Botswana safari packages 2027 cost about $4,200 per person for an 8-day mobile camping trip and $8,500 to $14,000 for a 7 to 8-day fly-in safari. Luxury trips cost €9,000 to €18,000 for longer circuits, while ultra-luxury fly-in trips can reach $32,000 or more. July to September is the peak dry season for wildlife viewing.
Botswana safari packages 2027: Prices by trip length are shaped by camp style, travel season, and the number of small aircraft flights. A short mobile camping trip can cost about $4,200 per person. A private fly-in journey with top camps can cost more than $20,000 per person.
Botswana is a strong choice for travelers who want quiet wildlife areas and smaller camps. The country includes the Okavango Delta, Chobe National Park, Moremi, and the Kalahari Desert. Each region gives you a different trip, so the number of nights matters as much as the daily rate.
This guide breaks down prices by trip length. It also explains what each budget can include, when to travel, and how to compare operators. Prices are planning figures for 2027. Ask each operator to confirm flights, park fees, transfers, meals, and seasonal terms before you pay.
Quick answer: A Botswana safari costs about $4,200 per person for eight days of mobile camping. A 7 to 8-day fly-in trip costs about $8,500 to $14,000. Seven-night ultra-luxury trips cost about $20,000 to $32,000 or more. Longer 10 to 14-night circuits cost €4,500 to €18,000 per person.
Botswana safari packages for 2027 range from about $4,200 per person for mobile camping to more than $32,000 for an ultra-luxury fly-in journey. The clearest price guide is trip length. Short trips reduce camp nights, while longer circuits add flights, park areas, and premium camps.
Botswana safari packages are known for remote camps that sit far from major roads. Many fly-in journeys use small bush planes between camps. One 2027 Botswana and Cape Town itinerary uses three small aircraft flights, with planes that usually carry 12 or fewer passengers. Its longest flight takes about 50 minutes. [7]
The Botswana safari catalog includes trips built around different regions and budgets. Some travelers focus on the Okavango Delta. Others add Chobe National Park, Moremi, or the Kalahari Desert. A longer route can reduce repeated transfers and give you more time for game drives.
| Trip length | Typical price per person | Trip style | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| 7 to 8 days | $4,200 to $14,000 | Mobile camping to premium fly-in | First safari or limited vacation time |
| 7 nights | $20,000 to $32,000 or more | Ultra-luxury fly-in | Private camps and high-end service |
| 10 days | $22,995 | Luxury guided safari | Travelers seeking a fixed departure |
| 10 to 14 nights | €4,500 to €18,000 | Mid-range to luxury circuit | Travelers combining several regions |
An eight-day mobile camping package is listed at about $4,200 per person. A 7 to 8-day fly-in journey is listed at about $8,500 to $14,000 per person. These figures show why a tented mobile route and a luxury island camp produce very different totals. [4]
Compare Botswana safari packages by trip length and budget before choosing your route, camp type, or travel dates.
A Botswana safari costs about $4,200 to $32,000 or more per person in 2027. An eight-day mobile camping trip sits near the lower end. A 7 to 8-day premium fly-in journey costs about $8,500 to $14,000. Seven-night ultra-luxury trips cost about $20,000 to $32,000 or more.
A 7 to 8-day Botswana safari costs about $4,200 to $14,000 per person. The lower figure applies to mobile camping. The higher range covers fly-in travel with mid-range or premium island camps. This duration works well for a first trip because it allows time for two or three areas.
Mid-range fly-in camps can lower road travel and place you close to wildlife areas. Premium camps add higher nightly rates and often use remote airstrips. Before you compare prices, check whether the package includes airport transfers, bush flights, meals, drinks, activities, and park fees.
A 10-day luxury Botswana safari can cost $22,995 per person on selected 2027 departures. Abercrombie & Kent lists its Ultimate Botswana Safari at that price for several August and September departures. [6]
A 10-day trip gives you more time for slow mornings, boat activities, and game drives. It also leaves room for a rest night between remote camps. However, a fixed-departure trip may follow a set schedule, while a private safari can offer more control over camp choice and daily timing.
A Botswana circuit lasting 10 to 14 nights costs about €4,500 to €9,000 per person for mid-range travel. Luxury circuits cost about €9,000 to €18,000 per person. July, August, and September are listed as peak dry-season months. November to April trips are listed as 20 to 35 percent cheaper. [3]
Longer trips work best when you want to combine the Okavango Delta with Chobe National Park or the Kalahari Desert. The route also matters. A circuit with three camps and several bush flights can cost more than a road-based plan with fewer transfers.
Compare 2027 Chobe safari prices and trip lengths when Chobe is one of your main stops. SafariFind connects travelers with verified tour operators, package details, and authentic traveler reviews.
The best value depends on your travel goal, but an 8-day mobile camping trip gives the lowest listed entry price. A 7 to 8-day fly-in safari gives better access to remote camps. A 10 to 14-night circuit gives the broadest wildlife route and more time in camp.
A 7 to 8-day trip is a practical first safari. You can visit the Okavango Delta and add another region without spending two weeks on the road. A fly-in route costs more, but it saves time between camps and can reach areas that are difficult to access by road.
The Okavango Delta is a natural fit for visitors who want water-based activities as well as game drives. Chobe National Park works well for travelers who want a larger wildlife area and river views. Read the detailed guide to Moremi Game Reserve packages for 2027 if Moremi is central to your plan.
Families should compare camp age rules, room layouts, transfer times, and activity limits. A shorter route can reduce long travel days. Some families prefer a private vehicle because it lets them set the pace and leave early when children need rest.
The Botswana family safari guide explains planning points for parents. A 2027 family departure from San Diego Zoo Wildlife Alliance runs June 13 to 22. It starts at $15,895 and is limited to 13 travelers. [1]
Luxury travelers should plan at least seven nights. Ultra-luxury fly-in itineraries with camps such as Mombo, Xigera, and &Beyond Nxabega are listed at about $20,000 to $32,000 or more per person. These trips suit travelers who value remote camps, private service, and short transfers. [4]
Abercrombie & Kent also lists a 13-day Southern Africa itinerary limited to 18 guests. The route includes Chobe National Park and the Okavango Delta. [8] A small group can offer more structure than a private trip, while still keeping the guest count low.
Mobile camping is the clearest lower-cost choice in the listed 2027 prices. The $4,200 eight-day example costs less than the fly-in options. However, ask what the rate includes. A lower headline price may exclude international flights, travel insurance, visas, or extra nights before and after the safari.
Request a 2027 Botswana safari quote within your budget and compare what each operator includes before deciding.
Book a Botswana safari for July to September if you want dry-season travel and peak wildlife viewing. Book November to April if you want greener scenery and the listed seasonal savings of 20 to 35 percent. Your preferred camp and flight route should guide your booking date.
July, August, and September are listed as the best months for dry-season wildlife viewing. Water in the Okavango Delta can remain a major part of the experience during this period. Demand also rises, so premium camps can fill well before departure.
A July to September trip often suits travelers who want clear planning and reliable access between camps. It also matches the dates of several luxury fixed departures. For example, the Ultimate Botswana Safari lists August 2027 departures at $22,995 per person. [6]
November to April is listed as a greener travel period with prices 20 to 35 percent lower than peak dry-season rates. Rain can affect roads and daily plans, so ask how the operator handles transfers. This period may suit travelers who want a lower price and fewer peak-season pressures.
Getting there often involves an international arrival in southern Africa, followed by a road transfer or a small bush flight. One 2027 itinerary uses three small aircraft flights. The aircraft typically seat 12 or fewer passengers, and the longest flight lasts about 50 minutes. [7]
Small aircraft make remote camps possible, but baggage rules can be strict. Ask for the luggage weight limit before you pack. The Botswana packing guide covers clothing, bags, and practical gear for safari days.
SafariFind helps you compare operators and read authentic reviews in one place. A clear quote makes it easier to compare a $4,200 mobile trip with a $14,000 fly-in route.

How long should a Botswana safari be?A Botswana safari should last 7 to 14 nights for most travelers. A 7 to 8-day trip covers key areas efficiently. A 10 to 14-night circuit gives more time for the Okavango Delta, Chobe National Park, Moremi, and the Kalahari Desert.

"Tongesai was awesome from the start. I knew he was a good tour operator because he answered all of my questions in a timely manner and no question was ever stupid. Everything was just as he said once we arrived and really it was better. We prepared for about a year in advance for this trip and the tour operator was instrumental and making this trip a success. I highly recommend this tour operator to anyone who wants to visit Zimbabwe, Zambia, and Botswana. Give Tongesai a call or email, and you will 100% not be disappointed. I have a very deep understanding of border crossing and transportation challenges in many African countries at this point because of the efforts of the tour operator. This makes my wife and I have very comfortable to approach another visit or look at visiting a different African country."

"We went on a 3 day safari, and even though Tongesai did not lead it himself, I want to highly recommend his services. Our group consisted of just my family; my wife, children (9, 13, 14), and me. Tongesai acted as the agent, coordinating with the organization in Botswana that ran the actual tour. He met us several days in advance, and had informed us of some critical information (like make sure to bring birth certificates for the kids) well in advance. On the first day of the Safari, he came to pick us up, and drove us to the border, where he coordinated a smooth hand over to the Botswana organization. The guide from our safari was so good! ‘Cobra’ grew up in the bush, and if shows. He was frequently coordinating with, and showing other tour guides where to find the best big game sightings. We saw so many animals, including lions, hippos, tons of elephants and giraffes, and too many other animals to name. The meals were also great! Cobra and Tongesai had contracted with ‘chef K’ for catered breakfast, lunch and dinner at the camp. All meals were great. And the camp itself was organized above my expectations. Very nice tents, raised cots, plenty warm, tables, chairs and napkins at every meal! All in all, the experience was pretty unforgettable. It’s not a cheap experience, but based on our trip I can highly recommend Tongesai’s services!"
