A 7-Day Gorongosa Safari Itinerary 2027: Costs by Day costs about US$3,200 to US$4,500 per person for a standard seven-day trip. A photo safari can cost much more, with one seven-night option starting at US$11,275. Plan around April to June or October to November for lower listed Chicari Camp rates, and compare verified options before booking.
Plan a 7-day Gorongosa safari in 2027 with daily costs, camp rates, park fees, photo safari prices, and practical booking advice.
A 7-Day Gorongosa Safari Itinerary 2027: Costs by Day gives you a clear budget before you travel. Gorongosa National Park sits in central Mozambique, and a seven-day plan gives you time for game drives, camp life, and guided park activities.
The main budget range is US$3,200 to US$4,500 per person in 2027. That figure generally covers accommodation, meals, and safari activities. International flights, travel insurance, tips, and some transfers can sit outside the quoted price [1].
Here is the quick answer. A standard seven-day Gorongosa safari costs about US$457 to US$643 per person per day when you divide the full trip estimate across seven days. This is a planning figure, not a daily invoice. Camp rates, transport, group size, and safari style can change the final total.
This guide breaks the cost into daily planning stages. It also separates a regular safari from a high-end photographic trip. That difference matters. A seven-night Wild Eye photo safari starts at US$11,275 per person and requires a 50% deposit [5].
Use the figures here to ask better questions. Does the price include park access? Are meals included? Does the transfer from Beira sit inside the package? A clear answer to each question protects your budget.
A seven-day Gorongosa safari itinerary is a week-long park trip that combines accommodation, meals, and safari activities in one planned journey. The standard 2027 estimate is US$3,200 to US$4,500 per person. A photo-focused itinerary costs more because it adds specialist guiding, planned photography time, and conservation access [1][5].
Gorongosa National Park is the main destination for this itinerary. A typical plan uses a camp as its base and sets aside several days for game drives. The exact route depends on the operator, camp, transfer plan, and the activities included in your booking.
Beira is a useful arrival reference when you plan the journey. One listed five-night Gorongosa trip includes a seat-in charter from Beira [7]. Your seven-day package may use a different transfer plan, so check the arrival point before paying a deposit.
Gorongosa safari packages can also sit inside a wider Mozambique trip. Bush-and-beach packages that pair Gorongosa or Zinave with Vilanculos cost about US$3,000 to US$5,500 per person [3]. This range helps explain why a longer combined holiday may overlap with a seven-day park budget.
Known for: Gorongosa safari plans are known for combining wildlife viewing with conservation-focused travel. The Wild Eye itinerary includes daily game drives, conservation experiences, and behind-the-scenes access to Gorongosa's ecological restoration project [5].
Best for: This itinerary is best for travelers who want a full week in one park. It also suits photographers who need more time in the field. Families and first-time safari travelers should focus on transfer time, meal plans, and the pace of each day.

A standard seven-day Gorongosa safari costs about US$3,200 to US$4,500 per person in total. Dividing that estimate by seven gives a simple daily planning range of US$457 to US$643. The daily figure helps with budgeting, but camp nights and transfer days do not always cost the same [1].
| Day | Main planning focus | Estimated share of a US$3,200 to US$4,500 trip |
|---|---|---|
| Day 1 | Arrival, transfer, and first camp night | US$457 to US$643 |
| Day 2 | Morning and afternoon safari activities | US$457 to US$643 |
| Day 3 | Full safari day and camp meals | US$457 to US$643 |
| Day 4 | Game drives or a guided conservation activity | US$457 to US$643 |
| Day 5 | Full safari day and included camp services | US$457 to US$643 |
| Day 6 | Final full park day and photography time | US$457 to US$643 |
| Day 7 | Last activity, departure transfer, and onward travel | US$457 to US$643 |
This table spreads the package total evenly. It does not replace an operator quote. The first and last days may include more road or air transfer time. The middle days usually carry the main safari activity value, especially when you book a private vehicle or specialist guide.
Chicari Camp lists a 2027 rate of US$900 per person per night from April 1 to June 30 and October 1 to November 30. The listed rate includes accommodation, all meals, and local beverages [4]. These dates offer a clear benchmark for planning a lower camp-rate season.
Chicari Camp lists a higher 2027 rate of US$1,150 per person per night from July 1 to September 30 [4]. Seven nights at that rate total US$8,050 before other trip costs. That calculation shows why camp-only pricing and full-package pricing must stay separate.
The listed Chicari rate is a useful comparison point, not a complete seven-day safari price. A full package can include guiding, park access, transfers, and other services. Ask for a line-by-line quote before you compare two camps.
Wild Eye lists a seven-night Gorongosa photographic safari from US$11,275 per person [5]. The listed trip requires a 50% deposit. That means the starting deposit is US$5,637.50 per person, with the remaining balance due under the operator's booking terms.
A photo safari is a different product from a standard seven-day holiday. It combines daily game drives with conservation experiences and behind-the-scenes access to the park's restoration project [5]. The extra cost pays for a more focused schedule and specialist travel design.
Need to protect a fixed budget? Request a quote from verified Gorongosa safari operators under your target budget and ask each one to separate included costs from extras.
The most important booking step is to separate included services from extra costs. A seven-day Gorongosa safari estimate usually includes accommodation, meals, and safari activities. International flights, insurance, tips, and some transfers can sit outside the estimate [1].
Start with the total package price. Then ask what each day includes. A clear quote should show the number of nights, meal plan, safari activities, transfers, park costs, and any conservation levy.
Park access deserves special attention. A separate guide on Gorongosa entry fees and safari costs lists an entry fee of about US$20 for international visitors. It also describes a US$30 adult per-night park fee, a US$15 per-night fee for children aged 12 to 17, and a US$120 adult conservation and community levy. Confirm how your operator applies these charges before booking.
Prices can look close until you add fees. For that reason, read the details in this guide to Gorongosa National Park entry fees and safari costs while building your trip budget.
A standard safari suits travelers who want a balanced park visit. A private safari may give you more control over departure times and vehicle use. A photo safari suits travelers who care about camera support, long viewing periods, and conservation access.
Do not compare a US$3,200 standard estimate with an US$11,275 photo safari as if they were the same product. The photo trip includes a different focus and itinerary design [1][5]. Compare the number of nights, guide type, vehicle plan, and activities first.
Mozambique can support a bush-and-beach extension after Gorongosa. Packages pairing a safari area with Vilanculos cost about US$3,000 to US$5,500 per person [3]. That range may fit travelers who want wildlife and a coastal stay in one holiday.
Travelers who want a coast stop can read the guide to Bazaruto Islands holiday packages in 2027. Travelers who want a wider camp comparison can use SafariFind's guide to Mozambique safari lodge rates.
Keep the route simple if your priority is Gorongosa. Adding too many stops can use time that would otherwise go toward park activities. A focused seven-day plan often gives you a calmer trip.
Start planning a 2027 Gorongosa safari by choosing your travel month, camp style, and total budget. Then match the transfer plan to your arrival city. Booking early matters for a small camp or a specialist photo trip, especially when the listed rates cover specific dates.
Chicari Camp lists April 1 to June 30 and October 1 to November 30 at US$900 per person per night. The July 1 to September 30 rate is US$1,150 per person per night [4]. Use these date bands as starting points when comparing camp costs.
Ask whether the operator can hold the same rate across all seven nights. Your trip may cross from one season into another. If it does, the operator should show the rate for each night.
Use US$3,200 to US$4,500 per person as the standard seven-day planning range [1]. Add a separate allowance for flights, insurance, tips, and transfer costs that the package excludes. This keeps your trip budget realistic.
For a photo safari, use US$11,275 per person as the starting reference from Wild Eye [5]. Plan for the 50% deposit, which equals US$5,637.50 at that listed starting price. Check payment deadlines and cancellation terms before you commit.
Compare the number of safari activities, the camp meal plan, the vehicle arrangement, and the guide style. A low daily price may include fewer activities. A higher price may include a private vehicle or a specialist focus.
Ask these practical questions before you pay:
Keep Day 1 for arrival and settling in. Use Days 2 through 6 for the main safari schedule. Leave Day 7 for a final activity and departure transfer. This plan avoids packing every hour with travel.
Photographers may prefer a different balance. The Wild Eye program uses daily game drives, conservation experiences, and restoration project access [5]. Ask for the daily schedule if photography is your main reason for visiting.
SafariFind connects travelers with verified tour operators and authentic traveler reviews. Read the review record, inspect the package inclusions, and compare the response you receive to your questions. Clear answers are a good sign during the planning stage.
Beira is often part of the arrival discussion, but your operator should confirm the exact transfer route. One five-night listing includes a seat-in charter from Beira [7]. Do not assume the same transfer applies to every seven-day package.
Keep a copy of the quote, payment schedule, and included services. That small step makes it easier to check the final invoice against the price you approved.
Use images that explain the trip rather than decorate the page. Each image should show a real part of the itinerary, such as a camp, transfer point, vehicle, or conservation activity.
A seven-day Gorongosa safari costs about US$3,200 to US$4,500 per person in 2027. The standard estimate usually includes accommodation, meals, and safari activities. International flights, insurance, tips, and some transfers may cost extra [1].
What is the daily cost of a Gorongosa safari? The daily planning cost is about US$457 to US$643 per person. This figure divides the full US$3,200 to US$4,500 estimate across seven days. Actual daily costs can change because camp nights, transfers, and activities do not always have equal prices.
How much does Chicari Camp cost in 2027?Chicari Camp lists US$900 per person per night from April 1 to June 30 and October 1 to November 30, 2027. The rate includes accommodation, all meals, and local beverages. From July 1 to September 30, the listed rate is US$1,150 per person per night [4].
How much does a Gorongosa photo safari cost?A seven-night Wild Eye Gorongosa photo safari starts at US$11,275 per person. The listed itinerary includes daily game drives, conservation experiences, and access to the ecological restoration project. Wild Eye requires a 50% deposit [5].
What does a Gorongosa safari package usually include?A standard seven-day Gorongosa safari package usually includes accommodation, meals, and safari activities. International flights, insurance, tips, and some transfers may sit outside the price. Ask for a written list of inclusions before booking [1].
How can I book a Gorongosa safari for 2027?Book by comparing verified operators, checking package inclusions, and reading authentic traveler reviews on SafariFind. Ask for a detailed quote that shows camp rates, activities, transfers, park costs, deposit terms, and excluded expenses.
A seven-day Gorongosa safari in 2027 costs about US$3,200 to US$4,500 per person for a standard itinerary. That budget usually covers accommodation, meals, and safari activities. Plan for extra costs such as international flights, insurance, tips, and some transfers [1].
Chicari Camp gives you a useful seasonal benchmark. Its listed rate is US$900 per person per night from April to June and October to November, while July to September rises to US$1,150 [4]. Travelers who want specialist photography should use the US$11,275 Wild Eye starting price as a separate reference [5].
Keep your route focused. Confirm the arrival transfer, check each fee, and ask what happens on every day of the itinerary. That work takes minutes and can prevent a costly surprise later.

"This is the second time I am writing a review of my experience of traveling with Kikwetu Cultural Adventures. Last year, Ken Benson and his team organized an 80 day custom made safari through 7 African countries for me with such outstanding logistics and customer service throughout the safari, that this year I decided to turn again to Ken and his team to ask for his professional assistance in organizing a half-around-the-world tour for me. I am 71 years old and decided that it was now or never for me to travel to some parts of the world which always have exerted a lot of attraction over me. I communicated to Ken via e-mail my ideas of where I wanted to go and how long I wanted to stay in each place and asked him to arrange flight connection, ground transportation, accommodation, sightseeing, etc. It turned out to be the safari of a lifetime: 31 days and 7500 km by road through rural and religious Ethiopia. One week in Nairobi with visits to museums and galleries, the Sheldrick’s elephant orphanage, a hike through Hell’s Gate close to Naivasha, Kibera slum and a very enjoyable walking tour through down town Nairobi which is especially recommendable on a Sunday. Flight from Nairobi to Nampula and ground transportation to Nacala, Mozambique. From Nacala, I had arranged for a freighter travel to Singapore with a stop over in Mauritius Island, but with three weeks on my hands while waiting for another freighter to come along and take me back home to Mexico across the Indian and the Pacific Ocean, Ken arranged for a 12 day safari in Indonesia, visiting Central and East Java, Sulawesi and Bali, and one week in Malaysia with highlights in Georgetown, Ipoh and Malacca. My journey lasted 122 days and whenever network connections were available, Ken kept track of my travels and was in contact with me and/or the subcontracted provider to make sure, that everything went according to program and schedule. It was a most gratifying experience and I want to thank Ken, Livingstone, Paul and the rest of Kikwetu Cultural Adventures for having made one more of my dreams come true. There is no doubt in my mind that, if you are interested in a truly custom made safari inside Africa and in neighboring countries, Kikwetu Cultural Adventures is the best choice for getting what you are looking for with regard to advice, support, customer service and price."
