mr. Tongesai Mutematsaka. I recommend Cultural Vibes Travel & Tours to anyone considering a trip to Zimbabwe."

"My travel companions and I chose the 4 day experience. Technically it is really a 3 day experience, because the last day they provide airport transportation. I feel they go above and beyond in making sure they are providing their customers with a safe, exciting and exceptional experience. Gari was our driver/guide in Zimbabwe, and was friendly, helpful, and courteous. Gari either made sure we were where we needed to be or provided his own guide trip to the Victoria Falls. He even provided the rain gear, which is most necessary. Gari and his "boss" Mr T. went above and beyond when Delta postponed our flight by a day, by helping to make sure that the connecting airline would change our reservation. They then made sure we got to the airport on time, a day later. They are always willing to provide any additional things that you would like to see and do. If you looking for a guided tour company, this is the one to use, and one that I would have no hesitation in using again."

"First, Tongesai Mtematsaka was excellent with communications and service. We couldn’t have asked for better. My questions via email were promptly answered. His English was excellent, and better. He was always on time in meeting us, coming and going. Our two hour trips from VIc Falls to the sable sands lodge, and then from the lodge to the Vic Falls airport were a highlight to our entire Africa trip. My wife and I will be discussing various aspects from the discussions with Tongesai for some time to come. By patiently answering my many questions he educated my wife and I about Zimbabwe and the region - culture, practices and assets of the people, typical family life, economy, weather, etc., and possibilities and trends into the future - all believable and detailed. The staff and facilities at the sable sands lodge were all excellent, beginning with Michelle’s clear instructions and cautions. She was a delight. We were asked if we wanted to take a charming hut as close as we could get to the marvelous watering hole there and got it. Incredibly we were greeted by a dust-cloud from a herd of maybe 100 Cape buffalo running to the water - unbelievable! The meals prepared by So and Derik were really good, throughout. MC, our drive guide was excellent and very accommodating to all the guests in the comfortable and safe-feeling, open 4x4. We met some nice co-guests. We saw so many animals on our safari that I will not attempt to recall here. I would just say that the many watering holes in the Hwange park were impressive, As an environmentalist myself I was very impressed with the solar powered system for exploiting the aquifers, and the foresight of the authorities in developing and maintains these. I know the history going back to the 1920’s, but if there wasn’t maintainence and upgrade the animals could not continue, especially with drought effects of climate change. Finally, I must comment on the fact that our first night in our hut was spent listening to the rumblings of the elephant just outside out hut. In the morning the tracks outside our hut showed how close our visitor was. We knew then that Michelle’s cautions were serious. But then more, the second night we had a lioness spend the night outside our hut, perhaps roaring a mating call. At first light MC came by with the truck and asked if we wanted to see the lion. I shot out with my camera. What an experience!! We hope our parting tip to the group of 16 people providing excellent service was meaningful. I will certainly recommend this trip to anyone who will hear me. What a privilege!!!"
