A 7-day Chobe, Savuti and Moremi camping tour costs $2,750 per person, giving travelers a clear starting point for planning Botswana in 2027 [2].
Gaborone tour packages in 2027 include city stays, multi-day safaris, and day trips across Botswana. Prices range from $2,500 to $5,500 per person for many multi-day packages. Hotel listings range from £18 to £40 per night, while November is listed as the cheapest month for Gaborone hotels at about $73 per night [6][7][8].
Gaborone tour packages 2027: Prices, Hotels and Day Trips cover city breaks, safari routes, hotels, and short trips from Botswana's capital. Gaborone works well as a first stop before a longer journey north. You can start with a city hotel, then travel toward game reserves, the Okavango Delta, Chobe National Park, or Victoria Falls.
Gaborone is the capital of Botswana and a useful base for travelers who want to mix urban time with wildlife travel. The city itself suits short stays. The wider country offers longer routes, remote camps, salt pans, and river areas.
Quick answer: A Gaborone tour package in 2027 costs about $2,500 to $5,500 per person for many multi-day safari trips. A 7-day Chobe, Savuti and Moremi camping tour is listed at $2,750 per person. Hotel prices can start near £18 per night, while November offers the lowest listed average hotel cost in Gaborone [2][6][7][8].
This guide separates the city stay from the safari cost. That matters because a cheap hotel does not mean a cheap wildlife trip. Park transfers, guides, camping, meals, flights, and lodge rooms can change the final bill.
Gaborone tour packages in 2027 are travel plans that combine accommodation in the capital with day trips or longer Botswana safaris. They range from simple hotel stays to routes lasting more than one week. The right choice depends on your budget, time, and interest in wildlife.
Gaborone packages generally fall into four useful groups. City packages focus on hotel nights and local sightseeing. Day trips take you beyond the capital for a single full-day experience. Multi-day safaris travel north to major reserves. Extended routes add Zimbabwe or Victoria Falls.
One listed Botswana itinerary spends two days in the Central Kalahari Game Reserve, two days in Moremi, two days in the Okavango Delta, and two days in Chobe National Park. The route then travels to Kasane on day nine [1]. This plan shows how quickly a Gaborone holiday can become a full Botswana circuit.
Multi-day safari packages often include a guide, vehicle, campsites or lodges, meals, and park travel. Ask the operator to list each item before you pay. A low headline price may exclude park fees, flights, drinks, transfers, or personal gear.
Known for: Gaborone packages are known for flexible combinations of city hotels, wildlife reserves, camping tours, and regional extensions. A listed 13-day itinerary combines Botswana, Hwange National Park, and Victoria Falls [2].
Best for: These packages suit travelers who want a planned route, first-time safari visitors, couples, families with enough time, and people who prefer one booking instead of several separate reservations.
Gaborone is useful because it gives you a simple place to begin or end a Botswana trip. You can spend one or two nights in town, check supplies, and then join a guided route. This setup also helps travelers avoid rushing straight into a remote camp after a long flight.
Compare Gaborone day trip routes and safari costs for 2027 before choosing between a short outing and a longer package.
Gaborone tour packages in 2027 cost about $2,500 to $5,500 per person for many multi-day safari plans. A listed 7-day camping tour costs $2,750 per person. Hotel nights can sit outside that package price, so compare the full trip cost rather than the safari headline alone [2][6][7].
| Name | Price | Duration | Rating | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Gaborone hotel stay | £18 to £40 per night | 1 to 3 nights | Varies by property | Budget city breaks [7] |
| Chobe, Savuti and Moremi camping tour | $2,750 per person | 7 days | Not stated | Travelers seeking a guided camping safari [2] |
| Central Kalahari, Moremi, Delta and Chobe route | Within the $2,500 to $5,500 package range | At least 9 days | Not stated | First-time Botswana circuit travelers [1][6] |
| Botswana, Hwange and Victoria Falls itinerary | Price varies by package | 13 days | Not stated | Travelers adding Zimbabwe and Victoria Falls [2] |
Camping tours usually cost less than luxury lodge routes, but the difference is not only about the bed. Camp style, vehicle type, private guiding, park fees, transfers, and trip length all affect the quote. A private trip also spreads fewer travelers across the vehicle cost.
Hotels in Gaborone show a wide range. Sample listings include £18, £22, £29, and £40 per night [7]. Another hotel data set lists Monday as the cheapest booking day, with an average rate of $73. Tuesday is listed at $144, almost twice as much [8].
November is listed as the cheapest month to visit Gaborone, with an average nightly cost of $73 and an expected 32% price decrease. June is listed as the most expensive month [8]. These figures are useful planning signals, but you should confirm the live rate before booking.
Compare Botswana safari package prices by season for 2027 to match your budget with the right travel month.
SafariFind connects travelers with verified tour operators. Use package details and authentic traveler reviews to check what each price includes. A clear quote is easier to compare than a low price with missing items.
The best Gaborone hotel depends on how long you stay and where your next trip begins. Choose a low-cost guesthouse for a short stop, a central hotel for city access, or a higher-priced property when comfort and on-site services matter. Then plan day trips around distance, wildlife goals, and available time.
Budget hotel listings include nightly rates of £18, £22, £29, and £40 [7]. These figures give you a rough comparison point for 2027 planning. Always check whether breakfast, taxes, airport transfers, and cancellation terms are included.
Gaborone hotel data lists November at an average of $73 per night. The same data identifies June as the most expensive month and Monday as the cheapest booking day [8]. If your dates are flexible, compare Monday arrivals with Tuesday arrivals before confirming your room.
Use a hotel close to your departure point when joining a northern safari. This choice reduces the risk of a rushed morning transfer. It also gives you time to collect cash, charge devices, and confirm the operator's meeting point.
Day trips from Gaborone can suit travelers who have only one free day. Ask for the travel time, return time, meals, entry fees, and minimum group size. A day trip should leave enough time for the activity itself, not only the road.
Makgadikgadi Pans National Park is linked with the Makgadikgadi Salt Pan, described as one of the world's largest salt pans [6]. It is a strong choice for travelers who want a landscape that differs from river and woodland safari areas.
Kanye offers a southern Botswana option, while Francistown gives travelers a route toward the country's northeast. Kazungula works well for travelers planning a wider Chobe and Victoria Falls route.
Other SafariFind destination pages include the Kalahari Desert, Tau Pan, Ghanzi, and Gcwihaba Caves. These places fit better into longer routes than rushed one-day plans.
Chobe National Park and the Okavango Delta may offer sightings of lions, crocodiles, cheetahs, hippos, elephants, and wild dogs [6]. Wildlife sightings are never guaranteed, but these parks give travelers a strong reason to extend beyond Gaborone.
Travelers who want a river and wildlife route can read the guide to Chobe National Park safari packages for 2027. Those who want more walking time can compare Moremi walking safari packages.
Start your Gaborone tour package by fixing your trip length, budget, and main wildlife goal. Then choose the hotel nights, transfer route, and safari style. A simple plan prevents you from paying for long transfers that leave little time for the places you wanted to see.
Choose a city-only stay, a short day trip, or a multi-park safari. A nine-day route can connect the Central Kalahari Game Reserve, Moremi, the Okavango Delta, and Chobe before reaching Kasane [1]. A 13-day plan can add Hwange National Park and Victoria Falls [2].
Camping suits travelers who want a lower-cost safari and a closer outdoor experience. Lodges suit travelers who want more room comfort and fewer camp tasks. Both options need a clear plan for meals, transfers, park fees, and guide services.
Read the guide to Botswana safari lodges for 2027 when a lodge stay matters more than the lowest price.
Ask whether the quoted price covers Gaborone accommodation. Some safari packages start after a transfer to another city. Others include airport pickup and the first hotel night. This difference can add a large cost for a solo traveler.
Check the cancellation rules, group size, guide language, vehicle type, and emergency plan. Request the daily route in writing. You should know where each night takes place before you pay a deposit.
Plan your hotel and safari nights together. A city hotel may be useful before a long route, while a final Gaborone night gives you a buffer before flying home.

"Tongesai was awesome from the start. I knew he was a good tour operator because he answered all of my questions in a timely manner and no question was ever stupid. Everything was just as he said once we arrived and really it was better. We prepared for about a year in advance for this trip and the tour operator was instrumental and making this trip a success. I highly recommend this tour operator to anyone who wants to visit Zimbabwe, Zambia, and Botswana. Give Tongesai a call or email, and you will 100% not be disappointed. I have a very deep understanding of border crossing and transportation challenges in many African countries at this point because of the efforts of the tour operator. This makes my wife and I have very comfortable to approach another visit or look at visiting a different African country."

"We went on a 3 day safari, and even though Tongesai did not lead it himself, I want to highly recommend his services. Our group consisted of just my family; my wife, children (9, 13, 14), and me. Tongesai acted as the agent, coordinating with the organization in Botswana that ran the actual tour. He met us several days in advance, and had informed us of some critical information (like make sure to bring birth certificates for the kids) well in advance. On the first day of the Safari, he came to pick us up, and drove us to the border, where he coordinated a smooth hand over to the Botswana organization. The guide from our safari was so good! ‘Cobra’ grew up in the bush, and if shows. He was frequently coordinating with, and showing other tour guides where to find the best big game sightings. We saw so many animals, including lions, hippos, tons of elephants and giraffes, and too many other animals to name. The meals were also great! Cobra and Tongesai had contracted with ‘chef K’ for catered breakfast, lunch and dinner at the camp. All meals were great. And the camp itself was organized above my expectations. Very nice tents, raised cots, plenty warm, tables, chairs and napkins at every meal! All in all, the experience was pretty unforgettable. It’s not a cheap experience, but based on our trip I can highly recommend Tongesai’s services!"
