A half-day Addo tour costs R1,900 per person in 2027, while premium lodge stays reach R37,200 per unit.
Addo Elephant National Park packages in 2027 range from R1,900 for a half-day guided tour to R37,200 per unit for a full-board-plus stay at Gorah Elephant Camp. Addo is in South Africa's Eastern Cape, near Gqeberha. May to August offers the listed winter lodge rate, while day tours run throughout the year.
Addo Elephant National Park packages in 2027 suit travelers who want a South African safari without a long transfer between regions. The park sits near Gqeberha in the Eastern Cape. It combines self-drive routes with guided game drives, 4x4 trails, and short walks. SANParks lists these activities on the official park page. [1]
Addo also works well as part of a longer South Africa safari. You can pair it with coastal time in Algoa Bay, then continue to another reserve. This guide focuses on real 2027 rates, tour lengths, booking dates, and practical choices.
Addo Elephant National Park packages range from simple half-day trips to high-end lodge stays. The clearest low-cost option is a four-hour Crisscross tour at R1,900 per person. A full-day open-vehicle tour costs R3,050 per person. Premium stays cost much more because they include accommodation, meals, and selected activities.
Use the figures below as a planning guide for October 2026 bookings. Rates have different validity dates. Check the package terms before paying a deposit, especially for travel after September 2027.
Addo Elephant National Park packages are paid safari products built around game viewing in Addo, South Africa. They include guided day tours, private vehicle trips, self-drive planning, or lodge stays. The package type decides the price, trip length, meal plan, transport, and level of personal service.
Addo Elephant National Park is known for self-drive game viewing, guided game drives, 4x4 trails, and short walks. [1] That mix gives you control over the day. You can drive your own route, join a scheduled tour, or book a lodge that includes activities.
The park is also a useful stop on an Eastern Cape route. Travelers can use a base near the park, spend one day inside Addo, and then explore the coast. For a wider wildlife plan, compare Addo with Hluhluwe-iMfolozi Game Reserve or Kruger National Park.
Addo is best for travelers who want a short safari, a road trip stop, or a private lodge stay. It also suits visitors who prefer to choose their own pace. A self-drive trip can keep costs lower, while a guided tour removes the work of planning routes and finding wildlife.
Families should check the age rules for each tour. Crisscross Adventures offers children’s pricing through its online booking form. The operator does not recommend its full-day tour for children under four. [3]
Compare Addo safari planning tips and 2027 package ideas before you choose your travel style.
A day tour and a lodge package deliver different experiences. A day tour gives you a fixed start time and a clear per-person cost. A lodge package gives you a room, meals, and planned activities, but the total price is higher.
Gorah Elephant Camp lists full-board-plus rates that include accommodation, all meals, and selected activities. [5] That structure helps travelers plan a complete stay without pricing every meal and activity separately.
Addo Elephant National Park packages cost R1,900 to R37,200 or more, depending on the tour format and accommodation level. The lowest listed rate is a four-hour half-day tour. The highest listed rate is a full-board-plus Gorah Elephant Camp unit for peak dates.
Crisscross Adventures lists a half-day Addo tour at R1,900 per person. The tour departs at 08:30 or 14:00 and lasts four hours. The price remains valid until 30 September 2027. [3]
Crisscross Adventures lists an open-vehicle full-day tour at R3,050 per person. The price is also valid until 30 September 2027. [3] This option suits visitors who want a longer game-viewing window without booking a lodge.
| Package type | Price | Duration | Validity |
|---|---|---|---|
| Crisscross half-day Addo tour | R1,900 per person | 4 hours | Until 30 September 2027 |
| Crisscross open-vehicle tour | R3,050 per person | Full day | Until 30 September 2027 |
| Flamingo Travels private van tour | ₹2,64,210 per person | 13 nights and 14 days | Until 30 September 2027 |
Gorah Elephant Camp lists R37,200 per unit for 18 December 2026 to 30 April 2027. The listed winter rate drops to R31,800 per unit from 1 May to 31 August 2027. The rate returns to R37,200 per unit from 1 September to 17 December 2027. [5]
Magical Africa lists a 2027 winter rate of R19,400 plus a R1,500 levy per person. [4] That gives a listed total of R20,900 per person before any other trip costs. Confirm the exact inclusions and dates when requesting a quote.
Nature Reserve also lists River Bend Lodge rates from R11,750 to R14,950 per person sharing. [5] This creates a middle price point between a guided day tour and the highest Gorah rate.
Compare 2027 South Africa safari costs across a longer itinerary if Addo forms part of a wider trip.
Request an Addo package quote from verified operators and compare the price, duration, and inclusions before booking.
Check the tour length, price unit, meal plan, child rules, and rate validity before booking. These details prevent the most common budget mistakes. A price per person is not the same as a price per unit, and a lodge rate may include more than a day-tour rate.
Gorah Elephant Camp lists full-board-plus rates. The stated inclusions cover accommodation, all meals, and selected activities. [5] A day tour has a different cost structure. You may still need to arrange your own accommodation, meals, and transport to the meeting point.
Flamingo Travels lists a private van tour at ₹2,64,210 per person. The listed product runs for 13 nights and 14 days and remains valid until 30 September 2027. [2] This is a long private tour, not a direct comparison with a four-hour Addo excursion.
SANParks lists 31 October 2027 as the last booking date on its Addo Elephant National Park page. [1] That date matters for travelers planning late 2027 visits. Start early if you want a specific lodge, private vehicle, or school-holiday departure.
Crisscross Adventures lists its day-tour prices until 30 September 2027. [3] Gorah Elephant Camp uses different seasonal rates across the year. Match your travel dates to the exact rate period rather than using one annual estimate.
A guided tour can simplify transport and game viewing. A self-drive plan gives you more control, but you must handle the route, fuel, timing, and park entry yourself. Addo's official activity list includes both self-drive game viewing and guided options. [1]
Read this South Africa transport guide before building a route between airports, coastal towns, and safari areas. The right transfer plan can save a full day of travel.
Couples may prefer a lodge package with meals and activities included. Families may prefer a shorter tour because younger children can find a full day in a vehicle tiring. Solo travelers can compare per-person tours, while groups may find a private vehicle more practical.
For a second wildlife stop, consider uMkhuze Game Reserve or Mapungubwe National Park. Each adds a different route choice, so avoid booking transfers before you set the full itinerary.
Plan an Addo safari package by choosing the trip length first, then setting a budget and travel date. Select a half-day tour for a quick visit, a full-day tour for longer viewing, or a lodge stay for included meals and activities.
Start with R1,900 per person for the listed half-day tour. Use R3,050 per person for the listed full-day open-vehicle option. For a lodge, budget from R11,750 per person sharing at River Bend Lodge or R31,800 to R37,200 per unit at Gorah Elephant Camp, based on the listed 2027 dates. [5]
Keep extra room for flights, transfers, park costs, drinks, tips, and nights outside the park. These costs do not appear in every package rate. Ask for a written quote that separates included items from optional items.
The listed Gorah winter rate runs from 1 May to 31 August 2027 at R31,800 per unit. [5] Magical Africa also lists a winter rate of R19,400 plus a R1,500 levy per person. [4] May to August therefore offers useful price points for travelers comparing lodge stays.
Day tours have their own validity period. Crisscross pricing runs until 30 September 2027. [3] If you plan an October to December trip, confirm the current price before booking.
SafariFind connects travelers with verified tour operators and authentic traveler reviews. Use the marketplace to compare package length, price, and service style. A review can also reveal how an operator handles pickup times, children, meals, and changes.
For a coastal add-on, explore Durban or Kosi Bay. For more safari nights, compare MalaMala Private Game Reserve. Keep each extra stop tied to your route, because long transfers can reduce time in the park.
Addo Elephant National Park packages cost R1,900 per person for a listed half-day tour and R3,050 per person for a full-day open-vehicle tour. Lodge rates reach R37,200 per unit at Gorah Elephant Camp during listed peak periods. Prices depend on duration, accommodation, and inclusions.

Does an Addo lodge package include meals?Gorah Elephant Camp's listed full-board-plus rates include accommodation, all meals, and selected activities. Day tours use a different format and should not be treated as full-board stays. Confirm the meal plan and activity list in your booking quote. [5]

"We made our reservations with 50% down-payment way back in Feb-26, 4 months before our trip in June and balance 50% one month before departure from Singapore. We were not sure and worried a bit whether things would turn out as described and promised, as this is our first ever trip to South Africa. All our worries disappeared from the moment we were picked up upon arrival according to the itinerary, and subsequent daily trips were excellent in view of timing, routes, transports, accommodations, meals, and to the local guides and drivers assigned. Everything is above and beyond our expectations, and we sincerely thank Safari Tailors for providing us such a memorable trip of our life!"

"Communications with Mack via email were swift and comprehensible. We were picked up at the airport on arrival by our guide, Thomas, who would be with us for the whole week. We signed up for a budget camping safari, and we had a great time! The campsites were nicer than I thought they would be, and the Kiliholidays team did a great job of taking care of us the whole trip. Thomas was very accommodating, and our 'stomach engineer' did a fantastic job the whole trip. My partner and I were very impressed by the quality of the food. Thomas was an incredible driver; a few times we had to stop and help other drivers who were stuck! This was my second visit to East Africa, and I will definitely book with Kiliholidays for my third trip :) A few tips for other travelers: The sleeping mattress was a bit thin for me (my partner had no trouble!), but I found that sleeping on my back instead of my side helped. If you have sensitive hips, I'd recommend bringing something to use as a cushion, or possibly arranging for an extra mattress. The tent was high-quality and the sleeping bags were warm. We stayed in Mto wa Mbu a few nights and it was quite hot there. We brought sleeping sacks (very thin) and used those instead. Bring LOTS of insect repellent and use it often (biting flies in the daytime, mosquitoes at night). Same with hand sanitizer (public campsite toilets don't usually have soap). Granola bars are a good idea, too, if you like to snack between meals. There's not a lot of access to ice, so if you like an evening adult-beverage, just ask your guide to stop before you leave Arusha to pick up some wine. We picked up a 5-liter box of South African wine for about 25euros and it was very convenient (bring your own cups!)."
5★ - "This is the second time I have traveled with my family with GoExplore. The first time was an amazing Uganda experience (already reviewed) and this second experience with my husband to Kenya was equally amazing. Brian org" - Sarah • Verified review
"This is the second time I have traveled with my family with GoExplore. The first time was an amazing Uganda experience (already reviewed) and this second experience with my husband to Kenya was equally amazing. Brian organized organized both tours for me and tailored them according to my wishes. As this is still the time of unsure flights and Covid difficulties, he was easily able to adapt to some changes with travel that were beyond our control. GoExplore is a boutique business that is very personalized and offers you the equal and more than a large corporate operator. The price point is compatible with group tours but you will have your own personal driver and guide for yourself and there is nothing to compare with this luxury. Because of that, you will also be able to adapt your days schedule if you wish according what you want and not what is a groups plan. We were completely happy and satisfied with all aspects of our travel (on both trips). Brian knows the safari tour industry and is constantly working to improve the business, his knowledge about lodges, the parks, restaurants and all minute aspects of the tour. He will be able to personally attest to the quality of whatever product he is recommending to you. Sammi was our driver in Kenya and we can only say that he was amazing. He knew more about wildlife (and every birds name and details) than an encyclopedia, was an amazingly adept driver in sometimes rough conditions (traffic, rough park roads, etc.) and looked out for our interests. While respecting the animals, he went above and beyond trying to make sure we saw every different animal we could. We appreciated that he obviously respected and cared about the animals we were seeing. (Not all safari drivers do and will do anything to try to get to see something up close, even while encroaching too much on their space.) We had a minor vehicle difficulty and Sammi made sure that everything went smoothly and we didn't miss a minute of our trip or schedule. He is quite an asset to GoExplore. Sammi only drives on Kenya trips but if you go to Uganda, I highly recommend Moses who was equally great. Overall, the trip was an unforgettable trip of a lifetime. If you haven't gone on a safari before, you should trip to put this on your life plan. There is nothing like it and when you plan it, you want a safari operator that will listen to your needs, wants, and budget and tailor it to fit you. GoExplore will do that in a personal way. Our lodges that Brian picked were magical and the food was outstanding. There was nothing about our trip that we would have changed. I highly recommend GoExplore if you want to travel to any of the countries they operate in. If not those countries, then reconsider them over the more commercialized ones (such as South Africa) and you won't be disappointed."

"We just finished a 2-week tour of South Africa with extension to Victoria Falls and the Monde Village Cultural Experience was one of the highlights of the entire trip. It is a must-do for anyone in the area. Tongesai (our guide) was very personable and worked with us to customize the experience. He was flexible and took time to explain many things that aren't part of the "regular tour". We had great conversations throughout the tour. He ended up dropping us off so late (8:30pm), his wife had to call him twice. He took a few pictures with us so he had alibi. :) Mr Ncube (our village host) and his family were welcoming and excited to show us their way of life. Mr Ncube's explanations of his culture, family structure, farming struggles, and discussions on many topics showed us a simple way of life, much different than our modern American ways, but it made so much sense. People here fight hard to live but they do it with a smile. They may be poor, but not in spirit. We asked many questions and received questions ourselves. It was as if I was visiting an uncle living in a rural part of a third-world country. This family made us felt at home. We wish we had more time to sit under the summer kitchen during a raining day, sharing food and chatting with these folks. We wish we could sit in the winter kitchen to hear him teach his children and grandchildren. Needless to say, we spent 4+ hrs at this experience and wanted more. I am now back to "civilization" in a nice Qatari hotel, but I kept thinking about my time in the simple Monde Village. What a breath of fresh air that was. I brought some extra clothes to give, but ended up giving as much as I could live without for the rest of my trip. A pair of sandals doesn't mean much to me, but it means a lot to people in these villages. This is 30+ hrs flight from home so it is a one-time chance to help; I had to make the best of it. If I can come back to this area, I will definitely bring more people to share in this amazing experience. I encourage all who come to Victoria Falls to add this cultural experience to their itinerary."

"Cultural Vibes Travel and Tours has proved to be excellent yet again as this is now the third time, we have used them and a much-needed break after almost 3 years with the Covid pandemic. Tongesai is extremely reliable, professional, knowledgeable and does everything to make your trip a memorable experience. Compared to local larger companies, Tongesai’s individual package rates are more reasonable and come with a customized touch. We felt that our holiday with Tongesai was much better and suited us more so than if we had booked through a larger company. His individual tailoring, personal involvement and attention to detail pays off in the smooth running of your trip. Our visits to the Victoria Falls, both sides from Zimbabwe and Zambia were magnificent and never cease to amaze us. On this trip Tongesai arranged for a private sunset cruise on the Zambezi just for our family of four instead of on the larger vessels, which was a very pleasant alternative. The boat trip in Chobe is magical and a must if you venture into Botswana. Wildlife was in abundance, including lion, elephant, wildebeest, buffalo, puku, kudu, bushbuck, waterbuck, impala, gemsbok, steenbok, sable and roan antelope, etc. We even saw a relative of Cecil, the famous black-maned lion, ‘once a true king of Hwange National Park’. I have no hesitation in recommending the company for arranging tours in Zimbabwe, Zambia and Botswana - we will definitely be seeing him again. He is currently setting up arrangements with colleagues in Kruger National Park to venture into South Africa and I wish him every success with that."
