A two-day safari from Cape Town can cost US$274.08 to US$938.51 per person, which is a wider spread than many first-time visitors expect. [5]
Cape Town safari tours in 2027 include short wildlife trips, Garden Route safaris, and fly-in options. Reported two-day prices range from US$274.08 to US$938.51 per person, with a TourRadar wildlife tour listed at US$355. [4][5] An August 2027 departure is also advertised with a US$495 deposit. [1]
Cape Town Safari Tours: 2-Day Packages and Costs for 2027 are designed for travellers who want wildlife without giving up a Cape Town stay. These trips connect the city with nearby or regional reserves. Some use road transfers. Others use a flight and a lodge stay.
A two-day safari is a short trip, so it needs careful planning. You may see open 4x4 drives, guided walks, wildlife viewing, or a reserve visit. The exact experience depends on the route and package. A Cape Town and Kruger plan can also last seven nights or longer. [3]
Price is the main decision point. Reported two-day tours range from US$274.08 to US$938.51 per person. [5] A South African Wildlife and Safari tour is listed from US$322, while TourRadar lists a similar two-day highlights tour at US$355. [4][7]
This guide explains what the prices mean, which routes suit different travellers, and what to check before paying. It also shows how SafariFind helps travellers compare verified tour operators, package details, and authentic reviews.
Quick answer: A two-day safari from Cape Town costs about US$274.08 to US$938.51 per person in current listings. The best fit is a short wildlife break with game drives and reserve visits. Confirm transport, meals, park fees, and 2027 dates before booking because each package includes different services.
Cape Town safari tours with two-day packages are short wildlife trips that begin in or near Cape Town and include at least one safari activity. These trips can use a private vehicle, a shared transfer, a domestic flight, or a lodge-based plan. The two-day format suits visitors who have only one free night.
Two days usually means one travel day and one main safari day. Some itineraries fit in several drives. Others spend more time on transfers. Read the daily schedule closely, because a low price may describe a longer road journey rather than two full days in a reserve.
South African Wildlife Safari Highlights Tour is listed as a two-day option from Cape Town. The tour includes wildlife-rich reserves such as Botlierskop and Buffelsdrift. Listed activities include open 4x4 game drives, ranger-led bush walks, and wildlife viewing. [4]
Garden Route safari tours offer a different style of short trip. A two-day scenic Garden Route safari is listed at US$876 to US$916 per person. [8] This price sits near the top of the reported two-day range, but the route combines scenery with wildlife and road travel.
A two-day trip reduces the time away from Cape Town. It works well for visitors who also want Table Mountain, the Cape Peninsula, or the Winelands. The trade-off is simple. You have less time to wait for rare sightings and less room for weather or travel delays.
Kruger National Park is a different planning choice. A Cape Town to Kruger trip can last two days with a short fly-in plan, seven nights for a combined package, or 11 to 13 days for a longer journey. [3] That means a two-day Cape Town safari should not be compared directly with a full Kruger holiday.
Known for: Short game drives, reserve visits, guided bush walks, and a quick break from the city. [4]
Best for: First-time safari visitors, couples with limited leave, families adding wildlife to a Cape Town holiday, and travellers who prefer a compact itinerary.
Why it matters: The right package protects your limited time. A two-day tour with a clear transfer plan can feel smooth. A vague schedule can leave too little time for wildlife viewing.

A two-day safari trip in South Africa costs US$274.08 to US$938.51 per person in reported Cape Town listings. [5] Specific examples include US$322 for a two-day wildlife and safari tour, US$355 for a TourRadar highlights tour, and US$876 to US$916 for a scenic Garden Route safari. [4][7][8]
| Package or listing | Duration | Price per person | Main focus |
|---|---|---|---|
| South African Wildlife Safari Highlights Tour | 2 days | US$355 | Botlierskop, Buffelsdrift, game drives, and wildlife viewing |
| South African Wildlife and Safari tour | 2 days | From US$322 | Wildlife and safari activities from Cape Town |
| Scenic Garden Route Safari | 2 days | US$876 to US$916 | Garden Route scenery and safari activities |
These examples show why the headline price needs context. A shared road tour may sit near the lower end. A scenic route or more private plan may cost more. Always check whether the price includes accommodation, meals, transfers, park fees, guide services, and game drives.
Transport is often the biggest price factor. A fly-in safari saves road time but adds flights and airport transfers. A road itinerary may cost less, yet it uses more of your two-day schedule. A private vehicle also changes the cost because fewer travellers share the guide and transport.
Accommodation affects the final bill too. A basic lodge and a private reserve lodge do not offer the same setting or service. For scale, a well-run private 10-day South African safari is estimated at about US$6,500 per person. Flagship Sabi Sand lodges are estimated from US$14,000 per person. [6] Those figures are not two-day prices, but they show how lodge level can reshape a safari budget.
Payment rules also matter for 2027. The World Tour advertises an August 2027 African safari with a US$495 deposit. Its final payment date is 15 May 2027. [1] Treat that as one operator's payment schedule, not a standard rule for every Cape Town tour.
SafariFind connects travellers with verified tour operators, package details, and authentic reviews. Compare 2027 safari prices and inclusions on SafariFind when you need to keep a short trip within a set budget.
Do not assume every listing includes these items. Ask for a written breakdown before you pay. The lowest headline price is useful only when the inclusions match your plans.
The best two-day safari route depends on your time, budget, and tolerance for road travel. Choose a lower-cost wildlife tour for a simple introduction. Choose the Garden Route for scenery and wildlife together. Choose a fly-in plan when time matters more than the lowest price.
A short wildlife reserve tour is the clearest choice for a first safari. The listed highlights tour visits Botlierskop and Buffelsdrift and includes open 4x4 drives and ranger-led walks. [4] This style gives you a focused wildlife experience without planning a long national park trip.
Reserve-based tours can suit families and couples who want a simple schedule. Ask how long the transfer takes each way. Also ask how many drives are included. A two-day label does not always mean two complete days inside the reserve.
The Garden Route is a strong option for travellers who want more than wildlife. The listed two-day scenic safari costs US$876 to US$916 per person. [8] The higher price reflects a route that combines road scenery with safari activities.
Garden Route trips suit travellers who enjoy changing views and a road-based plan. They may feel busy, however, if you want long game drives. Check the start and finish points before booking. A return to Cape Town may take a large part of the second day.
A fly-in safari suits visitors who value time. The Cape Town to Kruger route guide lists two-day fly-in safari options, while longer combined packages can last seven nights or more. [3] Flights reduce road time, but they may raise the total cost.
Ask whether the package includes airport transfers and luggage limits. Confirm the flight schedule before paying. A short trip has little spare time if a connection changes.
Kruger National Park is better for travellers who want more game-viewing time. A longer trip gives you more drives and a slower pace. It also needs more nights, more transfers, and a larger budget.
Review Kruger entry fees and safari costs for 2027 if you are considering a Cape Town add-on. You can also compare South Africa destinations such as South Africa safari regions on SafariFind before selecting a route.
| Your priority | Better match | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Lowest reported two-day price | Short wildlife tour | Listings begin near US$322 to US$355 |
| Scenery and wildlife | Garden Route safari | Listed at US$876 to US$916 per person |
| Less road travel | Fly-in safari | Two-day Cape Town to Kruger options are available |
| More game-viewing time | Longer Kruger itinerary | Combined packages can last seven nights or more |
Book a two-day Cape Town safari by checking the route, price, inclusions, and payment dates in that order. Then compare the operator's reviews and cancellation terms. A clear itinerary matters more than a low headline price when you have only 48 hours.
Write down your preferred start and finish point. Some tours leave from central Cape Town. Others may use an airport pickup or a meeting point. Confirm the return time before adding another activity to your holiday.
Use the transport plan to judge the real safari time. A long road transfer can reduce your time in the reserve. A flight can preserve time but increase the price. Both choices can work when the itinerary states them clearly.
Game drives are the main activity in the listed two-day tours. Some packages also include ranger-led bush walks and open 4x4 vehicles. [4] Ask how many drives you get and whether a guide stays with the group.
Wildlife sightings are never guaranteed. However, a good itinerary tells you where you travel, how long you stay, and what activities you receive. Those details help you compare packages fairly.
Bring closed-toe shoes and a windbreaker. The two-day wildlife and safari tour guidance also lists a towel and says open-toed shoes are not allowed. [7] Pack light if you will fly or use a small transfer vehicle.
October 2026 is a sensible time to review 2027 availability. Some operators may use deposits and staged payments. The World Tour lists a US$495 deposit for an August 2027 safari and a final payment date of 15 May 2027. [1]
Payment schedules differ by operator. Read the cancellation terms before you transfer money. Save the booking confirmation, payment receipt, pickup details, and emergency contact number in one place.
SafariFind lists verified tour operators and authentic reviews from previous travellers. Use those reviews to check guide quality, pickup reliability, communication, and whether the delivered trip matched the listing.
Ask each operator the same questions. What is included? How many drives are planned? Where do you sleep? Which fees are extra? Clear answers make the final choice much easier.
A two-day safari trip from Cape Town costs US$274.08 to US$938.51 per person in reported listings. [5] Examples include a US$322 wildlife and safari tour, a US$355 highlights tour, and a US$876 to US$916 Garden Route safari. [4][7][8]
A two-day Cape Town safari can include transfers, accommodation, game drives, wildlife viewing, and ranger-led bush walks. [4] Inclusions differ by operator, so confirm meals, reserve fees, vehicle type, and guide services before paying.
Yes, two-day Cape Town to Kruger fly-in safari options are available. [3] Longer combined Cape Town and Kruger itineraries can last seven nights or more, so a two-day plan is best for travellers with very limited time.
A two-day Garden Route safari suits travellers who want scenery and wildlife in one short trip. A listed scenic Garden Route safari costs US$876 to US$916 per person. [8] Check the transfer schedule because road travel takes part of the itinerary.
Pack closed-toe shoes, a windbreaker, and a towel for the listed South African wildlife and safari tour. [7] Add sun protection, medication, travel documents, and a small bag that fits your transport limits.
Compare verified operators on SafariFind, read authentic traveller reviews, and request a written quote. Confirm the route, inclusions, payment dates, and cancellation terms before booking your 2027 Cape Town safari.
A two-day Cape Town safari costs about US$274.08 to US$938.51 per person in current listings. [5] The US$355 wildlife highlights tour suits travellers seeking a lower-cost introduction, while the US$876 to US$916 Garden Route option suits visitors who want scenery with wildlife. [4][8]
Choose a fly-in plan when road time is your main concern. Choose a longer Kruger itinerary when you want more game drives and a slower pace. Cape Town and Kruger packages can last seven nights or more, so do not judge every safari by the two-day format. [3]

"We made our reservations with 50% down-payment way back in Feb-26, 4 months before our trip in June and balance 50% one month before departure from Singapore. We were not sure and worried a bit whether things would turn out as described and promised, as this is our first ever trip to South Africa. All our worries disappeared from the moment we were picked up upon arrival according to the itinerary, and subsequent daily trips were excellent in view of timing, routes, transports, accommodations, meals, and to the local guides and drivers assigned. Everything is above and beyond our expectations, and we sincerely thank Safari Tailors for providing us such a memorable trip of our life!"
"Communications with Mack via email were swift and comprehensible. We were picked up at the airport on arrival by our guide, Thomas, who would be with us for the whole week. We signed up for a budget camping safari, and we had a great time! The campsites were nicer than I thought they would be, and the Kiliholidays team did a great job of taking care of us the whole trip. Thomas was very accommodating, and our 'stomach engineer' did a fantastic job the whole trip. My partner and I were very impressed by the quality of the food. Thomas was an incredible driver; a few times we had to stop and help other drivers who were stuck! This was my second visit to East Africa, and I will definitely book with Kiliholidays for my third trip :) A few tips for other travelers: The sleeping mattress was a bit thin for me (my partner had no trouble!), but I found that sleeping on my back instead of my side helped. If you have sensitive hips, I'd recommend bringing something to use as a cushion, or possibly arranging for an extra mattress. The tent was high-quality and the sleeping bags were warm. We stayed in Mto wa Mbu a few nights and it was quite hot there. We brought sleeping sacks (very thin) and used those instead. Bring LOTS of insect repellent and use it often (biting flies in the daytime, mosquitoes at night). Same with hand sanitizer (public campsite toilets don't usually have soap). Granola bars are a good idea, too, if you like to snack between meals. There's not a lot of access to ice, so if you like an evening adult-beverage, just ask your guide to stop before you leave Arusha to pick up some wine. We picked up a 5-liter box of South African wine for about 25euros and it was very convenient (bring your own cups!)."
"This is the second time I have traveled with my family with GoExplore. The first time was an amazing Uganda experience (already reviewed) and this second experience with my husband to Kenya was equally amazing. Brian organized organized both tours for me and tailored them according to my wishes. As this is still the time of unsure flights and Covid difficulties, he was easily able to adapt to some changes with travel that were beyond our control. GoExplore is a boutique business that is very personalized and offers you the equal and more than a large corporate operator. The price point is compatible with group tours but you will have your own personal driver and guide for yourself and there is nothing to compare with this luxury. Because of that, you will also be able to adapt your days schedule if you wish according what you want and not what is a groups plan. We were completely happy and satisfied with all aspects of our travel (on both trips). Brian knows the safari tour industry and is constantly working to improve the business, his knowledge about lodges, the parks, restaurants and all minute aspects of the tour. He will be able to personally attest to the quality of whatever product he is recommending to you. Sammi was our driver in Kenya and we can only say that he was amazing. He knew more about wildlife (and every birds name and details) than an encyclopedia, was an amazingly adept driver in sometimes rough conditions (traffic, rough park roads, etc.) and looked out for our interests. While respecting the animals, he went above and beyond trying to make sure we saw every different animal we could. We appreciated that he obviously respected and cared about the animals we were seeing. (Not all safari drivers do and will do anything to try to get to see something up close, even while encroaching too much on their space.) We had a minor vehicle difficulty and Sammi made sure that everything went smoothly and we didn't miss a minute of our trip or schedule. He is quite an asset to GoExplore. Sammi only drives on Kenya trips but if you go to Uganda, I highly recommend Moses who was equally great. Overall, the trip was an unforgettable trip of a lifetime. If you haven't gone on a safari before, you should trip to put this on your life plan. There is nothing like it and when you plan it, you want a safari operator that will listen to your needs, wants, and budget and tailor it to fit you. GoExplore will do that in a personal way. Our lodges that Brian picked were magical and the food was outstanding. There was nothing about our trip that we would have changed. I highly recommend GoExplore if you want to travel to any of the countries they operate in. If not those countries, then reconsider them over the more commercialized ones (such as South Africa) and you won't be disappointed."
"We just finished a 2-week tour of South Africa with extension to Victoria Falls and the Monde Village Cultural Experience was one of the highlights of the entire trip. It is a must-do for anyone in the area. Tongesai (our guide) was very personable and worked with us to customize the experience. He was flexible and took time to explain many things that aren't part of the "regular tour". We had great conversations throughout the tour. He ended up dropping us off so late (8:30pm), his wife had to call him twice. He took a few pictures with us so he had alibi. :) Mr Ncube (our village host) and his family were welcoming and excited to show us their way of life. Mr Ncube's explanations of his culture, family structure, farming struggles, and discussions on many topics showed us a simple way of life, much different than our modern American ways, but it made so much sense. People here fight hard to live but they do it with a smile. They may be poor, but not in spirit. We asked many questions and received questions ourselves. It was as if I was visiting an uncle living in a rural part of a third-world country. This family made us felt at home. We wish we had more time to sit under the summer kitchen during a raining day, sharing food and chatting with these folks. We wish we could sit in the winter kitchen to hear him teach his children and grandchildren. Needless to say, we spent 4+ hrs at this experience and wanted more. I am now back to "civilization" in a nice Qatari hotel, but I kept thinking about my time in the simple Monde Village. What a breath of fresh air that was. I brought some extra clothes to give, but ended up giving as much as I could live without for the rest of my trip. A pair of sandals doesn't mean much to me, but it means a lot to people in these villages. This is 30+ hrs flight from home so it is a one-time chance to help; I had to make the best of it. If I can come back to this area, I will definitely bring more people to share in this amazing experience. I encourage all who come to Victoria Falls to add this cultural experience to their itinerary."
"Cultural Vibes Travel and Tours has proved to be excellent yet again as this is now the third time, we have used them and a much-needed break after almost 3 years with the Covid pandemic. Tongesai is extremely reliable, professional, knowledgeable and does everything to make your trip a memorable experience. Compared to local larger companies, Tongesai’s individual package rates are more reasonable and come with a customized touch. We felt that our holiday with Tongesai was much better and suited us more so than if we had booked through a larger company. His individual tailoring, personal involvement and attention to detail pays off in the smooth running of your trip. Our visits to the Victoria Falls, both sides from Zimbabwe and Zambia were magnificent and never cease to amaze us. On this trip Tongesai arranged for a private sunset cruise on the Zambezi just for our family of four instead of on the larger vessels, which was a very pleasant alternative. The boat trip in Chobe is magical and a must if you venture into Botswana. Wildlife was in abundance, including lion, elephant, wildebeest, buffalo, puku, kudu, bushbuck, waterbuck, impala, gemsbok, steenbok, sable and roan antelope, etc. We even saw a relative of Cecil, the famous black-maned lion, ‘once a true king of Hwange National Park’. I have no hesitation in recommending the company for arranging tours in Zimbabwe, Zambia and Botswana - we will definitely be seeing him again. He is currently setting up arrangements with colleagues in Kruger National Park to venture into South Africa and I wish him every success with that."
