Tanzania remains one of Africa's most important strongholds for the Endangered African wild dog, particularly in the Selous–Nyerere and Ruaha–Katavi landscapes. Conservation priorities in 2026 include protecting large connected habitats, reducing snare and conflict risks, monitoring packs, and limiting disease transmission from domestic dogs [1][2][4].

How Much Is a Zambia Safari in 2026? A 7-day Zambia safari costs $2,000-$11,000 per person, depending on comfort, parks, transport, and guide services. Budget trips start near $150-$200 per person per day, while luxury safaris can exceed $500 daily. June to October is the strongest planning window for many wildlife trips. Compare verified operators on SafariFind before booking.
One 7-day Zambia safari can cost $2,000, while a high-end trip can reach $11,000 per person in 2026. [1] That wide gap reflects more than room type. It also reflects park choice, internal flights, group size, guide level, and the number of nights in remote camps.
How Much Is a Zambia Safari in 2026? The clearest answer is $2,000-$5,000 per person for a standard 7-8-day trip. Budget options use simpler camps and shared services. Luxury trips use private camps, premium guides, and costly transfers. [1]
Zambia is a strong choice for travelers who want quiet parks and active wildlife viewing. South Luangwa is known for walking safaris. Lower Zambezi is known for river scenery and canoe trips. Kafue is known for broad habitats and varied game viewing.
This guide explains the full 7-day price range. It also shows what real advertised packages cost, what the quoted price may include, and how to compare offers. SafariFind connects travelers with verified tour operators, package details, and authentic traveler reviews.

A 7-day Zambia safari price guide is a planning tool that compares trip costs by travel style. In 2026, the main bands are budget, mid-range, and luxury. A typical 7-8-day safari costs $2,000-$5,000 per person, while premium trips can pass $10,000. [1]
Zambia safari prices are usually quoted per person. The quote may cover accommodation, meals, park fees, and guided game drives. [1] However, you must check each package for flights, visas, transfers, drinks, travel insurance, and private activities.
| Name | Price | Duration | Rating | Best For |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Budget Zambia safari | $2,000-$3,000 | 7-8 days | Not supplied | Value-focused travelers |
| Standard Zambia safari | $3,000-$5,000 | 7-8 days | Not supplied | First-time safari guests |
| Kafue and Lower Zambezi itinerary | From $5,680 | 7 days | Not supplied | Multi-park travelers |
| Ultimate Wildlife Safari Zambia | $6,998 | 7 days | Not supplied | Luxury wildlife trips |
| Luxury Zambia safari | $10,000-$11,000+ | 7 days | Not supplied | Private and premium travel |
Park selection is one of the biggest cost drivers. A trip with one main park can reduce transfers. A route linking Kafue and Lower Zambezi may cost more because it adds distance and logistics. One advertised 7-day Kafue and Lower Zambezi itinerary starts at $5,680 per person. [3]
Camp style also changes the final rate. Budget camps often offer simple rooms and shared activities. Luxury camps may offer private rooms, fewer guests, and more personal service. Luxury Zambia safari packages can exceed $500 per person per day. [1]
Known for: Zambia is known for walking safaris, river-based activities, and lower-density wildlife areas. Best for: Zambia is best for travelers who value expert guiding and active days over large resort facilities.
Compare 7-day Zambia safari packages by price and duration to see which travel style fits your budget.
A 7-day Zambia safari costs about $2,000-$3,000 at the budget end, $3,000-$5,000 for a standard trip, and $5,000-$11,000 or more for luxury travel. These figures are per person in 2026. The final amount depends on camp quality, park fees, transfers, and included activities.
Budget Zambia safari options start at about $150-$200 per person per day. [1] A seven-day trip at that daily rate equals roughly $1,050-$1,400 before any extra services. The complete package can still reach $2,000 or more after accommodation, park fees, meals, and transport.
Budget travel works best when you accept shared game drives and simpler accommodation. You may also save by choosing one park instead of several. Ask whether the operator includes airport transfers and all game drives in the published price.
A standard 7-8-day Zambia safari falls within the $2,000-$5,000 range reported for 2026. [1] This level often suits first-time visitors. It can balance comfortable camps, trained guides, park access, and a manageable number of transfers.
The standard band is useful for comparing like with like. A cheap quote may exclude flights or park fees. A higher quote may include more meals, private transfers, or a better camp location. Always request a written list of inclusions.
Luxury Zambia safari prices rise quickly when the trip includes private camps, premium guides, and internal flights. One 7-day Ultimate Wildlife Safari Zambia package is listed at $6,998 per person, with a two-person minimum. [4] An intra-trip flight package adds $1,248 per person. [4]
Another advertised 7-day Kafue and Lower Zambezi itinerary starts at $5,680 per person. [3] These prices show why luxury quotes can exceed the standard range. They also show the value of checking transport costs before comparing packages.
A guided small-group Zambia safari of 8 days and 7 nights is listed at £2,199 per person. The same page presents Zambia holidays for 2026 and 2027. [5] This option shows how group departures can offer a lower rate than private travel.
| Name | Price | Duration | Rating | Best For |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Budget safari | $150-$200 daily | 7 days | Not supplied | Shared trips and simple camps |
| Small-group guided safari | £2,199 | 8 days, 7 nights | Not supplied | Lower-cost group travel |
| Kafue and Lower Zambezi | From $5,680 | 7 days | Not supplied | Two-park exploration |
| Ultimate Wildlife Safari | $6,998, plus $1,248 flight option | 7 days | Not supplied | Luxury travelers |
Request quotes from verified Zambia safari operators and compare what each price includes before you pay a deposit.
A Zambia safari package may include accommodation, meals, park fees, and guided game drives. [1] It may not include international flights, internal flights, visas, insurance, drinks, tips, or personal items. Ask for a full cost sheet before comparing two seven-day itineraries.
Most published safari prices focus on the core trip. That core usually includes a room or tent, meals, entry fees, and game drives. [1] Some packages also include road transfers, airport pickup, walking activities, or boat trips.
Internal flights can create a major difference. The Ultimate Wildlife itinerary lists an additional $1,248 per person for its intra-trip flight package. [4] A lower advertised price may therefore become much higher once air transfers are added.
Travel insurance is another separate cost. So are visas, vaccinations, tips, drinks, and laundry. The correct question is not only “How much is a Zambia safari?” Ask instead, “What does this exact Zambia safari price include?”
Accommodation also deserves close attention. A basic tented camp and a luxury lodge can sit in different price bands. Read the Zambia safari lodges 2026 guide to compare budget and luxury lodging by region.
Walking activities can affect the itinerary and price. South Luangwa is strongly linked with walking safari experiences. Lower Zambezi adds river settings and water-based activities. Kafue offers a larger route area and can require more complex transfers.
Wildlife goals should guide your choice. Read the Zambia safari animals by park and season guide before choosing a route. The best package is the one that matches your target species, activity level, and travel dates.
Getting there: Zambia safari guests usually plan an international arrival, then use road or intra-trip air transfers listed by the operator. Confirm every transfer in writing because flight costs can add $1,248 per person on a luxury itinerary. [4]
The best way to plan a 7-day Zambia safari is to set a total budget first, then choose parks and accommodation. Start with the $2,000-$5,000 standard planning range. Move above that range only when private camps, several parks, or internal flights add clear value.
Choose a target price per person. A $2,500 budget points toward simple camps and shared services. A $5,000 budget allows more comfort and a wider choice of routes. A $7,000-plus budget can support premium camps and more private arrangements.
Keep a separate reserve for costs outside the package. This reserve can cover insurance, personal spending, drinks, tips, and unexpected transfers. The operator should state whether park fees and meals are already included.
Choose one park if you want fewer transfers and stronger value. Choose two parks if variety matters more than price. A Kafue and Lower Zambezi itinerary starts at $5,680 for seven days. [3] That example gives you a useful benchmark for multi-park planning.
Walking safari travelers should focus on itineraries that clearly list guided walks. Photographers should ask about vehicle access, group size, and time in the field. Families should confirm age rules and transfer times before booking.
SafariFind helps you compare verified tour operators and authentic reviews in one marketplace. Use package pages to review duration, price, route, and inclusions. You can also request a quote when a listed itinerary does not match your exact dates.
June to October is a common planning window for African safari travel, with 7-day trips described as ideal during this period. [6] Your exact park and activity plan still matter. Ask the operator how weather, roads, water levels, and wildlife viewing affect your chosen dates.
Health planning also belongs on your checklist. Travelers should review current entry and health advice before departure. Swedish visitors can consult the guide to Zambia vaccinations and health rules for Swedish travelers. Visa needs also vary by nationality, so check the relevant Zambia visa guidance early.
Comparing Zambia safari prices protects your budget and helps you avoid missing inclusions. Two packages with the same seven-day length can differ by thousands of dollars. The gap may come from flights, camp type, private guiding, park combinations, or group size.
A $2,000 package is not automatically better value than a $5,000 package. The cheaper trip may use shared vehicles and one park. The higher price may include two parks, stronger camp locations, and more activities. Compare the full itinerary, not only the headline rate.
Verified reviews can reveal details that price tables cannot. Travelers often comment on guide skill, camp service, transfer timing, and how closely the delivered trip matched the brochure. SafariFind lets you read authentic reviews while comparing available safari packages.
Travelers who want a walking-focused route can also review the Zambia walking safari cost breakdown and operator guide. It is useful when activity choice matters as much as accommodation.
Finally, do not judge a package by room photos alone. Ask for a day-by-day plan. A clear plan shows drive times, activity times, meals, transfers, and free periods. That detail makes Zambia safari prices easier to compare in 2026.
A 7-day Zambia safari costs $2,000-$11,000 per person in 2026. A typical 7-8-day trip costs $2,000-$5,000, while luxury packages can exceed $10,000. The final price depends on camp level, parks, activities, group size, and transfers. [1]
Budget Zambia safari options start at about $150-$200 per person per day. [1] A complete seven-day package can cost more after accommodation, park fees, meals, and transfers are added. Check the inclusion list before treating a daily rate as the final price.
A Zambia safari package may include accommodation, meals, park fees, and guided game drives. [1] International flights, internal flights, visas, insurance, drinks, and tips may cost extra. Request a written breakdown before comparing packages.
A luxury Zambia safari costs more than $500 per person per day and can reach $11,000 or more for seven days. [1] One listed seven-day package costs $6,998 per person, and its intra-trip flight option adds $1,248 per person. [4]
Seven days is enough for a focused Zambia safari in one main region or a planned two-park route. A seven-day Kafue and Lower Zambezi itinerary is advertised from $5,680 per person. [3] Fewer parks usually mean less travel time and a simpler budget.
June to October is a common planning period for a 7-day African safari, including Zambia itineraries. [6] Ask your operator how your chosen park, walking activities, road conditions, and wildlife goals fit your travel month.
Use SafariFind to compare verified Zambia safari packages, review operator details, and read authentic traveler reviews. You can compare prices, check inclusions, and request a quote from a verified operator before booking.
A 7-day Zambia safari costs $2,000-$11,000 per person in 2026, with most standard trips between $2,000 and $5,000. [1] Budget travelers should target about $150-$200 per person per day. [1] Luxury travelers should plan for $5,000-$11,000 or more, especially when flights and private services apply.
Use the $5,680 Kafue and Lower Zambezi example as a useful multi-park benchmark. [3] Use the $6,998 Ultimate Wildlife example when comparing premium itineraries. [4] In both cases, check whether flights, park fees, meals, and transfers are included.
Your next step is simple: Compare verified Zambia safari packages on SafariFind, read authentic reviews, and request a quote from an operator that matches your dates. SafariFind makes it easier to compare tour operators and find a trip that fits your goals.
Zambia remains a strong 2026 choice for travelers who want expert guiding, walking activities, and quieter wildlife areas. Start comparing early, ask clear questions, and build your safari around value rather than price alone.

"On 10.9. until 1.10. In 2023, I went on a trip to Botswana, Zimbabwe and a short visit to Zambia with my clients - friends. I carefully prepared the trip in cooperation with the manager of Cultural Vibes Travel & Tours, Mr. Tongesai Mutematsaka. After arriving in Gaborone we organized a short tour of the city ourselves and met Tongesai in Maun. Tongesai was our driver and guide practically the whole way. We visited the Okavango River Delta and its surroundings (Moremi Reserve, Mokoro boat cruise, flight over the Okavango Delta. This was followed by a visit to the Makgadikgadi Salt Flats, then the Elephant Sands area and in Botswana Chobe National Park with a cruise on the Chobe River. Then we crossed to Zimbabwe, which was the main part of our journey. In the Victoria Falls area, we visited the Monde settlement, took a helicopter flight over Victoria Falls, followed by a cruise on the Zambezi River as part of a visit to the national park of the same name. We also walked past Victoria Falls on the Zimbabwean side and had a Boma dinner in the evening (too much of a "tourist thing"). On the Zambian side of the falls we saw white rhinos in Mosi - oa - Tunya National Park, then visited the museum in Livingstone and walked the Zambian side of the falls. From Victoria Falls, we headed to Hwange National Park, where we had a beautiful program - a safari, and after Hwange, there was also a very interesting program in Matobo National Park (there, among other things, white rhinos (a mother with her little daughter), beautiful rock formations and prehistoric cave drawings. The next place visited was Khami with very interesting buildings, and then we visited the ruins of Great Zimbabwe, which are among the most important world monuments. This was followed by a visit to the Chinhoya Karst and finally the gallery in Harare. I would also like to comment on the provision of services: Accommodation in the hotels was at the standard, expected level, only the service at the Great Zimbabwe Hotel was rather lazy. Accommodation in lodges - very good and the best accommodation was in Iganyana tented camp in Hwange National Park, mainly due to the extraordinary professionalism and very friendly attitude of the staff there towards us, the visitors. I must also highly praise all the local guides we met everywhere, e.g. in Chobe, Hwange and Matobo National Parks. I want to emphasize that this journey is one of the most interesting that I have made around the world. I believe that my clients - friends were also satisfied with the set. Thanks to the travel agency Cultural Vibes Travel & Tours and Mr. Tongesai Mutematsaka. I recommend Cultural Vibes Travel & Tours to anyone considering a trip to Zimbabwe."

"Tongesai was awesome from the start. I knew he was a good tour operator because he answered all of my questions in a timely manner and no question was ever stupid. Everything was just as he said once we arrived and really it was better. We prepared for about a year in advance for this trip and the tour operator was instrumental and making this trip a success. I highly recommend this tour operator to anyone who wants to visit Zimbabwe, Zambia, and Botswana. Give Tongesai a call or email, and you will 100% not be disappointed. I have a very deep understanding of border crossing and transportation challenges in many African countries at this point because of the efforts of the tour operator. This makes my wife and I have very comfortable to approach another visit or look at visiting a different African country."
