Introduction: what should you expect from a 2027 visit?
Blue Nile Falls Tour Packages 2027: Prices and Booking are now relevant for travellers planning ahead. Operators already list 2027 Ethiopia departures as of September 2026. [6] That gives you time to compare routes, check what the price includes, and choose between a short Bahir Dar trip and a wider Ethiopia holiday.
Blue Nile Falls is known for Tississat, the local name often used for the waterfall. The falls are described as about 45 metres high. [6] Your visit usually includes a drive from Bahir Dar, a short walk, and time near the water. Some itineraries also include Lake Tana and an overnight stay in Bahir Dar. [8]
SafariFind connects travellers with verified tour operators and package information. You can compare the trip length, price, and route before asking for a quote. Read authentic reviews when available, then choose a plan that fits your time rather than paying for sights you will not see.
Quick answer: The lowest listed 2027 price is $150 per person for a Blue Nile Falls day trip from Bahir Dar. The route covers about 70 kilometres round trip, followed by a walk of about 30 minutes. Longer Ethiopia tours cost about £4,000 to over £5,000 before flights.
What are Blue Nile Falls tour packages in 2027?
Blue Nile Falls tour packages in 2027 are guided trips to Tississat from Bahir Dar, with longer holidays adding Lake Tana and other Ethiopian destinations. The basic package is a day excursion. The wider option uses the falls as one stop on a multi-day Ethiopia route. This choice shapes both your cost and your travel pace.
Overview of the standard route
Bahir Dar is the usual starting point for a Blue Nile Falls visit. A listed itinerary describes a round-trip drive of about 70 kilometres from Bahir Dar to Tississat. [8] After reaching the access point, travellers walk for about 30 minutes to reach the falls area. [8]
Tississat is another name for Blue Nile Falls. You may see both names in tour listings, maps, and travel plans. [1][8] Using both names when you search helps you find the right route and avoid confusing the waterfall with Nile cruises in Egypt.
Key features of the trip
A Blue Nile Falls day tour usually focuses on transport, a guided visit, and return travel to Bahir Dar. A suggested plan combines the waterfall with Lake Tana and an overnight stay in Bahir Dar. [8] That format works well if you want a clear route without changing hotels every night.
Known for: Tississat, a waterfall described as about 45 metres high. [6]

Walking time: About 30 minutes from the access point to the falls. [8]
Good pairing: Lake Tana and an overnight stay in Bahir Dar. [8]
Best for: First-time visitors who want one natural sight in a short Ethiopia itinerary.
Why this trip matters to your wider holiday
The waterfall can anchor a short northern Ethiopia plan. You can spend one night in Bahir Dar, visit the falls, and then continue to other places listed in the SafariFind Ethiopia catalogue. Travellers building a longer route may also compare Lalibela, Gonder, or Fasil Ghebbi.
TravelStride lists a 9-day Ethiopia Hidden Treasure and Meskel Festival group itinerary for 2026 and 2027, with prices from $2,299. [4] That price is much higher than a day trip because it covers a wider holiday route. It shows why you should compare the exact itinerary before judging one package against another.
Blue Nile Falls tour packages in 2027 start at $150 per person for a day trip from Bahir Dar. Longer Ethiopia holidays cost about £4,000 to more than £5,000, and one listed 18-day tour costs £5,495 before flights. [2][6] The main price difference comes from duration and the number of included destinations.

The $150 day-trip price is the clearest starting point for a short visit. SafariFind lists that rate for 2027 Blue Nile Falls day trips from Bahir Dar. [2] A longer tour has a different purpose, so compare nights, transport, meals, guides, and extra sights rather than comparing headline prices alone.
What can change the final price?
Trip length is the biggest visible difference between the listed options. A day trip centres on the waterfall. A multi-day holiday may include several towns, hotels, group transport, and cultural events. TravelStride's 9-day listing shows how a wider route can begin at $2,299. [4]
Flights also matter. The listed 18-day Ethiopia price of £5,495 is before flights. [6] Ask for a full cost breakdown before you pay. Check whether the quote includes airport transfers, accommodation in Bahir Dar, meals, entry fees, a guide, and the drive to Tississat.
Currency also affects your budget. One source lists a day trip in US dollars, while longer tours use pounds. [2][6] Keep a single budget currency in your notes. Then add a small buffer for meals, tips, local transport, and personal purchases.
How to compare packages fairly
Compare the number of days and nights.
Check whether the package starts and ends in Bahir Dar.
Confirm that the 70-kilometre road route is included. [8]
Check whether the 30-minute walk is part of the guided plan. [8]
Separate the falls day trip from the price of flights.
What is the best way to plan a Blue Nile Falls visit?
The best plan starts with Bahir Dar, allows a full day for the falls, and leaves room for Lake Tana or an overnight stay. A short route keeps the price low. A longer Ethiopia holiday works better when you want several regions, cultural sites, and more time between drives.
Getting started
Start by choosing your trip length. A one-day package suits travellers already staying in Bahir Dar. A longer tour suits visitors who want the falls within a wider Ethiopia holiday. Operators are already listing 2027 departures, so early planning gives you more time to compare available routes. [6]
Next, search for both Blue Nile Falls and Tississat. The two names refer to the same attraction. [1][8] Then check the starting point. A package from Bahir Dar should state how the group reaches the falls and whether the return drive is included.
Use the SafariFind catalogue to compare Ethiopia packages and verified tour operators. You can also read the wider guide to Addis Ababa tours and day trips in 2027 if your international flight connects through the capital.
Best practices for the road and walk
Plan for both driving and walking. The listed route covers about 70 kilometres round trip, then adds a walk of about 30 minutes to the falls. [8] Wear shoes with a firm sole. Carry water, sun protection, and a light layer for the day.
Keep your schedule flexible. A waterfall visit includes road time, the walk, time at the site, and the return drive. Do not pack another distant attraction into the same day unless the operator gives you a clear travel plan.
Lake Tana is a practical add-on because suggested itineraries pair it with the waterfall and an overnight stay in Bahir Dar. [8] This option gives you more time in the area than a rushed transfer through town.
Choosing between a short and long itinerary
Choice
Best for
Main benefit
One-day falls trip
Travellers based in Bahir Dar
Lower starting price and a focused route
Falls plus Lake Tana
Travellers with one extra night
More time around Bahir Dar
Multi-day Ethiopia holiday
Travellers visiting several regions
One booking for a longer route
Consider adding the 5-day Danakil Depression itinerary only if your wider route includes northern Ethiopia and the timing works. Danakil is a separate experience. It should not replace time planned for the falls.
How do you book Blue Nile Falls tour packages for 2027?
Book a 2027 Blue Nile Falls tour by confirming the departure date, starting city, inclusions, and operator record. The lowest listed day-trip price is $150 per person from Bahir Dar. [2] Longer tours need a closer check because their prices can include many more nights, transfers, and destinations.
Booking steps
Set your base: Choose Bahir Dar if you want the simplest route.
Choose your duration: Select one day, one overnight, or a longer Ethiopia tour.
Check the route: Confirm Tississat, the drive, and the falls walk.
Check the price: Separate the package cost from flights and personal spending.
Check the operator: Read authentic reviews and look for verified listings.
Request the details: Ask for the final itinerary and payment terms in writing.
Questions to ask before payment
Ask whether the $150 rate covers transport from Bahir Dar, a guide, site access, and return travel. The published starting price confirms the day-trip cost, but each operator may structure inclusions differently. A written itinerary helps you spot missing items before you commit.
Ask how the tour handles the 30-minute walk. [8] You should know where the vehicle stops, how long you have at the falls, and when you return to Bahir Dar. These simple details matter when you travel with children, older guests, or a tight onward schedule.
Ask whether Lake Tana and an overnight stay are included or sold as separate parts. Suggested itineraries combine these elements. [8] A clear answer helps you compare a short day trip with a wider local stay.
Booking timing for 2027
Advance 2027 booking inventory is already available. [6] That does not mean every date will suit every traveller. Start early if you need fixed leave dates, a private vehicle, or a longer route with several stops.
Review the cancellation terms before sending money. Save the itinerary, price, operator name, and inclusions. Keep the payment record with your passport and flight documents.
Start with the $150 per-person day-trip price when setting a 2027 Blue Nile Falls budget. [2]
Choose Bahir Dar as your base for the clearest route to Tississat.
Allow for a 70-kilometre round trip and a 30-minute walk to the falls. [8]
Add Lake Tana and an overnight stay if you want more time around Bahir Dar. [8]
Compare longer holidays carefully because listed prices reach £5,495 before flights. [6]

"Our 2026 trip to Ethiopia was a memorable adventure through some of the country’s most distinctive destinations: Chebera Churchura National Park, the Bale Mountains, the Danakil Depression, and the Omo Valley. Each place offered a different experience, and together they gave us a wonderful impression of Ethiopia’s natural and cultural diversity.
One of the highlights at Chebera Churchura National Park was seeing African elephants in their natural environment. It was a special moment to observe these magnificent animals in the wild and experience the park’s beautiful, remote surroundings.
The Bale Mountains brought another exciting wildlife experience. We were fortunate to spot mountain nyala and a red jackal during our visit. Seeing these animals in their natural habitat made the journey especially rewarding for us as wildlife enthusiasts. The highland scenery and peaceful atmosphere were equally memorable.
The Danakil Depression was completely different, with its unusual landscapes, striking colours, and fascinating volcanic environment. It was a challenging but worthwhile part of our adventure and a reminder of how diverse Ethiopia’s geography can be.
In the Omo Valley, we enjoyed discovering the region’s cultural diversity and learning about the traditions and everyday lives of its different communities. The experience gave us a greater appreciation of the people and cultures that make this part of Ethiopia so distinctive.
King Dawit Tours Ethiopia helped organize our journey across these varied destinations. We appreciated the practical arrangements and support throughout our travels, particularly when moving between remote regions. Travelling in these areas requires patience and flexibility, and the long journeys were part of the overall adventure.
Looking back, the wildlife sightings at Chebera Churchura and Bale Mountains were among our most memorable moments, alongside the extraordinary landscapes of Danakil and the cultural encounters in the Omo Valley.
We would recommend Ethiopia to travellers interested in wildlife, nature, adventure, and cultural discovery. It is a destination that offers much more than one type of experience, and our journey left us with wonderful memories of this remarkable country."
