Emirati citizens travelling from the United Arab Emirates generally need a yellow fever certificate only if their itinerary includes a country or qualifying transit airport with yellow fever transmission risk. Routine vaccinations, typhoid advice, malaria planning and travel insurance should be discussed with a healthcare professional before departure.

Botswana safari cost in 2026 ranges from $1,650 to $5,000 per person for 7–10 days, while luxury trips can cost more than $5,000. The best value often comes from green-season travel, when camps offer lower rates. Compare verified Botswana safari packages on SafariFind to match your budget, dates, and travel style.
Botswana safari cost in 2026 starts at about $1,650 per person for a 7–10-day trip and rises beyond $5,000 for luxury travel. SafariFind lists this broad package range for current Botswana trips [1]. The final price depends on camp level, travel season, flight transfers, trip length, and whether the safari uses shared or private services.
Botswana is different from many East African safari markets. The country follows a high-value, low-volume tourism model. This approach limits visitor numbers in some areas and supports a more private bush experience [2]. Therefore, Botswana often costs more than a standard group safari in Kenya or Tanzania.
Botswana also offers a wide mix of landscapes. The Okavango Delta has waterways, islands, and floodplains. The Kalahari Desert covers much of southern Botswana. Chobe, Linyanti, and the Makgadikgadi Salt Pans add different habitats and safari styles [1][3].
Quick answer: A Botswana safari costs $1,650–$5,000 per person for 7–10 days in 2026. Green-season camps offer the lowest rates. Peak-season luxury camps cost much more because they include remote locations, small camps, guided activities, meals, drinks, and bush flights. Your ideal budget depends on comfort and flexibility.
This guide explains the main price bands. It also covers season choices, trip inclusions, transport, and ways to compare operators. Use the figures as planning ranges, then request a current quote before paying a deposit.

Botswana safari cost is usually higher than a budget safari in Kenya or Tanzania because many trips use small camps, remote air transfers, and all-inclusive pricing. In 2026, the main package range is $1,650–$5,000 per person for 7–10 days. Luxury itineraries can exceed $5,000 per person [1].
Botswana safari camps often bundle several major costs into one nightly rate. These costs can include accommodation, meals, selected drinks, game drives, walking trips, boat rides, mokoro excursions, and transfers between camps. The exact inclusions differ by operator and camp.
Cedarberg lists green-season rates of $600–$800 per person per night for moderate camps. Premier camps cost $825–$975. Luxury camps cost $1,000–$1,300, with top luxury options reaching $1,850 per person per night [4].
Shoulder-season rates rise to $725–$1,050 per night for moderate camps. Premier camps cost $1,075–$1,325. Luxury camps cost $1,350–$1,850, with top options reaching $2,500 per night [4]. These rates show why two Botswana trips with the same duration can have very different totals.
Botswana’s price often reflects location rather than just room quality. A remote camp may need aircraft transfers because roads are limited or slow. A smaller camp may also provide more personal guiding and fewer vehicles at sightings.
African Safari Magazine places Botswana luxury safari pricing at $800–$5,000+ per person per night. The listed package elements include camp accommodation, gourmet meals, premium drinks, twice-daily activities, and bush flights [3]. This is a luxury benchmark, not a required budget for every traveler.
Best for: Botswana is best for couples, families with flexible budgets, wildlife photographers, and travelers who value quiet camps. It is also a strong choice for visitors who want both land and water activities in one itinerary.
Compare verified Botswana safari packages by price and duration to see which inclusions fit your budget.
Botswana safari planning becomes easier when you separate the nightly camp rate from the full trip cost. International flights, visas, travel insurance, tips, and pre- or post-safari hotels may sit outside the advertised package price.

The price difference between Kenya and Botswana safaris comes from tourism models, camp access, group size, and transport. Botswana trips often use small, remote camps and charter flights. Kenya offers more shared road safaris and a wider range of budget accommodation. Therefore, Kenya can provide lower entry prices, while Botswana often sells a more private experience.
Botswana vs Tanzania safari planning depends on the experience you want. Botswana is known for the Okavango Delta, private concessions, mokoro trips, and lower vehicle density in some areas. Tanzania is known for the Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater, and large-scale migration viewing. Price comparisons must use the same trip length and comfort level.
| Name | Price | Duration | Rating | Best For |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Botswana standard package range | $1,650–$5,000 per person [1] | 7–10 days | Varies by package | Remote camps and land-and-water safaris |
| Botswana luxury safari | $800–$5,000+ per person per night [3] | Usually multi-night | Varies by camp | Private guiding and premium inclusions |
| Botswana family safari | From $2,426 [8] | 10 days | Displayed operator rating: 5/5 from 82 reviews [8] | Families and value-focused travelers |
| Botswana premium trip | From $7,295 [8] | 7 days | Varies by departure | Premium comfort and guided touring |
Peak season creates the largest price jump. Cedarberg lists peak-season rates of $850–$1,200 per night for moderate camps. Premier camps cost $1,250–$1,675. Luxury camps cost $1,700–$2,250, while top options reach $3,100 per night [4].
Green season can lower the nightly rate by hundreds of dollars. It may also bring changing landscapes and strong predator activity. However, travelers should confirm the exact dates, water levels, road conditions, and activities included in their selected area.
Intrepid lists a 10-day Botswana family safari from $2,426, reduced from $2,695. The displayed lowest price was available on July 31, 2026 [8]. This example sits near the lower part of the current 7–10-day planning range.
Intrepid also lists a 7-day Premium Botswana trip from $7,295. The displayed lowest price was available on February 20, 2027 [8]. This price shows how premium service can sit well above the standard Botswana safari cost range.
Compare Botswana tour operators and request quotes for your travel dates before choosing between a road-based and fly-in itinerary.

You can plan a Botswana safari on a lower budget by choosing green-season dates, shared departures, moderate camps, and fewer internal flights. Start with a total budget, then compare what each quote includes. A low headline price may exclude park fees, drinks, transfers, or charter flights.
Budget-conscious travelers should begin with the $1,650–$2,500 per-person range for a 7–10-day trip. This range is a planning guide based on current SafariFind and Intrepid listings, not a promise of availability [1][8]. Flexible dates can improve your choices.
Mid-range travelers can compare moderate and premier camps. Cedarberg’s green-season benchmarks run from $600–$975 per person per night across those levels [4]. A shorter itinerary may still cost more than expected if it includes several air transfers.
Luxury travelers should plan above $5,000 per person. High-end packages may include premium drinks, gourmet dining, private vehicles, twice-daily activities, and flights between remote camps [3]. Always ask whether the price is per night or for the full itinerary.
Maun is the main gateway for many Okavango Delta safaris. Travelers often use it as a starting point for delta camps, scenic flights, and onward transfers. Common answers to “what to do in Maun Botswana” include arranging a Delta excursion, visiting local cultural sites, and using the town as a safari base.
Kasane is located in northeastern Botswana near Chobe National Park. It also sits close to regional borders and can connect with Victoria Falls and nearby safari areas. Ask your operator whether your quote includes airport pickup, border transfers, and park entry fees.
Travelers asking “do you need yellow fever for Botswana” should check the current entry rules for their nationality and recent travel history. The same advice applies to “what vaccines do I need for Botswana?” and “what vaccines do you need for Botswana?” Requirements can depend on where you travel before Botswana.
SafariFind’s guide to Botswana vaccinations and health rules for Singapore citizens offers a country-specific planning reference. Consult a travel clinic before departure, since personal health needs vary.

Before booking a Botswana safari, compare at least three quotes with the same dates, duration, camp level, and inclusions. This method gives you a fair price comparison. It also shows whether a cheaper itinerary removes flights, activities, meals, or key wildlife areas.
A 7-day safari can focus on one region. A 10-day itinerary can combine the Okavango Delta with Chobe or Linyanti. Longer trips may add more transfers, but they also create more time for varied habitats and activities.
Botswana’s water-based experiences can affect the cost. A mokoro trip, motorboat excursion, or scenic flight may require a specific camp location and seasonal water conditions. Ask for a day-by-day plan before you compare totals.
Moderate camps may offer a simpler room and shared activities. Premier and luxury camps usually add stronger service, better furnishings, and more included drinks or transfers. The term “all-inclusive” still needs checking because operators define it differently.
Group size also affects the experience. Shared vehicles can reduce the per-person cost. Private vehicles provide more control over departure times, photography stops, and family needs. Ask whether your quote guarantees a private vehicle or only offers it as an upgrade.
Botswana’s safari income supports protected areas, local jobs, and wildlife programs. Travelers can learn more through SafariFind’s guide to conservation organisations protecting Botswana’s wildlife.
Wildlife protection also faces real challenges. Human-wildlife conflict affects communities living near wildlife areas. SafariFind explains these pressures in its guide to human–wildlife conflict in Botswana.
Responsible travel means following guide instructions, keeping distance from animals, and supporting operators with clear conservation policies. You can also learn about specialist issues, including pangolin conservation in Botswana and vulture protection.

A Botswana safari costs $1,650–$5,000 per person for 7–10 days in 2026. Luxury trips can exceed $5,000 per person. Camp level, season, internal flights, group size, and included activities create the main price differences [1].
The price difference comes from Botswana’s remote camps, small-group model, charter flights, and high-value tourism approach. Kenya offers more shared road safaris and budget lodging. Compare equal trip lengths and accommodation levels before deciding.
Botswana is best for Okavango Delta waterways, mokoro trips, and remote camps. Tanzania is best for Serengeti and Ngorongoro experiences. The better choice depends on your wildlife goals, travel dates, activity preferences, and budget.
Yellow fever requirements depend on your nationality, medical advice, and recent travel route. Travelers should check current entry guidance before departure, especially after visiting a yellow-fever-risk country. A travel clinic can confirm the right documents and vaccines for your trip.
Vaccine advice for Botswana depends on your health, itinerary, and previous travel. Ask a travel clinic for personal guidance well before departure. Also check whether your route creates extra entry requirements, including yellow fever documentation.
Kasane is located in northeastern Botswana near Chobe National Park. It is also close to regional travel routes linking Botswana with Victoria Falls and nearby countries. Operators can use Kasane as an arrival point for northern Botswana safaris.

A Botswana safari is worth the cost when you value remote camps, expert guiding, and varied wildlife habitats. In 2026, travelers should budget $1,650–$5,000 per person for 7–10 days. Luxury travelers should expect more than $5,000, especially during peak season or on fly-in itineraries [1][3].
Green-season travel offers the clearest path to lower rates. Cedarberg’s green-season benchmarks start at $600 per person per night for moderate camps [4]. A family-focused option listed by Intrepid starts at $2,426 for 10 days [8]. These examples help set a realistic starting point.
Start by choosing Maun or Kasane, then compare camp types, group sizes, flights, and included activities. Check entry and health rules for your nationality. Read reviews before you commit, and ask operators to explain every extra cost.

"On 10.9. until 1.10. In 2023, I went on a trip to Botswana, Zimbabwe and a short visit to Zambia with my clients - friends. I carefully prepared the trip in cooperation with the manager of Cultural Vibes Travel & Tours, Mr. Tongesai Mutematsaka. After arriving in Gaborone we organized a short tour of the city ourselves and met Tongesai in Maun. Tongesai was our driver and guide practically the whole way. We visited the Okavango River Delta and its surroundings (Moremi Reserve, Mokoro boat cruise, flight over the Okavango Delta. This was followed by a visit to the Makgadikgadi Salt Flats, then the Elephant Sands area and in Botswana Chobe National Park with a cruise on the Chobe River. Then we crossed to Zimbabwe, which was the main part of our journey. In the Victoria Falls area, we visited the Monde settlement, took a helicopter flight over Victoria Falls, followed by a cruise on the Zambezi River as part of a visit to the national park of the same name. We also walked past Victoria Falls on the Zimbabwean side and had a Boma dinner in the evening (too much of a "tourist thing"). On the Zambian side of the falls we saw white rhinos in Mosi - oa - Tunya National Park, then visited the museum in Livingstone and walked the Zambian side of the falls. From Victoria Falls, we headed to Hwange National Park, where we had a beautiful program - a safari, and after Hwange, there was also a very interesting program in Matobo National Park (there, among other things, white rhinos (a mother with her little daughter), beautiful rock formations and prehistoric cave drawings. The next place visited was Khami with very interesting buildings, and then we visited the ruins of Great Zimbabwe, which are among the most important world monuments. This was followed by a visit to the Chinhoya Karst and finally the gallery in Harare. I would also like to comment on the provision of services: Accommodation in the hotels was at the standard, expected level, only the service at the Great Zimbabwe Hotel was rather lazy. Accommodation in lodges - very good and the best accommodation was in Iganyana tented camp in Hwange National Park, mainly due to the extraordinary professionalism and very friendly attitude of the staff there towards us, the visitors. I must also highly praise all the local guides we met everywhere, e.g. in Chobe, Hwange and Matobo National Parks. I want to emphasize that this journey is one of the most interesting that I have made around the world. I believe that my clients - friends were also satisfied with the set. Thanks to the travel agency Cultural Vibes Travel & Tours and Mr. Tongesai Mutematsaka. I recommend Cultural Vibes Travel & Tours to anyone considering a trip to Zimbabwe."

On the drives I had good conversations with the tour operator as he taught me a lot about the culture and about all the different animals (which we saw a lot of). Overall I had a great experience and would definitely book again."

"Tongesai was awesome from the start. I knew he was a good tour operator because he answered all of my questions in a timely manner and no question was ever stupid. Everything was just as he said once we arrived and really it was better. We prepared for about a year in advance for this trip and the tour operator was instrumental and making this trip a success. I highly recommend this tour operator to anyone who wants to visit Zimbabwe, Zambia, and Botswana. Give Tongesai a call or email, and you will 100% not be disappointed. I have a very deep understanding of border crossing and transportation challenges in many African countries at this point because of the efforts of the tour operator. This makes my wife and I have very comfortable to approach another visit or look at visiting a different African country."
