Blyde River Canyon Tours 2027: Packages and Prices start at $995 for a six-day Kruger and Panorama Route trip. Longer South Africa and Zimbabwe tours reach $4,399 for 12 days. Listed 2027 departures include January, April, May, June, July, and August. Compare verified SafariFind packages before you book.
Blyde River Canyon Tours 2027: Packages and Prices give you several ways to see Mpumalanga's canyon country. You can join a six-day Kruger and Panorama Route trip, choose a longer small group tour, or build a wider South Africa holiday around the canyon. Current listed examples begin at $995 and reach $4,399 for a 12-day South Africa and Zimbabwe tour. [1][2]
The canyon works well as part of a wider route. A six-day itinerary can combine Johannesburg, Kruger National Park, Blyde River Canyon Nature Reserve, Bourke's Luck Potholes, and Soweto across 897 kilometres. [6] A 12-day itinerary can add Cape Town and Victoria Falls. [2] That difference matters when you compare price, travel time, and the number of places you will visit.
As of October 2026, listed 2027 departures include January, April, May, June, July, and August. Final prices depend on the trip length, transport, lodging, activities, and group size. SafariFind connects travelers with verified tour operators, so you can compare packages, read authentic reviews, and request quotes before making a decision.
Blyde River Canyon tours in 2027 are guided, small group, self-drive, or luxury trips that include the canyon and nearby South African attractions. The most direct packages pair Blyde River Canyon with the Panorama Route and Kruger National Park. Longer tours add Cape Town, Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe, or other stops. [1][2]
Blyde River Canyon routes are known for canyon viewpoints, Bourke's Luck Potholes, scenic road travel, and access to Kruger National Park. The six-day route listed by TourRadar includes Johannesburg, Kruger National Park, Blyde River Canyon Nature Reserve, Bourke's Luck Potholes, and Soweto. It has an age range starting at 10 and a moderate physical rating. [6]
Kruger National Park changes the trip from a scenic break into a safari holiday. You can use the canyon route before or after game drives, depending on the package plan. SafariFind also lists information for travelers comparing Kruger National Park safari options with other South Africa destinations.
Blyde River Canyon tours are best for travelers who want scenery and wildlife in one trip. They suit people who prefer a planned route over arranging each hotel and transfer alone. A moderate rating makes the six-day option suitable for many active travelers, while the age range of 10 and older gives families a clear starting point. [6]
The route also suits travelers with limited time. Six days can cover Johannesburg, a major safari park, the canyon reserve, a geological attraction, and Soweto. That is a busy plan, but it gives you several different experiences without booking separate trips.
Blyde River Canyon gives a South Africa safari a strong change of pace. Kruger focuses on game viewing, while the canyon route focuses on highland scenery, viewpoints, and road travel. This contrast is useful when you want more than repeated game drives.
The canyon also fits longer regional holidays. One 12-day small group tour combines Cape Town, Kruger, Blyde River Canyon, and Victoria Falls. It is rated 4.4 out of 5 and has more than 100 reviews. [2] That package costs $4,399, or $367 per day, based on its listed starting price. [2]

Blyde River Canyon tours cost between $995 and $4,399 in the listed 2027 examples. The $995 price covers a six-day Kruger and Panorama Route package. The $4,399 price covers a 12-day South Africa and Zimbabwe small group tour with Cape Town, Kruger, Blyde River Canyon, and Victoria Falls. [1][2]
| Tour example | Duration | Starting price | Main route or focus |
|---|---|---|---|
| Travel Chasers Kruger and Panorama Route | 6 days | $995 | Kruger National Park, Panorama Route, canyon viewpoints, and Bourke's Luck Potholes |
| South Africa and Zimbabwe small group tour | 12 days | $4,399 | Cape Town, Kruger, Blyde River Canyon, and Victoria Falls |
| Self-drive tour example | Not included in listed details | $1,588 | South Africa travel with Blyde River Canyon access |
The self-drive example lists a starting price of $1,588. [5] Self-drive costs need careful planning because the headline rate may not show every fuel, hotel, park, or activity cost. Read the package inclusions before comparing it with a guided tour.
Trip duration is the first major price factor. A six-day route has fewer hotel nights and transfers than a 12-day trip. Transport also matters. A guided minibus, private vehicle, self-drive rental, or luxury transfer creates a different total price.
Lodging changes the budget too. Basic hotels, safari lodges, and luxury properties can place similar routes in different price bands. Group size also affects the rate. A larger shared group can cost less per traveler, while a private departure gives you more control and space.
Activities can add another charge. A helicopter activity near Blyde River Canyon is listed with 15% VAT included, and the published price applies to the helicopter rather than each passenger. [3] Ask how the operator calculates the activity cost before you add it to your plan.
The cheapest package is not always the lowest total cost. A slightly higher rate may include more transfers or hotel nights. A lower headline price may leave you to pay for key activities yourself.
Compare 6-day Blyde River Canyon packages from $995 and request a quote from verified operators for your preferred travel month.
The listed 2027 departure months are January, April, May, June, July, and August. These dates give you a clear starting point for planning, but availability and prices depend on the selected operator, route, and group size. Book early when a specific month or small group matters to you.
January is one listed departure month for 2027. April, May, June, July, and August are also listed. [1] These months are the available planning signals in the current tour data. They do not mean every operator runs the same route each month.
Start by choosing your trip length. A six-day plan suits a focused Kruger and Panorama Route holiday. A 12-day plan suits travelers who want to add Cape Town and Victoria Falls. Then compare departure dates that match your available time.
Getting there depends on the package. The six-day route begins in Johannesburg and includes Kruger National Park, Blyde River Canyon Nature Reserve, Bourke's Luck Potholes, and Soweto. [6] The listed distance is 897 kilometres, so this is a road trip rather than a short canyon stop.
Some tours include wider regional travel. The 12-day South Africa and Zimbabwe option includes Cape Town, Kruger, Blyde River Canyon, and Victoria Falls. [2] Another South Africa itinerary crosses into Eswatini and includes a stop at a roadside market before continuing to the Ezulwini Valley. [4]
Travelers who want to extend the trip can compare a seven-day Kruger safari itinerary with a canyon route. You can also review Kruger entry fees and safari costs before requesting a full quote.
Do not treat the canyon as a quick photo stop unless your itinerary says so. Viewpoints, road time, and added activities need space in the daily plan. A good operator will explain the order of stops before you pay.
Choose a Blyde River Canyon package by matching the route, duration, activity level, and travel style to your needs. A six-day package suits a focused safari and canyon trip. A 12-day package suits travelers who want Cape Town and Victoria Falls too. The right choice is the route you can enjoy without rushing.
The six-day example is a practical choice for travelers who want the canyon and Kruger in one holiday. It includes Johannesburg, Kruger National Park, Blyde River Canyon Nature Reserve, Bourke's Luck Potholes, and Soweto. The starting price is $995. [1][6]
This route has a moderate physical rating and accepts travelers aged 10 and older. [6] Families should still check the daily driving plan. A moderate rating does not describe how long every travel day feels, so ask for the full schedule.
The 12-day South Africa and Zimbabwe tour includes Cape Town, Kruger, Blyde River Canyon, and Victoria Falls. It is a small group tour with a 4.4 out of 5 rating and more than 100 reviews. The listed starting price is $4,399. [2]
This option works well when the canyon is one part of a bigger holiday. It costs more than the six-day example because it covers twice the trip length and more destinations. You also spend more time moving between regions, so check the balance between travel days and sightseeing.
Self-drive tours give you control over stops and daily timing. A listed South Africa example starts at $1,588. [5] This style suits confident drivers who want to manage their own route, but it also requires more work before departure.
Check the road plan, lodging locations, fuel needs, and activity reservations. Guided tours reduce those tasks. Self-drive packages can still be a strong option when you want flexibility and understand the added planning.
Reviews help you judge communication, timing, vehicles, and guide service. SafariFind connects travelers with verified tour operators and authentic traveler reviews. Use those details beside the price, not after it.
Compare South Africa options in the wider South Africa safari catalog. You can also compare a canyon trip with South Africa safari lodge rates if comfort matters as much as route length.
Blyde River Canyon tours cost $995 for a listed six-day Kruger and Panorama Route package. A longer 12-day South Africa and Zimbabwe tour starts at $4,399. Final costs depend on transport, lodging, activities, trip length, and group size. [1][2]
You need six days for the listed route that combines Johannesburg, Kruger National Park, Blyde River Canyon Nature Reserve, Bourke's Luck Potholes, and Soweto. Longer 12-day tours add destinations such as Cape Town and Victoria Falls. [2][6]
A Blyde River Canyon tour can include the canyon, Panorama Route, viewpoints, Bourke's Luck Potholes, Kruger National Park, transport, and lodging. Inclusions differ by package, so check meals, park fees, transfers, and activities before booking.
The listed 2027 departure months are January, April, May, June, July, and August. The best month for you depends on operator availability, route length, and your wider South Africa travel plan. Confirm the exact departure before paying.

"We made our reservations with 50% down-payment way back in Feb-26, 4 months before our trip in June and balance 50% one month before departure from Singapore. We were not sure and worried a bit whether things would turn out as described and promised, as this is our first ever trip to South Africa. All our worries disappeared from the moment we were picked up upon arrival according to the itinerary, and subsequent daily trips were excellent in view of timing, routes, transports, accommodations, meals, and to the local guides and drivers assigned. Everything is above and beyond our expectations, and we sincerely thank Safari Tailors for providing us such a memorable trip of our life!"
"Communications with Mack via email were swift and comprehensible. We were picked up at the airport on arrival by our guide, Thomas, who would be with us for the whole week. We signed up for a budget camping safari, and we had a great time! The campsites were nicer than I thought they would be, and the Kiliholidays team did a great job of taking care of us the whole trip. Thomas was very accommodating, and our 'stomach engineer' did a fantastic job the whole trip. My partner and I were very impressed by the quality of the food. Thomas was an incredible driver; a few times we had to stop and help other drivers who were stuck! This was my second visit to East Africa, and I will definitely book with Kiliholidays for my third trip :) A few tips for other travelers: The sleeping mattress was a bit thin for me (my partner had no trouble!), but I found that sleeping on my back instead of my side helped. If you have sensitive hips, I'd recommend bringing something to use as a cushion, or possibly arranging for an extra mattress. The tent was high-quality and the sleeping bags were warm. We stayed in Mto wa Mbu a few nights and it was quite hot there. We brought sleeping sacks (very thin) and used those instead. Bring LOTS of insect repellent and use it often (biting flies in the daytime, mosquitoes at night). Same with hand sanitizer (public campsite toilets don't usually have soap). Granola bars are a good idea, too, if you like to snack between meals. There's not a lot of access to ice, so if you like an evening adult-beverage, just ask your guide to stop before you leave Arusha to pick up some wine. We picked up a 5-liter box of South African wine for about 25euros and it was very convenient (bring your own cups!)."
"This is the second time I have traveled with my family with GoExplore. The first time was an amazing Uganda experience (already reviewed) and this second experience with my husband to Kenya was equally amazing. Brian organized organized both tours for me and tailored them according to my wishes. As this is still the time of unsure flights and Covid difficulties, he was easily able to adapt to some changes with travel that were beyond our control. GoExplore is a boutique business that is very personalized and offers you the equal and more than a large corporate operator. The price point is compatible with group tours but you will have your own personal driver and guide for yourself and there is nothing to compare with this luxury. Because of that, you will also be able to adapt your days schedule if you wish according what you want and not what is a groups plan. We were completely happy and satisfied with all aspects of our travel (on both trips). Brian knows the safari tour industry and is constantly working to improve the business, his knowledge about lodges, the parks, restaurants and all minute aspects of the tour. He will be able to personally attest to the quality of whatever product he is recommending to you. Sammi was our driver in Kenya and we can only say that he was amazing. He knew more about wildlife (and every birds name and details) than an encyclopedia, was an amazingly adept driver in sometimes rough conditions (traffic, rough park roads, etc.) and looked out for our interests. While respecting the animals, he went above and beyond trying to make sure we saw every different animal we could. We appreciated that he obviously respected and cared about the animals we were seeing. (Not all safari drivers do and will do anything to try to get to see something up close, even while encroaching too much on their space.) We had a minor vehicle difficulty and Sammi made sure that everything went smoothly and we didn't miss a minute of our trip or schedule. He is quite an asset to GoExplore. Sammi only drives on Kenya trips but if you go to Uganda, I highly recommend Moses who was equally great. Overall, the trip was an unforgettable trip of a lifetime. If you haven't gone on a safari before, you should trip to put this on your life plan. There is nothing like it and when you plan it, you want a safari operator that will listen to your needs, wants, and budget and tailor it to fit you. GoExplore will do that in a personal way. Our lodges that Brian picked were magical and the food was outstanding. There was nothing about our trip that we would have changed. I highly recommend GoExplore if you want to travel to any of the countries they operate in. If not those countries, then reconsider them over the more commercialized ones (such as South Africa) and you won't be disappointed."
"We just finished a 2-week tour of South Africa with extension to Victoria Falls and the Monde Village Cultural Experience was one of the highlights of the entire trip. It is a must-do for anyone in the area. Tongesai (our guide) was very personable and worked with us to customize the experience. He was flexible and took time to explain many things that aren't part of the "regular tour". We had great conversations throughout the tour. He ended up dropping us off so late (8:30pm), his wife had to call him twice. He took a few pictures with us so he had alibi. :) Mr Ncube (our village host) and his family were welcoming and excited to show us their way of life. Mr Ncube's explanations of his culture, family structure, farming struggles, and discussions on many topics showed us a simple way of life, much different than our modern American ways, but it made so much sense. People here fight hard to live but they do it with a smile. They may be poor, but not in spirit. We asked many questions and received questions ourselves. It was as if I was visiting an uncle living in a rural part of a third-world country. This family made us felt at home. We wish we had more time to sit under the summer kitchen during a raining day, sharing food and chatting with these folks. We wish we could sit in the winter kitchen to hear him teach his children and grandchildren. Needless to say, we spent 4+ hrs at this experience and wanted more. I am now back to "civilization" in a nice Qatari hotel, but I kept thinking about my time in the simple Monde Village. What a breath of fresh air that was. I brought some extra clothes to give, but ended up giving as much as I could live without for the rest of my trip. A pair of sandals doesn't mean much to me, but it means a lot to people in these villages. This is 30+ hrs flight from home so it is a one-time chance to help; I had to make the best of it. If I can come back to this area, I will definitely bring more people to share in this amazing experience. I encourage all who come to Victoria Falls to add this cultural experience to their itinerary."
